Gone and done it!!!!

I think the biggest lesson to be learned here is never pay big money over the net if the seller or company is not reputable.

My buddy bought a "real steal of a deal" in his words :P on the bay , a Nikon Stabileyes for "pennies on the dollar" in his words ( my buddy is a big fan of buying electronics online to 'save money' ) well the shmancy binoculars arrived and guess what ? No worky ! Seller was not even in the USA. He's mad as hell and cant do squat except cry to the bay and paypal and hope the seller didnt take the cash and close his accounts which in many countries is no big deal at all.

You could look at it this way , you got a decent looking knife to use out of it , I mean it is still a functional Strider and how many people really use their warranty unless they lack the pretty necessary skill of sharpening and have to send it in cuz the blade is dull...

$700 is a steep price to pay if you just going to spend the rest of your life bemoaning a perfectly usable knife , that is assuming somehow the seller does not buy it back from you.

Good luck in whatever path this takes you. :D

Well I thought I had done my research on the seller anyway (the knife itself, maybe not). He has been selling on eBay since 03' and has a 5.0 in all stars with a 2400 feedback number. I really think it's going to work out to the good for me!!

So who is this guy? What is his Name and Ebay user ID? What is his email and home address and phone number? I want to make sure I never deal with this piece of crap person and I think the knife community should "out" him and let everyone know what he is. He keeps doing this because no one has made a big enough deal about it. I say it's time to make him clean up his act or get the reputation he deserves.

Also, I don't think there is a blue tritium. Apebrains, I think you might have got a little bit of blue glow powder mixed in some epoxy.

Here he is. Scroll down a bit to see the auction.

His ID is Saint Cutlery Company, and he does have excellent feedback.

It ain't glow powder brother. It glows at midday. Tostig's got the evidence...

Where is that foot in mouth smilie? :foot: I have never seen anything but the green tritium. I guess since it is the brightest it is the most popular. It's good he uses quality materials but that is not an excuse to knowingly miss lead people.

Yeah, with that type of reputation on eBay and minimal experience with Striders, I think it would be an easy mistake to make for anyone in your shoes. I hope this all works out for you.

Man he evens says "This is a must have for the ultimate Strider collector." that DEFINITELY leads you to believe it was customized by Strider. Yeah VERY misleading auction let us know how this one turns out.

How can he have 100% positive feedback if Apebrains had such a bad dispute with him?

Well, eBay is funny like that. The stats for feedback are calculated in a weird way I've heard. You can get dinged hard several times out of say 1000 and still be at 99% or even 100%.

It's okay man. Chalk it up to the heat down here. ;)

When I got the knife, I didn't realize that it was all post-production work. I emailed Strider with a question on it, and they said something to the effect of "uh....that ain't our work." Suddenly, the DUHR bell went off in my head and I emailed the guy. The problem is, I had already left positive feedback. I didn't think I had a leg to stand on, as he argued that since it didn't say "Mick Strider Custom," and didn't have his signature on the blade (which I did notice), that he wasn't lying. I said yeah, I get that, and I'm not questioning your work which is beautiful, I'm just saying, it isn't a Strider Custom, it's a customized Strider, and you're misleading people. He sent back another harsh reply and said I could send it back for credit on something else in his shop. Really upsetting, just on principle, but like I said, I really do still like the knife. I've debated taking it up with eBay, but that was months ago. Not sure if I'd have a leg to stand on at this point. :(

That sucks. I wonder how many other people left pos feedback before they realized they didn't exactly get what they expected, or paid for...

My thought exactly. I'd guess many of them. I'd like to see eBay's dispute history on this guy.

So does anyone have this guys name, address, email, or phone number? I think there needs to be a thread in the GB&U forum about this guy to let others know about his shady practices. If no one makes a fuss about him then he will keep on deceiving people and taking their money.

I have not been able to find anything on Saint cutlery company out of Moore, OK so it looks like he is only operating on Ebay with that name.
