Ugh...gonna be a long night. Kid puked 4 time in the last two hours. Before he started, I was wondering if I felt a bit off. We shall see.

Good luck with that. I feel about how your kid does. Headed to work in a half hour, so it could be an interesting night here too. Luckily I only have to be at work for 5ish hours today. I believe I'll sleep tomorrow away.

Psy - you have a little baby sized deck on your chicken coop/man cave!

I knew it!
He was acting like he was deckless just to get sympathy.

My little girls been sick all weekend.
I'll be staying home with her tomorrow.
I hate calling in. It feels awkward.

Yeah, Johnny, I know how that feels. Tomorrow is a really bad day for me to be out, since we have our staff coming in from all around the country. Hopefully things settle enough that it works out.

I also found out today that my youngest sis is having her first baby. Really cool and excited for them. Not sure how that works, though. They don't have a deck.

Looks good daizee. Nice lines. How much do you charge to polish a blade?:D

haha!
I only polish blades that I've previously hand-sanded prior to heat-treat. I'm funny like that!

Are you going to The Gathering, Diesel-D? You can decide which one is my best. :D

A young guy from West Virginia moves to Florida and goes to a big "everything under one roof" department store looking for a job.

The Manager says, "Do you have any sales experience?" The kid says "Yeah. I was a vacuum salesman back in West Virginia ."

Well, the boss was unsure, but he liked the kid and figured... he'd give him a shot, so he gave him the job.

"You start tomorrow. I'll come down after we close and see how you did."

His first day on the job was rough, but he got through it. After the store was locked up, the boss came down to the sales floor.

"How many customers bought something from you today?" The kid frowns and looks at the floor and mutters, "One". The boss says "Just one?!!? Our sales people average sales to 20 to 30 customers a day.

That will have to change, and soon, if you'd like to continue your employment here. We have very strict standards for our sales force here in Florida . One sale a day might have been acceptable in West Virginia , but you're not in the mines anymore, son."

The kid took his beating, but continued to look at his shoes, so the boss felt kinda bad for chewing him out on his first day. He asked (semi-sarcastically), "So, how much was your one sale for?"

The kid looks up at his boss and says "$101,237.65".

The boss, astonished, says $101,237.65?!? What the heck did you sell?"

The kid says, "Well, first, I sold him some new fish hooks. Then I sold him a new fishing rod to go with his new hooks. Then I asked him where he was going fishing and he said down the coast, so I told him he was going to need a boat, so we went down to the boat department and I sold him a twin engine Chris Craft. Then he said he didn't think his Honda Civic would pull it, so I took him down to the automotive department and sold him that 4x4 Expedition."

The boss said "A guy came in here to buy a fish hook and you sold him a boat and a TRUCK!?" The kid said "No, the guy came in here to buy tampons for his wife, and I said, 'Dude, your weekend's shot, you should go fishing..

anyone have a BenchMade Mini Bone Collector?? last year I had a chance to buy a used one locally on the cheap and passed, I have since regretted it every time I see one..

have a little paypal money but more then an itch to buy a folder.. :)

They are nice little folders. I think the blades are interchangeable with the Barrage blade, too, so if you prefer a spear point you can have it on there instead of a sheepsfoot.

good to know, I'm itching to buy something (you know how that is) was wanting the sebbie and just missed what appeared to be a good used deal on the exchange (good deal being under 300 :D ).... crk is really out of my reach right now anyway to be honest, but I have to buy something to wing this itch .... :)

I agree with sky, I like the color combo and think it actually goes great together I also think the sheath is to shiny, maybe take some alcohol to it or something... Todd not sure what you don't like but I like it all, except the shine... I think its a great design and appears to fit well in the hand...

ETA: also my humble friend you are one of the greats that's entered !!!! hands down...

Well you Sir are to kind......however, I dont see it that way. Im just honored to be mentioned in the same sentences as some of the other craftsmen. Got a lot of respect.

here's a teaser, got some more pix up in the knifemaker's gallery subf:

Very nicely done Daizee! what are ya thinkin as far as a sheath?

Also, Its ironic/humourous to me that you mentioned my slanted plunge line as my signature. Ive had a lot of poeple notice that and some of my old knives identified by it. however, its totally unintentional on my part. I have my reasons for the slanted plunge line so it just started to show up on the biggest portions of my knives, but I never realized that it was so much of a identifiable characteristic. interesting!

I am looking for a tough, but slicey folder, myself and am leaning toward another Benchmade. My Mini Grip is well used and I may set it aside for my son. It's serrated, and I really don't like that about it. Anyway, the 300SN and the Volli are both in contention right now. If not that, maybe a Manix 2 lightweight. Hmmmm...decisions, decisions. I'm actually really digging the design of the BM Rift with the black and charcoal G10 handle, but to be honest, it's way bigger than I want to carry for a folder. Also, the BM Magumi is really nice looking and the details are awesome. It's a lightweight as far as Benchmade goes, but it's another one that just might fit the bill.

LMFAO I guess your right I have a 4x12 deck lol

See, don't be ashamed of your deck. You don't always have to compare it with everyone else's deck.

I've heard that if you have too many bushes around your deck it can make your deck look smaller. Now you don't have to go and rip out all of your shrubbery, but if you trim your bushes back a little it can improve the appearance of your deck.

Also, does your chicken coop double as a man cave, or does your man cave double as a chicken coop

Well it was going to be a chicken coop but I put a covered porch/deck on it. I need to finish it sort of been at it a year now lol. The man cave part is just my wife threatening to make me live in it when I was sort of stalled out on the walls. So 1066 came over and helped me do the rafters and roof.

I'll have to check out those BM's, also the specs on the mini grip, big contender there.... I'm not a big folder guy and even little folders like the sage II width bothers me.. though for some reason can't bring myself to part with it... the Spydi Chaparral otoh has pretty much been my grail as far as edc, with the delica still being one of my all time favorite folders..

Heck the way para II's are right now I'm very tempted to sell mine, sick and twisted as it is I'd probably make double what I paid :p
