Whenever people start this refrain about Micarta not really being part of the Traditional galaxy, they need to look at this picture to see how misguided they are :D

Sometimes people say Micarta is too uniform, has no character etc again wrong.

The word is exquisite tough:thumbup:

I've always felt it was a great pity this year's Forum Knife was not clad in this super stuff, or at least given the option of getting one.

Regards, Will

I'm a huge Micarta fan, especially of the canvas Micarta. The canvas has a great texture that feels good in the hand, and looks super hot as well. It's toughness makes it an excellent choice for a hard working knife. Very suitable for a barlow.

Im telling ya, the ivory and micarta on these may not have been the most popular, but it's the two I ordered and Im glad I did. :D

I'm not a fan of micarta, but to each their own. People prefer different handle material for aesthetics and whatever their use might be. After saying that, if I were to buy a micarta scaled knife this might be the one. The thing I like about this knife with micarta is that it's a rough buff. If you look at the GEC images they did a rough finish on the bolsters too... very appealing to me.

I think a few pages back, or in another thread, Mike mentioned how the micarta would receive a rough bolster finish nd the others would not. Good eye

Brett,

I am with you the Ivory and the Micarta are are at the "top of the list" in terms of desirability for me too! Lloyd

Has anyone heard anything on when the twin blade 77s might start showing up? I keep waiting for Mike's email to show up.

Brett, those were the 2 I reserved as well...They are both awesome in their own way!

I got my old red and smooth ivory. I can't wait to patina up the ivory. It's gonna be a dressy black and white tuxedo/ classic touch work knife. I'm debating on putting an easy open groove on it. I'll have to see what it's like once in hand. I'm getting excited. Choombak I too can't wait to see the stags.

Pics or we don't believe you! :D

I don't believe him at all.... But I think he means he has his name on them, not delivery.

Waiting on final counts to send more notices.

Just received this from a forum member. I love this knife! Considering I have an SFO one blade micarta coming soon, this will be quite a month.
