Thanks for bringing this back to life. This is a great read and I was really looking forward to get to know people a little better....
While i might not (yet) consider myself a shark (Toddler shark at best) i would also want to take the chance to introduce myself a little. I am Simon, 36 years old, married to a beautiful brazilian lady which i know for 12 years, no kids (yet). I am actually German, to be more precise: Bavarian, moved to the US 6 years ago for work and we are really enjoying our time over here. To pay my my bills I am directing some research related engineering work for a corporate food company....building plants with new processes is great especially when it relates to new jobs for people to build and operate the things that are being put in place.
In my few free time I am trying to be a little petrol head to the best of my abilities (this is a hand down from my old man

) working on motorcycles, specifically old Moto Guzzis from the 70ies/80ies and a dream Ducati that i built over the last 3 years. I am also fascinated by mechanical watches, own few of them which i worship a lot but rarely wear...
I always had an interest in knives....not sure where this is coming from as i cannot report this being a passion that was handed down from the old man. I think I am generally attracted to excellent craftsmanship which is an art in my eyes. I never really went to crazy into the knife hobby beyond the aquisition of some nice Solingen and Seki kitchen knives from production line-ups.
Over a few years I also bought some selected few Hattori knives which i discovered 10 years ago until.....yes until i ran into Andy's work this year. I was finally spending some time outside on camping and hiking trips and needed/wanted a knife....so i searched the major sites to grab a good production models and after some months ran into Fiddlebacks in my search for some good outdoor capable blades. I instantly got hooked by the style and craftsmanship going into these pieces and researched the heck out of it. Hence I ended up here in the forum....lurking around for some months until i signed up to buy a knife...here I am, way to deep into it, bought already too many knives I guess but i feel I am where need to be ( my wife might see that different when she finds out how many i already own and what $$$ i spent

)
I must say I am not a forum guy in general. Apart from some motorcycle specific posting in another forum this is about the first forum I am really active in and I really plan on keeping it this way. Why? Beyond buying my first Fiddleback i feel you guys are a special bunch. You all come from different backgrounds and age groups but i feel connected. The open, honest and humble mindset amazes me here.
Now i gotta stop...wrote already three times more than i was planning on. Thanks for having me here and please be easy on me if my English is not 100%...i am also still learning the Fiddleback models, handle materials, etc so if i mess up please dont be too hard on me and help me on my journey towards Fiddleback heaven!
Thanks guys....
