Try collecting some wood dust when you can and mix it with the superglue next time.

It's been my experience with thin superglue that mixing wood dust with it will cause it to cook off before you can do anything with it. It is the best thing available to repair cracks that I've come across.

Stubby Tumbnail answered part of your question. Snakewood handled knives have always had the 'Snake Wood' etch, kind of like the 'Natural Stag' knives have their etches.

The one etch I'm currently wondering about is the 'Northfield' etch. That one seems to appear on the satin finished blades while the 'Un-X-LD' shield is on the mirror finish.

Of course, I could always be wrong.

Thanks for the pictures of those smooth oiled bone guys! I really wish I'd reserved one of those.

Interesting. I didn't know all of the older snakewoods had that etch. Thanks Steve

And Thanks Stubby

Superglue Gel or a good epoxy work well, but the gentleman that told me that was generally pretty fast from mix to application.

Real Jewels there Ron !!!

Harry

Ron, Harry and hamsco, all very NICE!!!

Ron, Harry & Jeff - beautiful Vipers! Congrats!

Harry, Paul and Al - Thank you fine gentlemen all for the kind words. :)

Harry - I was already thinking about a family portrait of all my Vipers. If the weather is agreeable this weekend I will definitely see what I can do.
I have no Stag ordered. I had to save a little money for the 85's. In the meantime here is some Red Linen Micarta, the one I had in my pocket today. :)

That red linen micarta sure is a peach! Thanks for sharing!

Mine arrived yesterday along with a black micarta, but I haven't really had a chance to CF & CE yet.

I had to save a few $ for the 85's too.... they sure are lookin good so far!

Steve, thank you, the red is vibrant! Oh yes, CFing and CEing were definitely in order last night. I love the Micarta Vipers. One of my favorite EDC's is a GEC Maroon Linen Micarta. Have a good weekend.:)

Hopefully I am not the only one, but "CF & CE"?

Coon Fingerin and Chicken Eyein...... can't remember where it all started..... somewhere in the barlow thread I think. Probably a lot older than that, but there's some priceless pictures in there! I do believe it was around the time of the red soup bone TC's.

I think this is the page where the photos started...... Philllll posted a good one here.

Everyone is getting some very nice Vipers. Thanks for the comments Ron, Harry, you guys received some beauties also.

Hamsco, beautiful stag, the Viper looks very good with stag handles, I like it without the shield. Reminds me of the old Sheffield knives.
