GEC #47 Viper

Hoping to score a Smooth Oiled Bone.. Didn't pre-order so keeping my fingers crossed all who did didn't!!! John:thumbup:

SCORED!!!!!:D:thumbup: Looking forward to the SMOOTH Oil Bone!!!!! John

Just got these two in the mail yesterday. GEC did a killer job with the jigged bone options on this run. Both look great!

These are my first #47's. I suspected they would be just a little bigger than I would prefer, and they are (if they were closer to the size of the Case Swaybacks, or maybe in between, they'd be perfect), but I'm still really happy with them. I think I'll carry the Northfield today. :D

I just love the looks of this one. The only way it could be improved, IMHO, is by making it in Tidioute trim, so that the blade could be pinchable. I hope Old Hundred Collectibles will do a Tidioute version next time there is a run of #47s.

I didn't save GEC's daily front page on Thursday, but they did these as an SFO. The only finished difference was a blade etch, but I'd say this is as close as you're going to get to your wish. Better hurry on over to GEC's site to find out where to get it! The 47's are selling out really quick!

Of course, I love the Hemlock, but that Green Bottle Glass sure is nice! I agree, they really did a good job on the jigging this time. Thanks for the pic!

They did do a great job. My Hemlock is gorgeous, and the Snakewood even more so. My second Snakewood is in transit and I cant wait to see it. I think it is too pretty to carry, even in a slip.

Well sadly I woke up this morning Valentines day after celebrating SWMBOs 50th yesterday with about 60 people at our house ...only to discover in my hungover state that my snakewood 47 order has been cancelled.
Disappointed?
You Betcha.
I'm seeking more info.

the jigging on my green glass is poor. worst I've gotten. large nicks in the edge and rough grooves.. 😠

I though these looked great as well, an SFO of black linen micarta. Pic taken from GEC's Instagram.

Can't wait for these to hit Bob's shelves.

The swedge, fluted bolsters, and especially the shield really set this one off.

Just when I think I don't need another sharpened object, something like this pops up.....

Sorry, and not acceptable.
If you bought from a dealer, I'm sure they would replace it. But act fast because all these Vipers are going fast.

Got my 3 Tidioute Vipers this past week. Very pleased with all 3 of these. The Green Glass was the dirtiest knife I have every received from Great Eastern.
It almost looked like it did not go through the Way Oil bath stage in the final clean up and polish area. But it cleaned up nicely.

Because Mike at CK is such a cool guy, I should have an EDC snakewood on the way, as well as a smooth oiled bone even though I did not originally pick one on early reserve.

I hope the figuring is pretty good on the snakewood, as the EDCs have to be purchased sight-unseen. Fingers crossed!

Symphony -
I called (removed non BF Dealer Member reference) on Friday and ordered one, should be here tomorrow, he said that he only had a few outside of the pre-orders.

Apologies, my bad

The three Vipers looking great together, Half/Stop!

I got one in East Indian Rosewood and really like the color of the wood.
Sharpness and spring action on this knife was very well made from GEC.
