yup cause when those over paid try to get out, theyre also gonna want their money back usually and so the prices just keep climbing. so here we are

With prices all over the place, even from retailers, do we know what actual retail is?

you can take ur cues from the fairer retailers, like the big retailers for example KSF, or Bladehq, those will generally give you a better idea. Certain retailers vs dealers have slightly different pricing.

That's what I mean, KSF and BladeHQ are always at the lowest end. I haven't seen those prices from any of the smaller retailers/dealers. I don't know if there's a MAP on Charlie's knives, but just like GEC, it seems like there are MAP and MSRP dealers.

Sorry, I will refrain from that discussion as well. I typically don't question pricing but this has been an interesting run lately. We know Barlow's and special issues go kind of crazy.
I'm not questioning pricing, but as to why. Not to be crass or sarcastic, but why do the threads ban pricing questions. From what a couple dealers have told me, there are a whole new group of collectors looking to enter the GEC market.
It just seems some discussion from the veterans may prevent them from getting ripped off. I think it provides important information to the thread. I do realize it has become too overloaded lately, so I regress. Thanks.
