Gec bullnose

I live in Western Washington... also a lot of off and on rain. Please excuse the 38 in this 71 thread for relevance :p

I finally got around to taking some photos. Here is my new trio, Canvas, Burlap and Burgundy! :D

Thanks fellas. :D
Ron, that's pretty much the very substance of the whole lineup. I just think the 01 Tool Steel puts it a bit over the top performance wise.

Any way you can qualify and quantify the performance edge?

In my experience the 01 takes more work to get a good edge, but the payoff is that it holds that edge a lot longer than 1095. I can go a lot longer and with more abuse without having to re sharpen. If anything, a quick stropping and you're good to go.

My denim hasn't left my pocket since it landed. Only a light patina started, but such is the life of cutting cardboard and plastics with the errant and unintented biological/organic stuff in the mix...

Thanks Bob, I like your OD O1!

I just let go of my remaining O1... It went to a good home where it will be appreciated and used regularly by a great guy, so I can't complain too much...

First world problems, right?
 :D

Thanks Bob. I'm gonna keep bugging GEC to make one in 440C, because I doubt they'll use O1 again

Crabcakes, maybe you'll indulge a question. Having never handled, or even seen in person, any micarta-clad folder, much less one of these denim ones, I'm hoping you can describe the feel of the handle. Other micartas I've seen photos of are obviously of a glossy finish. The burlap micarta looks like you wouldn't feel the burlap texture. But photos of the denim are inconclusive for me. Do you feel the texture of the denim in hand? From your photo, it looks as if you would.
