GEC Radio Knife

Philips is a tough one to put in a traditional!

Ok, I'm all over this UN-X-LD with the diamond shield, when it comes out Charlie. This is one of the best designs,,,, EVER!:thumbup:

Say the bottle opener wears out over time/use, would there be a way to fix it? How long/how much use would it take to wear down?

Honestly, think about it. When have you ever seen a bottle opener that is so worn down it stopped opening bottles? I have seen ancient antique bottle openers that still work, and even the really cheap ones you buy in a dollar store last forever.

For that matter, I was a bartender for several years and the bottle opener at the bar got used about a hundred times more per day than most people do in a year, and it did not wear down.

I think when the human race is gone from this planet, they will unearth bottle openers that still work.

Great to hear Barry, since I own several old tube, table top radios from the 1930s and 40s, this knife will come in handy for the purpose it was designed for, among other uses. Never thought I would see a diamond shield made for a great Jack like this one. Charlie you have surprised me once again!

Looks like they have all of the upcoming SFO's as projects in process. And the wallet is thinning.

I have my fingers crossed that the jigging is even close to that on Charlie's DE. Fine, delicate and brown rule the jigging world. ;)

JerryIsAlive and Old & In The Way, you two know each other? Just how many deadheads do we have on this thing? Count me in as one. And ummm... Knife talk.... I didn't think hippies were so forward thinking as to get something to open their beers ahead of time.... ;)
Add one more to the list of Deadheads! Great knife BTW.

Woohoo, I was able to find one of the Radio Jack models with the diamond shield and the very cool blade etch. It is a blood red jigged bone version, and the covers look great. As an electronics engineer who cut his teeth on radios, this is a very cool and very practical knife. Mine will see plenty of use in the lab and at my desk.

Congrats! Mine is identical to your's and is in my RFP as I sit here enjoying a cup of coffee on my front porch on a cool sunny morning in the high desert mountains. :)

I LOVE the Diamond Radio Jack. It's a perfect size, feels great in hand and slays beer bottle caps like Excalibur! Charlie hit a grand slam with this one. A very practical EDC if there ever was one.

Glad you like yours. The bottle opener on mine will have to be used after work hours. :)
