Going to try to carry one knife as my main EDC... For one year

I went for years carrying only an EZ-Out. Then years carrying only an M16-03Z. Then I discovered this place. For more time than I carried those two knives I've bounced around from brand to brand, trying out all the newest steels and different handle materials. Then I read a thread on the Traditional forum about going a year with only a Peanut. So for over a year now I've carried a plain ole Boker pen knife in carbon/delrin and a Vic Camper. I know, that's actually two knives. But I rarely need the Vic, and then it's for a screwdriver. I could get by with only the tiny Boker but the wife gave me the old Camper (her old Camper that she had for 15 years) for my birthday when we were flat broke. I can't not carry it. But yeah, I could get by with one EDC.

OK. I'm in. I have thought about it for a while and have edc'ed one of Shawn's knives for two weeks.If your interested what it looks like it's in the Bali forum.Look for Balibalistic and view my knives it's the Salvage Song.My old edc of seven years is going out to MR.Matt Cook for a complete re-handle it's a 29 kukri.This is going to be FUN!
 
It would be no problem, see my previous post. The shortest same knife EDC was about 7 or 8 years the longest was 29 years the average is 12.5 years. For me the hardest thing would be to have to change knifes every year.

But good luck with that :)

Lock up isn't what it used to be:grumpy:

I over peened it a bit and now it's a bit too stiff:o

I swapped it for the D4/SE and after a while the handle grew on me.

It's a nice solid tank:thumbup:

I think it might get a little tough around the 3rd month... But being able to carry other knives with is going to help. This will also help the slippie collection grow :D

I agree, the D4 is a GREAT little tank. :cool: When clipped I forget I have it on me untill it's needed. Gotta love that SE also :D

Do you sharpen with profiles or sharpmaker... Maybe others?
 
I am in, but only for monthly commitments. I am starting to feel like I am drifting away from my para so I will EDC it fist. The longest I have EDCed one knife was about 3 months, and it was a slippie.

Also that is one sexy looking knife So-Lo congratz.
 
hmm, I am also carrying the same knife for at least a year. I have a large classic I am going to try and go a year on. I am up to 4 months so far. Have a long way to go though...:(

With the sharpmaker. Took a good while untill I really got the hang of it though:o

You cannot go wrong with your choice of knife, it might even go longer than one year

well my sebbie has been staying in my pocket. Not a problem yet. Dont even really carry other knives with it, though I occasionally try to.
 
screw it, I'm in too. Gonna do my green SnG starting today 4-19-09. I've been wanting to do this for a while but never cracked down

I have carried my Vic Rambler in the watch pocket everyday, buts that has been standard for a looooong time now. So it's also signed up for another year of duty :D

My Seb has been with me night and day... From work to play... To cooking breakfast in my PJs since this thread was started. Not even one thought of "cheating" yet. :D

My true test will be if I pick something up at blade (cough cough looking for a large Damascus 21 ;). :D ,) this will be the true test of endurance. So far it's been very fun. :thumbup:
 
Right on! I only have one knife right now, A Strider SNG Tanto. And I'm going to be EDCing it for a looong while! Because I cannot buy another knife for a loong while!! lol, Laid off and can't buy anymore knives for some time. So I will be EDCing the SNG for awhile.
