GEC new #43 pattern, who’s excited?

Just in today my first #43...very nice fit/finish and well done edge, much sharper than normal. The pull at (~4-5) is a perfectly fine for me since it's snappy in all positions. Love the slimness and lanyard option on a knife of this size. This will make for a great weekend outdoors and hunting knife!

How ya do on the third knife lotto to be able to buy a 77 ?
Strike 3 for me wasn’t supprized in the slightest though lol .

My bad luck is still holding strong. I kind of wish they would only allow those who haven’t won one in the past three rounds to enter today. It would increase everyone’s odds who hasn’t won yet.

Agreed!! Same here to but wasn’t expecting to win a chance to buy one lol.
Think my odds are better waiting for a in stock notification from another dealer and then high tailing down there buy one .
But one more chance at power knife lotto and now that I’m not expecting to even get runner up it’s more fun haha ! I’m not so disappointed anymore getting the traditional sorry you loose again :)

Right now unless something happens I am planning on a green 43. It will look good with the NACB shield. Other than the 43 and the 77 I don't see anything from GEC that excites my interest till after this summer.

The frontier is starting to pick up some color.

I need to take my frontier out of the safe to get some sun light and get a tan to lol. But my Brazilian cherry with not get out of pocket !!
 
I have a green jigged NF lined up, but those natural canvas covers have me second guessing my choice. Seems to flow perfectly with the spirit of this pattern.

I bet it is. The Beaver Tail was one I had my eye one but I just wasn't sure about the jigged wood. I know better now. I really do hope they do a future run in a smooth white bone maybe in full brass like the 44.

Oh man smooth white bone sporting brass I’d be all over it !!!
Edit : I was hesitant on the cherry also but the jigging is perfect nice and spread out . Don’t like the jigging so tight with such a big handle and looks way to busy to me With some of the bone handles but that’s just my preference .

i found some rusty red 43's in stock so i am in on this also!

I prefer the red rust bone to the cocobolo, so i dont think i will wait....

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of this pattern. I thought it was going to be a bit too large, but I'm glad I decided to try it out, because the size is more reasonable than I expected. It fits my hand just about right when open.

The factory edge on mine was ok, not great. I went ahead and sharpened it the way I like it (which I do with most new knives, anyways, unless the factory edge is really good.) This one has no blade rap, though, so that's good. :thumbsup:

Here's it is next to a #74 Stallion. Obviously the #43 is a bit larger, but not by much.

I think this will turn out to be a much more pocketable knife than I expected it to be. Now I'm just trying to decide between a red lanyard or an OD green lanyard. Which do you all think?
