A great looking pair Gus! I do like your style!Beauty there Dan
I just lurve these coco wee jacks, as they also feel quite vintage in hand. So I just had to grab a couple since a few came up here on the exchange!!
I also wanted them to be unique and different from each other…

Thank you both kindly… gentlemen.
Great minds… and all my friend !A great looking pair Gus! I do like your style!
I typically like blades on opposite ends as they are thinner. In this case however due to overall size, I prefer the Pony Jack as it just feels stronger and more substantial in hand. I do have both and both nice little knives.Ok now you have all been using then for some time I have a question.
As I have a chance to buy either knife at the same price new.
Do you prefer
A,The Pony Jack
or
B,The White Owl
and is there a reason why?

If you plan to use it extensively, Pony Jack is better choice, it has more robust all steel construction. White Owl is more classy in my eyes.Ok now you have all been using then for some time I have a question.

They are nice little knives. Good pick-up.I traded for a Pony Jack at the blade show after reading this thread all over again,I could of had a white owl.
This is the right choice for me
There is something about this knife makes it special,it needs to be used, kept in the pocket and pick up some patina, its a proper little work horse
If anyone's looking for either one I can let you have the details of the UK dealer, the prices for these aren't high (relatively).
He also has some SFO whittler types (made for him) at low prices.

That is pretty hard to argue against. Just a well made simple work knife EDC.![]()
The Pony Jack might not be the best knife of 2021. But I think it's pretty far up the list.
The traditional equal-end, 3.5" jack knife is one of my all-time favorite knives, and the GEC Pony Jacks are great examples. They bear an uncanny resemblance to the Jackmaster knives made by Imperial under the Hammer Brand name between 1936-1955. Here are some pictures showing what I mean. The top row are GEC Pony Jacks and the bottom row are Hammer Brand knives.I'm looking for pictures of old knives which inspired the #68 pony jack ?
I mean , is it a Sheffield classic ?
