GEC #77 Medium Barlow Impressions

I think the African Blackwood is the best of all the handle covers for this knife. These are slender covers and keep the knife nice and slim and visually they look just right on what is a slim frame.
Stag looks great on most knives but on this knife they take away the slimness, one of the # 77's most desirable features.

Variety is the spice of life! I love my super slim AB Sheepfoot, and my fatty stag. So today, I'm carrying both these beauties:

Thanks, Perry. I still need to work on photos of the African Blackwood, 'cause it's not really black. It's a nice, dark, chocolate brown.

This knife is a winner, and I am thrilled to have it in my pocket today! The knife alone is terrific. But the generosity of Shawn (GBPacker) made my day and my week! :D

Bob ( Big Biscuit ) : Do you know if anyone has modified a 77 Barlow with Old Red sawed bone covers with the EO Mod yet ? I figured you would know if anybody knows !
 
No thank you . I like mine very much as it with the Clip Blade , but I do have one with a Sheepsfoot reserved in theory as well as the Ol Tan with a Sheepsfoot.
Who only knows when they will be made.

The clip blades just don't do it for me aesthetically when it comes to the EO notch. Sheepsfoot or spear okay. I did my tan Sawcut.
 
I agree with you on the clip blade EO , but just was thinking ahead for when I get the Sheepsfoot and your previous posts of the EO Mods that you have done all looked very nice , but I could never remember seeing it done to the Ol Red Bone.

Here's my red sawcut EO. I know it doesn't float everyone's boat and I appreciate that but with partial paralysis in my left hand and the onset of Carpal tunnel in my right...it truly serves a useful purpose.

I think it looks great my friend, perfect for that Sheepfoot! Man I wish I had those skills but my hands shake too much anymore. :(
 
Paul : Great pictures of a nice EO Mod to what I think is a very nice knife . Am looking forward to mine someday.
