GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

You guys are very welcome, I'm amazed at how many actually got the Autumn bone versions.

Mailbox delivers happiness.
Loving the Sheepsfoot and the slim profile of these.
And first time getting buttons... :)

I too would like to participate in this 77 frenzy. Only 1 for me but would love to get my hands on a blackwood. Congrats everyone!! Sorry for the poor lighting, was trying to get a couple shots in before the sun went down.

Man ,those autumn bones are gorgeous! I was too slow on those! GEC needs to pump that handle out cause it's on fire!

Wow, these look fantastic! Hoping mine hit the door next week - 2 reds & a blackwood!

However, looking at all these GREAT pics, I wish I would have 1) reserved 1 of everything, 2)been faster on the draw for the smooth autumn and 3) AT LEAST picked up a blackwood sheepsfoot.

My blackwood will be a wharnie, but that blackwood/sheepsfoot combo sure is nicer in images then it sounded on paper!!

OTOH, I did score one with brass pins & liners.....!! :D

I got mine today and they are gorgeous! I went ALL sheepfoot--all five available handle materials. I think this is among some of the best work GEC has turned out it terms of F and F. All five of these are very sharp out of the box. The blades are centered, the walk and talk is just about perfect in my view, the scale material in every case is nicely fitted and the material transitions are near flawless. And finally they are pinchable which someone else said, I too like. Here are a couple of quick pictures

All involved really need to stand and take a bow. I'm not just talking GEC & Mike but all of those who stepped up and enthusiastically supported the release of this run. This is the type of excitement and involvement that is contagious and will continue to bring new blood into our hobby. I have had the opportunity to witness the impact these new releases, and specifically the SFO's, have had on generating interest in our little corner of knifedom. While some have an interest in profit, most are drawn by the new and exciting rebirth of the traditional knife. The enthusiasm shown by the community for not just this release, but many others as well, just makes me smile. We were here when the GEC #73's, Charlows, #77's and all those other exciting patterns were released. These are great times for the knife enthusiast, appreciate it. Our elders never had the opportunity to share their thoughts with each other upon the release of the Schrade Old Timers or Buck 110's, we can do that today. Knives are good, people are great. This forum confirms that fact everyday.

Here, here!

There are fewer and fewer places to go these days with our illness; and I am so grateful that GEC takes it as serious as it does.

I received mine today and couldn't be happier. I love everything about these 2: the fit and finish, the slimness, the rounded edges, the walk and talk, the pull, nothing to complain about. I actually love how high the Sheepsfoot rides as it is perfect for pinching, thank you Mike.

These are my 2 , African black wood has been oiled, given a 40 degree inclusive edge stropped to hair popping, ready for the pocket tomorrow and the Old Tan has just been admired. Can't stress enough how nice these feel in hand.

Great pics everyone! I'm really liking the clips in stag and smooth autumn gold. Regretting not going after those. Will have to try to remedy that!

Loving the Autumn Gold. The fit and finish is awesome!! I'm going to enjoy carrying this Sheepsfoot.

Mine came pretty sharp. But I couldn't resist giving her a bit of TLC to make that working edge a bit more refined. Maybe over the weekend, I'll give her a nice mirror edge.
