You did fine. It would have dropped the spring even if you had left more on.

i really wish they did a 35 with just a single clip blade! but carrying my modified 35 today

Love that 25 in Maroon Micarta! Looks killer! Been thinking of getting a Green Banana and have wanted one for a while now. Do you use yours or is it to nice to use. Im not an abuser but I do use my knives.

Honestly, I haven’t carried or used any of these. That’s not to say that I never will but I mainly bought them as collectibles. The only traditionals I currently carry are SAKs and a LionSteel Shuffler.

That is a great shot of those beautiful covers! Are they primarily green from most angles?

Thanks! It is mostly green and the darker "background" bit w/ enough of the red/rust and metallic effects...very happy w/ it.

Couple more awful pics..tough one to photograph. .need to get it outside in the sun.

Great shot of that Ebony...I was on the fence between the Ebony and the acrylic...I'm a sucker for a long pull...I see an Ebony in my future..yours is a beauty.

Edit: Haha...not sure how I screwed that post up...Half my text is in the collapsed quote...First time I've done that...not even into The Glenlivet yet.

Thanks Icky Thump Icky Thump , could be GECs best acrylic yet. The 35s have a lot goin' for them. I'm a sucker for equal end, long pull, clip & sheepfoot blades, single spring, Tidioutes etc. etc. Throw in ebony and I'm enthralled!!! My money says you'll really enjoy an ebony also.

Really love the Churchill. This example is flawless in all respects and the pull on both blades suit me to a tee. (And, it's just down right purty.)
My hummingbird has the best (to me) pull of my 6 examples. Sheepfoot on my green banana is the only blade that doesn't have good opening snap

My first 35. I’m not a fan of the 2 blade. I have an American jack 2 blade and don’t like it. So I’ve only taken out of the wrapper 3 times. This 35 is totally different. The pull is real nice and I’ve always wanted a Banana Bone! Totally digging the 35 now. Between the light pull weight and the thin blades. It’s pretty cool. I used some Nano oil in joints and it’s like butter!

Interesting that you say that. I started with a SFO ebony harness jack with a spear blade, moved on to a green banana bone and then picked up an AAPK SFO, and still couldn’t understand why people raved so much about this pattern. It’s only since I picked up an ebony that I started to see the appeal, and I now agree that it’s a good pattern. But only the clip point ebony has really given me that impression, the others really left me fairly cold. The combination of a clip point blade with an equal end frame doesn’t make a lot of sense aesthetically, but it seems to work, and I think it works best when dressed with a plain handle such as ebony. No other GEC pattern has me put me in two minds as to whether I like it in quite the same way as this one has.
