Give-Away Criteria

getin used to the rules also...:) winning this knife would be great for me mostly because iv'e never owned a spyderco but have always looked at and wondered about them,
always chickening out worrying that they would feel uncomfortable or strange in hand or that the blade shape and "spyderhole" wouldnt work right.
and i am afraid of the handle being "plasticy" and that i would regret not using the money for a more traditional style folder...
well winning one would leave me with no excuse:D and eliminate the x ammount of time i would spend looking at them in the future, something i would really appreciate.
I want this knife:D

p.s. the knives look great!

Congrats on the win, dude! You'll love it, I'm sure. The way you fall in love with Spyderco is by getting your first one. ;)

I'd like to try a piece of Kershaw 440A. My interest in knives is the steel. And I haven't tried Kershaw 440A yet. With their switch to Sandvik, Kershaw 440A is becoming scarce.

Gosh darn excitement... didnt read the time frame for the Dfly again! I'll repost during the allotted time.

Give-away #7 (Kershaw Leek in 440A) starts now and will end at this time tomorrow (20.11)

Because I'll be out of the office and won't have access to a computer, Give-Away #8 (Spyderco Dragonfly in AUS-8) will be announced now...

Since #7 ends at 20.11 tomorrow, #8 will begin at 20.12 tomorrow night.
I won't be able to read this thread until Thursday, so I won't have any winners announced until then. The cut-off time for Give-Away #7 is at 20.11 tomorrow (Tuesday) night; no posts after that will be considered for that give-away.
Give-away #8 will run from 20.12 tomorrow night until 20.12 Wednesday night. Any posts not in that time frame will not be considered for give-away #8. I'll announce winners of these two, as well as when #9 starts, when I return Thursday. Thanks all.

Just to bring the new knives and time limits over to the new page so it won't be missed :)

Don't want to come off as pretencious, and it's not in my interests anyways as I already have won a knife. But for the time being anyways JNieporte has made a list of people eligible to enter thats on the front page along with the rules. About 5 of the people that have applied for the endura are not on that list. Weather or not he wants to change it is up to him. This is mostly a "Read the friggin' post" rant.

I completely misunderstood the first post...twice.:o Sorry for my nincompoopery.

I guess Knarfeng wins by default.

I'll jump in for the Spyderco Dragonfly.
Pretty much the same reason as before, I love spyderco but due the the crappy dollar conversion rate and crappy economy, I don't have the money to get any more spydies(only have 2 ATM) :(.

Now I'll give it a shot :)

I'd love to have the Dfly. It's a model that I have handled, but never had the chance to get. Like I said about the Endura, I'd love to restore anything that might have happened to the knife while underground. I'd really like another knife in this size because I only have like one other and I need to carry a smaller knife when I'm carrying my E4W in the scary part of town. (this way I don't have to pull out the big guns for small jobs). Again, I love spyderco knives and would love to own a Dfly. Thanks again J.

I would love to have the dragonfly. I used to have one of my own, it was one of my first nice knives. When I had it, the knife was probably my most used knife. So easy to carry and such a wonderfully usable blade., almost everything about it was almost perfect.

Sadly when I was in college someone stole my backpack. I lost my computer and a number of knives. The dragonfly was one of the knives that were took.

I’ve replaced the bag, replaced the computer and have been replacing the knives as cash comes up. I haven’t replaced the dragonfly because I have been trying to buy most of my knives in stores so that I can give some support to my local brick and mortar store.

I’m not at all worried about what condition its in. If the knife needs work I’d make it a project, something to make the knife mine. Something to make it personal to me.

I would love to have that dragonfly.

Oh and if it makes any difference my birthday is in a few days (the 19th) and the knife would make a great birthday present.

Ok, I'll play for the Dragonfly.

CRKT has left a bad, bad taste in my mouth for AUS8. Besides, google shows me that it is a good looking little knife.

Thanks for the shot.

E-mail me your shipping information bro.

Next up is the standard-issue Kabar. The give-away starts now and will end at this time FRIDAY night because of my very limited Internet access. So, you've got until 20.55 on Friday (the 17th)

Good luck to all, and thanks for being patient while my computer problems still exist.

I'm in for the Ka-Bar. I need this knife because it's one of those cool knives that can stand on it's end. I'm aware that this makes it more dangerous but I think I'm ready for the responsibility.

:p

I'd like to throw my name in the hat for the Ka-Bar because I don't own a fixed blade and I think it would be a good knife to fill that void. Glad to see the Buck 110 made it out okay, that is the knife that I started my son's collection with.

And now, here's a random photo of me doing some kali (karansa) with my daughter. I'm using two corn stalks as garrotes and she's using one...
