Give-Away Criteria

Hey, Congrats 42!

No one is interested in the stainless version? Well I'll throw my hat in! I still don't have a fixed blade, and I too have read how popular and great the Mora's are, so I'd love to own one, even if it is stinkin' stainless ( :D tongue-in-cheek :D ). Thanks for another opportunity J!

Wow, only one person interested. It's yours; E-mail me your shipping information.

To everybody who has shown that little virtue called, uh... patience, I thank you.

The Buck 110 with nylon sheath is up next. It will end at this time (22.58) tomorrow. You know the rules. Have at it...

Hey, I'm not above winning by default :D

Thanks a ton J, I really appreciate your generosity. I'll shoot you a quick email. Don't lose faith in your contest, it's a marathon, not a sprint. I think people may be holding off hoping to cherry pick something further down the list.

Of course, if I'm wrong, you can just save a bunch of shipping and box em all up to ship to me :D

Thanks again!

Okay! Here it is! My time to shine!

I reall(llllll)y want this 110! :D Buck is the name everyone knows; when i was very young I often heard "Buck Knife" and in my ignorance figured it was a type of knife (e.g., bowie, filet, etc.) as opposed to a brand! And as the name Buck is the pinnacle of American knife making of yesteryear, the 110 is the iconic folder that everyone has seen and can identify. In my rather short time of knife collecting, I've repeatedly wanted to get one, but for one reason or another I always opted to postpone it until my next order... And every time I kick myself because I didn't get it. It's a tremendously classy knife and wreaks tradition and character.

Also, I think this baby has a pretty fair shot at being one of the better condition knives excavated from the tube.
- It's 420HC, pretty good rust resistance there
- It was treated with WD40 before being put in its PVC tomb, water repellent seems like a nifty idea for keeping away rust if you ask me
- I think the nylon sheath (as opposed to the leather) would be less moisture trapping... I get the impression that leather would soak up the moisture / promote condensation more so than nylon which strikes me as a bit more water repellent. It seems to me that the leather wouldn't be that good for that bolstered treasure contained inside.

And if it turns out the knife is not in such great condition... Well, I guess I'll be able to try my hand at knife restoration and what not :) Being a fledgling relative to pretty much everyone here, both my collection and skills/knowledge are rather limited. So naturally, I am rather apprehensive to experiment with any of my knives with sharpening, knife care or anything else you can think of. If the knife is already a folding rust stick, I think I'd be much more comfortable fiddling with it. :)

And one final note... I really love pie... But you have no pie buried in your pipe. So therefore, the 110 is the next best thing in my eyes :D

-- And of course, grats to both 42 and Shore on there wins! (Two less people to contend for my precious 110 :D)

Going to have to put my name in for the buck 110. The classic everybody should own, which i do not. It might be wise to give off the two 110s back to back, as I'm sure everyone interested in one is interested in the other. I have no preference between leather, or nylon sheath myself. Just as long as the knife is ugly. I keep trying to find one, but it just seems wrong to buy a new one. Buck 110's should be old and full of character. When i was younger, and before i knew much about knives my grandpa had one, or think was one anyways. Whenever he was babysitting me and drawing with me he'd sharpen all my pencil crayons. Pencils sharpened by a knife are just so much cooler when you're a kid. that was one of the last times i remember seeing him well. After he died i have no idea what happened to it, and nobody else does either. but I would love to pretend it was his with one buried in the ground.

congrats on the mora shore8.

I know you're withholding pictures of knives yet to be given off, but are you planning on posting pictures of the ones done, I'm curious about them. I know you don't have a camera, but yeah.

id prefer the leather sheathed one for looks,
but the nylon one is the same model i USED to have.
Whoever found it @ the MO river was very happy im sure

p.s. i think lock might want one more tho

I'd love to get a 110 because I never had the chance to try first hand this legendary knife. I have opinions on it, but without having really tried the knife in and out, so to speak, my opinions are like wind. Thanks JNieporte

i got butterflies:)
keep hittin the refresh button to make sure i dont miss anything

p.s. im really not an impatient guy i just get nervous when there is an opportunity for a knife

Is the Dragonfly PE or SE?

Awesome thread and incredible idea for a give away BTW:thumbup::thumbup:
