GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

Now I'm drooling and anxiously awaiting my arrivals. Keep the pics coming please so I can live vicariously until mine get here!

I hadn't chimed in earlier in the thread simply because I have been trying to distract myself about it since I first heard about the new run. I am now, however, actively staking out my mailbox on hopes my black wood and tan sawcut sheepsfoot show up before I leave for the day! Thanks to all for the great photos thus far; I hope to add to the collection of photos soon!
Thanks ,
Brian

I'm floored by the red...

Not much wharncliffe love. I should have gotten a red clip too. The blackwood sheepsfoot is the best-looking version I've seen.

YES!!! This is a Winner!! Simply outstanding. Perfectly centered blade, fit/finish is excellent. Love the slightly rounded edge on the scales. The blade contour, pull, finish, etc is perfect.

Mike you hit a Grand Slam with this one sir! Two thumbs up!!

AZman, I'll have to agree with you. The blackwood looks amazing. I wasn't smart enough to reserve one. However, I am very happy with my new 77's. Mike did a great job.

That is NICE! (I knew I would regret not ordering a sheepsfoot version.)

Congrats to all on the beautiful knives. Thanks again to Mike for making it happen.

Oiled the joints, gave the Blackwood a good slathering of RenWax, found an old GEC slip case, put the button on my hat.

I really like this one. I was afraid it might be a little bigger than I like for a pocket knife but that was not the case. The rounded edges of the wood paneling :D make for great fondling. Mike and GEC did a job good.

Inevitiably there must be comparisons...

The 77 Barlow is a nice size and also rides in the bottom of my RFP nicely. I don't care for the Grand-Daddy Barlows I've seen - WAY too big. This one is just right.

This sheepfoot 77 Barlow has the sharpest blade I've ever gotten from the factory. It's excellent. The pull is perfect, I like the half-stop also. And by the way it's pinchable, an attribute I like.

The blade length opened from tip of bolster to blade tip is 2 7/8" for those who might live, work or travel in places with 3" limits.
