GEC #92 Talon GiveAway + 2 Handmade BluntCut Fixed Blades

I'm in! I really love the green bone talon. My first traditional I bought myself was the 15 crown lifter.
Thanks for the generosity!

Gabe

I'd like to be in please! The generosity of the folks on this forum is truly amazing.

The very first traditional that I ever bought myself was a Case stockman in yellow, I actually bought it's twin for my dad at the same time. Thanks very much for the opportunity to participate in this!

Awesome idea Logan my first traditional was a case small stockman. count me in for the fixed blades but you know I'm out on the 92 since I'm the one who gifted it to you lol.
Thanks Justin. I was going to contact you first, and should have, but I thought you'd probably be okay with the idea of it going on to another gracious recipient. Thanks again, I really enjoyed carrying, which I did often over break.

You're definitely in for the fixed blades!

I'm in.

I suppose my first traditional was a $4 Opinel that I got before going to Outward Bound. It started in early February of 1983 in the Pisgah National Forest. I used the heck out of that knife and wish I still had it. Of course being a teenage idiot, I had to have a Buck 110, which served no purpose other than being extra weight in my pack. It was also 10x the price of the Opinel. Can't say for sure, but my best recollection was that it cost as much,if not more, than a 110 today.

Don't get me wrong, that 110 served me well for many years and I still have it, but I didn't need it at Outward Bound. I'd give a lot to have that Opinel back. A replacement just ain't the same, but I need to get an Opinel for it's own sake.

What got me back into Traditionals was finding a rusty crud encrusted blob and being curious what it was. After a lot of cleaning and soaking in a variety of cleaners and oils, I discovered it was a discarded or lost Case Mini Trapper. The blades have some chips, but after a bit of sharpening the knife is totally functional. Wish I had taken before and after pictures. I seem to recall dating it to the early 1970's.

Therefore, I bought a Case medium Amber Bone Stockman and carry it a lot. I just have a thing for Stockman knives because that's what my Dad carried. Plus, I like having a sheepsfoot and a spey blade to go with the main clip blade.

Don't have a GEC, but am curious and would like to buy one someday. Got diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism on October 31st (yep, HALLOWEEN). And later when I got a Rx of Warfarin the price was $6.66, I kid you not. Take Xarelto now, much to my insurances protests (almost $600/month) and the co-pay ain't cheap. But being self-employed, no work=no pay. But I'm very thankful b/c there were quite a few things that occurred that were incredible in their timing.

Had a wonderful CHRISTMAS and hope everyone has a great New Year - except for Florida State! J/K but I hate your "wonderful young men who show a lot of character" football team.

I'm in. The first tradiional knife I remember buying for myself was an Ulster Barlow from a small junky pawn shop in Newton Ks. It was also the start of my Barlow collection.

I'm in. The first traditional folder I got was my old mans Buck 110 when I turned 16. The first one I bought my self was a Case Cheetah. Not much love for the cheetah here.

Very nice gaw, always liked those talons. Count me in, I believe the first knife I ever bought for myself was a blue case cheetah. Thanks!

Not an entry. I've recived quite a lot of generosity from this forum already! Mainly I just wanted to say thank you for such a generous give away! Major props Logan. My first traditional was a yellow delrin pen knife. :)

Well wishes,
Kirby

I'm in. I just got my first GEC for christmas, 78, and have already ordered my second, 66.

Thanks for the chance and for giving back.

The first traditional I recall buying for myself was a Chinese version of my grandfather's USA 34OT. I lost it years ago but recently picked up a old worn USA version. It's old, beat up, and has a very lazy sheep's foot....but it reminds me of my grandfather.

Thanks again.

Jim

I'm in. My first traditional knife was a Schrade 108OT I bought at a knife shop in a shopping mall in Midwest City, OK in 1983. I think it was about $12. Still have it.
Thanks for letting me participate in this generous giveaway!

Thanks for the chance. I'm in!
My first ever traditional was a Northwoods Forest Jack in smooth calico. I ended up trading it away.

I'm in! Thanks. My first traditional was a GEC #72 lockback with red jigged bone handles that I traded for from another forum member on the exchange.

Not an entry, as I have received a few lovely knives in giveaways.

Some lucky dog is going to love that talon, or fixed blade prize for sure!

The firest traditional I bought for my self?

Likely a GEC a few years ago. 25 barlow.

I had a stockman growing up. I also bought a stag handled skinner when I was a about 12 years old.

Im in! Thank you for the extremely generous giveaway! I love knives with sharp pointy tips. I believe the first traditional knife I bought was a swiss army knife when I was real young. It was a chinese knockoff but back then I didnt have the money for a real Victorinox/Wenger. Shoot who am I kiddin, I still dont at the moment! Haha thanks.

I'm in. Great GAW. The first one I bought for myself was a Schrade 152 Sharpfinger. I carried that old knife a long time. Then for some reason I got into Case knives. I have a bunch of trappers and stockman from them. Now in the past few months I've picked up quite a few old Schrades with that wonderful carbon steel. I've discovered though that I like variety. And on any given day may carry 3-5 different knives on me of various sizes, blade lengths and blade materials. I'm definitely a knife nut.

I'm in. I believe the first knife I bought with my own money was a Buck 110. That was a l o n g time ago. Bought it in my home town in western PA. The first new Knife paid for by my parents was a Kamp King. Had hand me down Barlows from my grandfather that were worn out before that. Haven't received any knives from the forum.

I'm in, and my first traditional was a Case Texas Jack in the 70's. Thanks!
