Kevin,
Bernhard from Germany finally got his paid-for M3 after your gesture at Mr. Goncz and with the help of "Mr. Ted Bear"! The light which finally arrived had a plastic lense which melted away after a couple of minutes while the light was sold and paid for to have a superior borofloat glass lense. Also the paid for spare bulb was lacking.
After weeks and weeks of waiting for replacement parts to bring the light up to the advertised and sold spec from Mr. Goncz Bernhard finally pretty unhappy gave away his light for free to me - I did some more testing on it and posted it elsewhere here and on CPF.
Mr. Goncz again IMO only went half-way as the design of his lights do show too - potentially good ideas and no execution. He finally did sent the lights he owed while not exactly what he promissed in Barts case but at least what Bernhard paid for except the spare bulb for that matter and with a lesser and melting lens. For the other dutch/belgian guy who had to get his non-working charger replaced - the replacement unit still didn´t worked which Goncz flat-out denied as such would not be possible
So as far as I can tell all people related got at least something, nobody is happy which what they got though. My testing shows that some **minor** adjustments would probably make the lights much better but it is Mr. Goncz problem to not listen to anyone - not mine.
Another issue which still is up to some debate is Goncz overrated marketing hype in regards to 600-800 lumens for a three cell light which in reality easily gets outpaced by any Surefire 3 cells flashlight - even those rated at 105 lumen - and let alone the 200lumen SF bulb. Here again it shows that talk is cheap and the "testing" on a bench supply obviously has nothing to do with real-world usage of lithiums cells which under the measured 2.5A draw of the bulb used drop siginificantly in voltage resulting in the reported yellow beam and sub-par performance. Using a better fitting bulb would solve this issue quite easily but only claiming that a) its a fact b) its the manufacturers spec c) its tested by here Majesty G himself and d) everyone not obeying is f****ing his mother anyway won´t really solve the product problems .... and the forum is still waiting for lab results or naming of the lab the "independent" testing was done.
Overall it was quite sad that the soap-opera was stalling for a while and it seems we are probably back on track
If you don´t mind the wasted electrons / bandwith I think a lot of regular readers of this thread will be able to again enjoy this (need to come up with a funny name - maybe the "for-com" for the forum version of a sit-com ?) - so my vote goes for NOT banning the guy - at least we can get some **giggles for free**
