That pretty well sums it up, I think. The Pony Jack is a jack knife with both blades pivoting on the same end.Two blades on one side and one blade blades on opposite sides? I’m sure there are folks here that can chime in with better knowledge.![]()

sry, these are older knives, not from the current run.JoKr how’s the snap on the blades into open on the new 68? Do they both snap well? I understand they have no half stops.
Got it. Your pony Jack looked one of the new ones.sry, these are older knives, not from the current run.
both, the White Owl and the Pony Jack have a pretty weak spring and the action is ok, but not a gator snap.

Both blades on my new cocobolo snap open and closed well. The pull is not super strong (maybe a 5) and I could push it shut on my finger from the open position if I really tried. This one could benefit from a half stop. Not really for heavy duty use, but that wasn't what it was really made for. Nice smooth action on both blades though. Fits my hand well for a smaller knife and ppckets nicely.JoKr how’s the snap on the blades into open on the new 68? Do they both snap well? I understand they have no half stops.
Any advantages to one pattern over the other?some details and comparison (not from the current run)

The white Owl will be slightly thinner and slightly lighter as it will have a single spring and won't be all steel. If you get a White Owl with thicker stag, it may offset all of that though. Probably more a matter of preference.Any advantages to one pattern over the other?
Only benefit I could think of is the white owl is a single spring so it makes it thinner. With the blades on opposite ends one blade can operate them. Personally, I like the heft of two springs on GEC’s of this size. Both are nice it’s more preference.Any advantages to one pattern over the other?

Just compared them both. The pull on the 68 is just a little stronger, but the 62 has the half stops. I wouldn't worry about the 68 closing up unless you were really twisting it in something. I also compared it to a 1920's Remington Jr. Cattle Knife that is near mint, and the pull and snap are on par with it. Probably about where it was meant to be for a knife of it's size and intended use.Sounds like about the same pull as the 62's?
