I've been trying to tell myself that I'll be satisfied with the ivory bone Tidioute that I just ordered, but I'm not sure it's working. I really love the long pull and shield on those Champlin's

Very nice guys! Looks like some prime stag and of course the storied rosewood...really really top notch.
I will post pics of the humble 'ebony and ivory' pair when they arrive ;)

Well, well, well... Look what just showed up in my mailbox.

I am really liking the coping blade on these; I think it will be a wonderful blade combo. They are just my size and feel great in hand. Workmanship on my two is marvelous. Of course, I'm not really objective with them yet. If I find a flaw, I'll let you folks know. I don't see any yet.

Kris, the rosewood on yours has a bit more character than mine, but what a beautiful job you've done making those pictures.

Great pictures, and awesome knives. Who knows, I might get one as well...
Quick question for the ones who already have these knives: how comfortable is it to open the main blade? It seems there's not much space behind the coping blade (a bit like in the #15 boys' knife).

Here are some better shots, the stag is really nice!
The main blade is actually easy to open, the pull is in just the right spot for your nail to get into.
BTW, the pull on all of the blades is pretty light and very smooth.
Great job on these guys. The whole package screams quality. What a beautiful set with the boxes, great labels, blade openers, certificates, even the squiggly packing materials seem old school.
Thanks Mike & Derek!

unpacked my knives this evening, The tones on the rosewood knives blend in very well. The stag is the nicest looking I own, Mike said I would be happy with this one! He was not wrong at all.
Very pleased with this pair!! Thanks to Mike, Derek and the team at GEC, another well done!

GEC has the best stag on production knives that I have seen and the stag on these does not disappoint. Rusty1, your photos really capture the knives well. Beautiful photos of beautiful knives.

Well done, JBF Champlin, Mike, and GEC. My hat is off to you all.

#10s checking in. They came in yesterday but I could only take pics today. The rosewood is just beautiful and the stag is the mos popcorn-like I've ever gotten.

Holy cow! In the dictionary next to 'gnarly stag' is that picture. Amazing stuff. I wish I had heard about these...oh well, the Tidioutes should be nice...and then the Northfield? and the GEC's? oh, my.
