GEC Champlin Eureka Jack??

Man, Trand, you weren't kidding about the popcorn stag! You could lose a small child in some of those ravines.

Perfectly matched covers, too, on both knives. A real plus in my book. Many congrats on the pair.

Trand, you won the lottery with that pair. Massive!

I like the wraparound spring on this pattern, fine touch.

Thanks, Will

Holy Moly. Thanks for all the pictures, everyone.

I admire the extreme popcorn in some of the stag, but when it comes to wanting to touch and hold and use one of them, I really like the smoother presentation of Ed's and Dave's, etc. I also like the variegation in the rosewood.

Such an interesting variety of fine covers!

I'm glad Champlin included the rosewood information in the certificate and even the blade etch. "Harvested." Heh.

Fantastic production, soup to nuts.

I thought the word "Galvanic" was going to be a light etch but its literally carved into the blade. Really nice stuff!

Beautiful knives, guys. Really pissed that I missed out on this run.

And Trand: !!! !!!

To be honest, I've never really given the eureka jack much attention. I always thought the handle was a bit goofy. But these pictures are making me think twice. Not just the fact that it has a coping blade (I love me a coping blade), but that stag is just incredible. You expect that on a $1000+ custom, not a production knife. The extended spring is just the icing on the cake.

Kudos again to GEC for bringing back the old patterns. Is there any other company that even currently produces a eureka jack? I've only got a handful of GECs, and while I don't care much for the vast majority of their patterns, they're my favorite traditional company. Maybe it's because they answered my prayers for a sodbuster-like knife with a sheepsfoot blade. Maybe because they they do things the old way. Maybe because even though they do things the old way, they add their own twist to every knife they make.

I'm no photographer but here is my #11 in stag. I missed the boat on the rosewood and debated on getting the stag but now I am very glad I made the choice to get it.

Wow! I missed the boat on one of those. They turned out much better than I had imagined.

Thanks for the compliments guys!! These are nicer than I thought they would be. I'm eagerly anticipating the Tidioutes as well. I'll post a group shot when they come in.

Does anyone know if they plan to do a clip main with the coping secondary? I love the green bone, but I'm just not a big spear fan.
