Give-Away Criteria

This one is for the Spyderco Endura. It starts now and ends at this time MONDAY (20.05)

EDITED: It has occured to me that tomorrow is Easter, and many users will be away from their computers to spend time with family. I'd really like the Leek (the next knife) to be given a fair chance, so I'm extending the Endura's time until Monday (not tomorrow) at 20.05. This will give users more time to get the Endura, and also give the Leek its time to shine instead of being the knife that was overlooked because nobody was home. Thanks all.

I don't believe anybody is trying to ruin anyones thread.

We just want to see the pictures that were repeatedly promised. If there's never going to be any pics, tell us.

If there's never going to be any pics, tell us.

If I win any of these knives (esp the carbon Kbar or the pilots survival knife) I will post pics... that cool your tail pipe?

So much ror trying to be polite.I'll wait for the pics.

What happened to this, Wally? You waited for two days and decided that it was time to say hi again?

I've asked you, several times, to stop posting in the two threads mentioned. I gave you valid reasons. I pointed out to you what rules you were violating. So, this "trying to be polite" that you mention is nowhere to be found. A little bit of respect for the Forum rules and this thread's members would be really nice, but I guess that's too much to ask for. I might add that I already covered why there are no photos posted right now, so please re-read.

Time to throw my hat into the arena again :) I'm interested in the Endura. I've been eying one of the EDC staples from Spyderco (Centofante, Delica or Endura) to make a decent rotation of my knives for EDC (currently really just a Griptilian and Trance are the ones I like carrying). I was leaning towards the Endura when I get some money saved up as it is a bit longer than my current knives and would offer a different "experience" than my two other knives. I had gotten a FRN Cara Cara (economic Endura) when I first started getting into knives and really enjoyed it (ended up giving it to a friend, she really liked it when she saw me pull it out once), and I would really enjoy having it be replaced with it's higher quality big brother :D

Just out of curiosity, which version is the Endura and what's the handle material? :)

Also, good idea on postponing the Leek until Monday

I don't understand what "rules" you feel I have violated. You invited me to this party by including me in your list of eligible/ineligible players.

I was originally interested in your "buried knife" thread, but it quickly morphed into this "give away " thread. I have reread both threads and don't understand which explanation covers no pics. You said your camera was fine.

You have accused me of calling you a liar...how dare I question you with 1,500 posts compared to my 20...tried labeling me a troll... threatened me with moderator intervention and in general have jumped up and down because I asked you to post pics that you said you would.

If you are going to start a thread and offer pictures, THEN DO WHAT YOU SAY.

Understand this. You include me in your list of players, don't follow your own rules and now tell me to go away. That's not polite.

id like a shot at the endura.

do i deserve it? i dont know, i have a few spydercos already. but id sure like to try an earlier model with the frn/saber grind.

i can promise that it will get used, and used hard when i have the opportunity.

You're no longer eligible, so please bugger off if you can't quit the whining. J will post pics when he's good and ready and not a second before. Crap happens. If it's getting to you that much, the "Unsubscribe" button is at the top of the page under "Thread Tools"

J, I wanna throw my hat in for the Endura as well.

As mentioned before, photos of the knife won't be released until it's won. This will prevent any "I think I'll wait for one in better condition" feelings, and will generally be more fun.

EDITED AGAIN: If you win, I request that you please post a photo of the knife as it arrived, in your hand. Thanks all.

He promised pics of the knife AFTER the knives have been won.

I'll go in for the endura, I want to win to endura because I love spyderco but due to the crappy US dollar to Aussie dollar exchange rate, a $50 endura in the US is now selling at $110 minimum around here :(.

I'd love to get this Endura.

I do have a Wally World Native that I use often as a beater knife at work, and it shrugs it off like nothing. The only problem with it is I do not really care for the swedge, and I have huge hands and would like something a little longer.

Spyderco seems like a hell of a workhorse knife, and I would love to give an Endura a workout. I am also intrigued to try out VG-10 steel. I hear good things, but my Kershaw and Benchmade buying has temporarily stopped me from trying it out. I love my 710, but am willing to try something new. Who knows, it may even be the start of another collection.

Of course, I think there is going to be plenty of entries for this blade, and I do not know if I deserve it more than anyone else. I DO know that I was almost first to post in the original thread, AND played by the rules from the beginning. :D

So, pretty please, allow me to try out one of Spyderco's flagship models and steels...I promise to post up some user photos if you send this baby to Iowa!

Either way, thanks for the chance and the cool contest. I cannot wait to see what these knives all look like!

I finally got time to post some photos. Here they are, and a brief description...

1. Mora Craftsman in carbon steel. Winner: FortyTwoBlades. As you can see, only the bevel was coated. I wiped the mud off the handle.

I would love the Endura! It's been on my list for a long time, but I can't really afford to buy any knives at the moment. I only have a spyderfly and a karambit from Spyderco and being that they are pretty specialized (and discontinued) they don't get a lot of pocket time. I want a Spyderco I can really use the hell out of!

Woo hoo! Thanks for the pics, dude! I'm really glad you only coated the bevel of the carbon craftsman--I don't have to force a nice patina on it! Again, sir, you are made of pure win. :D

Not only can you expect a pic of it in-hand...you can also expect several pics of it in-use! ;)

Congrats again to everyone else who has won thus far, and good luck to those who are still competing! This is by far the most entertaining giveaway I've seen in some time.

Please give it a rest. He’s doing something incredible. He should be applauded not derided.

Hey J, I posted about wanting the Endura on the second page, but after re-reading the rules, i'll play fair and do it again.

I have a few Enduras and I love them all. They are easily my preferred EDC. They fit great in my hands, are extremely light and thin enough, and VG10 is without a doubt my favorite stainless steel. No matter what condition the blade is in, I can always get that VG10 razor sharp, and it stays that way.

Aside from loving Spyderco and the endura as much as I already do, I'd like to get one that may need some TLC. I LOVE restoring knives back to pristine conditions. I restored an old rusty beat up KA BAR trapper a few years ago, and I have taken so much pride in it. I would guarantee that I would hold this Endura the closest if there was some rust or any other problems that I could fix with it and really take pride in owning it. Thanks for giving us the opportunity.

getin used to the rules also...:) winning this knife would be great for me mostly because iv'e never owned a spyderco but have always looked at and wondered about them,
always chickening out worrying that they would feel uncomfortable or strange in hand or that the blade shape and "spyderhole" wouldnt work right.
and i am afraid of the handle being "plasticy" and that i would regret not using the money for a more traditional style folder...
well winning one would leave me with no excuse:D and eliminate the x ammount of time i would spend looking at them in the future, something i would really appreciate.
I want this knife:D

p.s. the knives look great!

I'd like to have the Endura. It's a larger than average folder with great steel in the blade. I am also a Spyderco fan. Thanks for the chance at a great knife.
