Give-Away Criteria

Man, now I wish I had posted in that thread. The knives seem to be in surprisingly good condition. Congratulations to the people who won.

Glad to see this thread picked up nicley. You guys were all just holding out for the endura...

That 110 has beautiful colors on the handle. I'm in love, thanks. I was really expecting these knives to come out a little worse for wear, but they look almost new. Some a little better, the opinel got a great color patina on it. Were these knives new when you buried them? and i thought you were crazy when i thought these were old beat up knives...

hopefully people will stop ragging on your now...

If I recall, all of the knives were new when I got them. The Opinel had a lanyard hole drilled into the butt and was sharpened, otherwise it was as it came from the factory. The Dragonfly had jimping added and a fob attached, otherwise it's right out of the box. I think that's all...

I think the packaging will be sufficient. You'll note there's no postage on them, as I stated that I wouldn't be able to get them out until pay day. They'll be fine though, I just don't believe in that fancy "ship it in a box" crap. Thanks all

right, well my paypal account is now verified. So if you send me your paypal email i can send you some money for shipping. How much do you want?

I would like to enter the giveaway for the Endura, as it stands i dont have any spyderco knives but would like to give them a try, I do have a couple of walmart blades of ok quality but I would really like to get a edc I can count on; my benchmade that I bought per the forums suggestions is plagued with problems...slop in the pivot unless you really torque the screw down (but then you cant open it reliably) the liner isnt strong enough to keep it from rocking forward and backwards... just Plauged with problems. So becuase of that I would like to recieve the endura =D

I would love to win the Endura, one of my favorite Spyderco pattern's that I don't have. Right now I have an Old Jess Horn and Wally World Native. It definately would see pocket time. Thanks for the contest.

Hello JNieporte,

First off, kudos to you for releasing the knives and allowing fellow forum
members to see for themselves the results of your experiment.

I'd like to offer you a proposal. If I win the Endura, I assure you I'd give
everyone a thorough review of the knife. You want pictures? I'll do you one better.
I'll do a video review of the knife and post it on youtube. I've already done
some on the two knives that I have and being a student, I don't have much of a
disposable income for knives.

That being said, doing the review would not only give me a chance to see one of
Spyderco's most famous go-to knives, but would also allow me the chance to introduce
more people to this wonderful forum.

Thanks again for this opportunity. If a picture is worth a thousand words, what's a video worth?

Regardless of whether or not I win, I'm still interested in the results!

Don't want to come off as pretencious, and it's not in my interests anyways as I already have won a knife. But for the time being anyways JNieporte has made a list of people eligible to enter thats on the front page along with the rules. About 5 of the people that have applied for the endura are not on that list. Weather or not he wants to change it is up to him. This is mostly a "Read the friggin' post" rant.

I'll go for the endura as well, if possible.

The reason you should donate it to my greater cause is because I require its sharp blade and grippy spyderco checkered black handle for my daily banana chopping routine. I like the banana in my cereal like I like my garlic: in paper thin, transparent slices for instant melting in 4 degrees (celsius) milk. the katana I bought at a chinese flea market for my fortnightly-night-ninja-missions/banana slicing is just not cutting it. pun intended.

I just noticed that too, I guess everyone is wantin' the endura.

Wow, the patina on the carbon mora is sweet! You wouldn't be interested in trading moras would you fortytwoblades??? :D

All the knives so far look awesome! I never woulda thought they had been buried if I didn't know better!

I read the entire post and didnt find anything about who could qualify to be on the list so I posted my request and followed it up with an e-mail to the OP asking if there were any unstated requirements that I didnt meet.... I wasnt aiming to anger any of the people that are included on the list or anything like that by perhaps lessening their chances of winning i was simply trying to get a nice edc i could use from a generous member here on BF....

I'd love a shot at the Spyderco. I cannot justify spending money on one of them since I don't really see what they have that's better than other brands other than slicing capability (from everything I have read on them.) I have never owned, much less even held an Endura. I have 16 ish Kershaw's and ZT's, so I would have some suitable knives to compare it with. If anything, I would really appreciate trying it out.

I can also do a review of it, just like I did of my ZT 0150 boot knife. ( http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=621549 )
I already have a ZT MUDD, Kershaw Zing and Shallot (S110V) all lined up for a review, and I'd be glad to review this as well as have it "compete" with comparable knives and an EDC report.

Thank you for your consideration, and I appreciate the time and effort you have involved in this giveaway. I've been watching these threads carefully to see the pictures of what the knives looked like when they came from underground, and I was quite surprised.

getin used to the rules also...:) winning this knife would be great for me mostly because iv'e never owned a spyderco but have always looked at and wondered about them,
always chickening out worrying that they would feel uncomfortable or strange in hand or that the blade shape and "spyderhole" wouldnt work right.
and i am afraid of the handle being "plasticy" and that i would regret not using the money for a more traditional style folder...
well winning one would leave me with no excuse:D and eliminate the x ammount of time i would spend looking at them in the future, something i would really appreciate.
I want this knife:D

p.s. the knives look great!

Send me your info; you win.

Give-away #7 (Kershaw Leek in 440A) starts now and will end at this time tomorrow (20.11)

Since #7 ends at 20.11 tomorrow, #8 will begin at 20.12 tomorrow night.
I won't be able to read this thread until Thursday, so I won't have any winners announced until then. The cut-off time for Give-Away #7 is at 20.11 tomorrow (Tuesday) night; no posts after that will be considered for that give-away.
Give-away #8 will run from 20.12 tomorrow night until 20.12 Wednesday night. Any posts not in that time frame will not be considered for give-away #8. I'll announce winners of these two, as well as when #9 starts, when I return Thursday. Thanks all.
