Nothing prepared me for how awesome this knife is in the hand,I had no idea.

It feels like its indestructible and heavy,though when I weighed it it wasn't that much heavier than the forum 86 knife.

I can pinch open the blade but cant open the awl with my hand.

So I raided my piggy bank looking for the perfect coin to help,looks like a 2p wins I may file the edged down for a better fit.

What an outstanding job from GEC and Charlie.

Now I can see why people become collectors. 😁

im real curious what those final tally numbers are gonna be, and im sure next years rendezvous sfas are gonna be amazing. i can see the clip marrow bone in my head...

that is correct, one of three general releases of the first ancients and four if you count the early rendezvous soup bone ancient.

I believe aerosmith put it best "dream on, dream on, dream until your dreams come true!"

edit: still hunting for the smooth bone to complete the three, i doubt ill make the 4th, supposedly very small numbers

This looks easier to put in the pocket as its less bulky.

The postage is either ridiculously high or they just wont post to us in Blighty,it doesnt look exactly bulky to post.:rolleyes:





Meantime I smoothed of the burs of 120 years of use and very slightly chamfered the edge of my old Bun Penny.
I wasn't going to desecrate the Queens image with anything further.



Then I used very fine emery paper on the awls edge as I had scratched it a bit with the penny.

I think until you've handled these tools you cannot realise just how solid it is,my 1949 issued SAK feels much the same.

It has to be said again outstanding job from all involved.

This is a one knifer,as in if you could only have one this would be top of the list.😇
