GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Mike is looking for people who have Iron Wood reservations who want to trade for a natural micarta reservation... He says he was shorted on Iron Wood

I’m sure you weren’t excited about this sort of news being spread. I know the majority of folks (I for one) don’t know half of the hassles of your business. I just want to thank you again for your hard work to get some great knives into people’s hands. Even if I hadn’t scored one, I couldn’t deny your efforts to try to be as just as possible in giving folks the opportunity. If you need some folks with other handle materials to step up, I’ll offer the sawcut with my name on it as a swap if it helps.

All of this careful planning and headache and now to have to ask people to switch up. That's sucks, sorry for the added stress, Mike.

Mike and most all of the GEC dealers work pretty hard to do things fair. Win some, lose some. You can always trade or buy on secondary market.

I thought the lottery was sort of fun and probably saves a lot of time and wasted emails and calls.

I hope new owners will post these 77’s when they ship out.

knifeswapper knifeswapper : Mike, are you inclined to let us know how far off you are sitting with regards to ironwood vs. micarta? I'd prefer the ironwood I was selected for but if there's a substantial difference I'd be willing to switch. Thanks!

I'm covered. Had enough people that would rather have had the micarta in the first place. They didn't short me but about 6, but there were 14 EDC's. Which left me 10 short to cover the guaranteed reserves before those that kindly changed. Some of the EDC's were small issues and will be offered to the standby's at a reduced price once everything has shaken out.

Mike you put more effort into this, with more communication, then any dealer I have ever seen. I hope it doesn’t stress you out too much as it would be a great loss to all of us nuts if you ever tossed up your hands and said “enough!”. Thank you for all the hard work.
