GEC Radio Knife

I don't see this ending well. My knife will arrive tomorrow while I'm at a sales meeting at a resort in 80 degree Marko Island Florida and she will be grabbing it from the mailbox in 40 degree rainy weather....

Based on the "Day's Work" I'd pay for an SFO with one of Barry's designs etched on it. :)

As it is, it will just be flitz and a shiny etchless blade once it arrives.

It is the shot angle, but some of the clips ride a little lower than others.

Got a Red Radio, and immediately opened two beers.
Caplifter works great!;)

I agree with you Barry, the Red resembles old Case handles; maybe a little more symmetrically jigged.

Nice iteration of the #15 pattern. I'll have to got turn some screws - maybe tune up my crystal set!:D

Thank you Liam! I appreciate it. :)

Does Flitz work on etch removal? I was gonna use Mother's Mag Polish.

That jigged red bone looks fantastic! Did you do any boiling with this one or anything? Maybe it's just your scanner, but the color looks as though it has already been pocket worn.

Really tempted by this one. Like the red jigged bone, but the place I have store credit at is out. Should I go ahead and get the yellow jigged bone, or wait and see if they get more red? Or is what is out now it?

I thought you might like to see all the iterations of the "Radio" knife; for some reason I received one in old style bone jigging and the rest with the new jigging style. Maybe it a 'one of' but I don't know. GEC doesn't like to waste resources!

Really useful picture thanks.

The 'new' jigging is really peach kernel/seed type and looks fantastic. I have to say I'd be disappointed to get the 'old' style instead... But, my dealer doesn't have any and finding international friendly ones is often tricky. That Red is IT! As for the etching, yes pretty poor but let the beer/cider run off from the opener and that'll soo fix that...:D:thumbup:

Regards, Will

You have quite the eye my friend!!
When I got the knife, I could feel a slight "snag" from the jigging, when I ran my finger lightly over the handles. I got a piece of 400 grit paper, and rubbed the bone, carefully staying off the bolsters.
Then I followed it with 600 grit, and finally green compound and a stiff rag.
Last, BlueMagic with a soft cloth.
It got rid of the snag (which would wear off in your pocket anyway), but it enhanced the red measurably!!
Didn't think anyone would notice on a computer screen, so didn't mention it.
It is indeed like speeding up the pocket-wear process!

I think these ALL look pretty good. Good job

Well guys I've been looking for another traditional knife that featured a bottle opener like my beloved Victorinox Farmer and stumbled on these knives.

Needless to say I have a new knife with ebony covers on the way!

Looking forward to carrying a non-stainless blade for a while.
