HERE'S YOUR BOTTOM LINE ASKED FOR
It started with a post, looking for a man in Texas who bought one of my knives and I didn't know his name:A VIOLATION
I answered your subscribers questions in regards to my knives:A VIOLATION
I was actually so dumb,I didn't understand; You guys can talk about my knives and I can't,thats self promotion;VIOLATION
As for personally insulting so many makers;it was only John Fitch that was directly insulted, thoughtlessly.
I did say there are many makers who need to work on there sharpening skills and I stand by that.Yes,a lot can't cut worth a crap and that's just the sad reality.Oh I'm sorry, you must be one of them.No wonder your feelings are hurt, embarrassed.
I took care of business like a man;I apologized by phone,by mail and on this forum. As far as I know John and I are friends,it's long settled.None of this is any of your business;Butt out.You are beating a dead and decomposing horse,we can smell your stench.
Somehow,you guys feel personally insulted;What ego's.
So that makes it OK for Mr.Peters to assassinate my inuendo, fantasy.By adding a disclaimer at the beginning [I'm not saying Shiva's a thief BUT] he felt free to insinuate, fantasize a potential reality.Bald faced slander by lies and inuendo.
I did not realize how deeply my inadvertant insults[don't bring up all the knifemakers in the world again]to you guys so deeply hurt your delicate ego's.
Therefore I deeply apologize for my stupidity.I never thought of any of you as people.I am sitting in front of a machine. Why do your ego's feel so threatened, insulted?
My insults to any/all of you was inadvertant,I don't know any of you,so yes, inadvertant,I am sorry.

-It is not a violation to post asking for the name of someone that bought one of your knives.
-It is not a violation to discuss your knives. It is a violation to post that you have knives available right now for purchase. That has to be done by email.
-You actually stated that your knives were 3 times better than the knives of the ABS smiths because yours could cut 16 and theirs could only cut one third that many.
-You called me math challenged for stating that your being three times better than the ABS smiths was incorrect, even though you yourself posted that some of them cut 7, 8 or even 9 ropes. 3 X 9 is 27, not 16. It would seem that you are the one that is math challenged.
-I don't think that calling people airheads, fools and brain dead was inadvertent at all. You knew full well you were insulting people.
-You also invited someone to drop by your shop because you hadn't knocked anyone out since the national toughman. A not so subtle threat.

Leatherbird, frankly, I do not put you and Gord in the same box. You both seem dedicated to your cause, but he's off on some weird grammatical kick which makes him far less useful, and he's told us we are not worthy of his companionship and still he keeps coming back - if they keep putting fish in the barrel I'll keep shooting.

I admire your willingness to go to bat for the guy - I do think it is misled, especially since Mr. Ki offers to beat us all up over what it pretty simply a discussion of whether or not his knives are what they are cracked up to be, as well as whether we would transact with him based on his philosophies, etc. It does go to my argument about whether or not he is a reasonable guy, but what the hell, it's his decision about how he wants to portray himself in the light of public view.

BTW, the Steelers played good ball last night and I was disappointed though not surprised Bettis did not get a chance to beat on the Seahawks much last night. He was exceptionally gracias about it, as was Walter Payton in 1985/86 when the Bears owned the Patriots by 40 points or so. A couple of the best in the game, proving it by what they left unsaid and untouched as much as by what they did and said.

I was pleased it was a real football game, right down to the last minute, the Hawks not having a chance at winning and still playing hard. I wish all football was played like this - I may actually develop a taste for the game again.

So I would not bet on it that folks here want to see you leave - I prefer a lively house and some spark in the conversation. Who knows, maybe some benefit will come to all parties from this thread.

Keith,
I don't know what to say. These old threads can be dragged up by anyone and read, yes,he posted what he posted and that is not disputed.

Parker,
I don't know why he posted what he posted in the past and wouldn't care to speculate on that.

It was a good game,a great game.Might I ask why you lost a taste for the game? I think free agency sucks myself,a team has a great player one year and the next he's off to the highest bidder.

How could you even post that "reply" from Shiva, if you've read his early posts. He has no idea who he is, or how he conducted himself, to be defending himself as if everyone else is wrong.

Loose screws or no screws, it ain't there upstairs.

The humor is wearing thin...

Admittedly this is no way for these guys to undo mister shiva's wrongs, but how can you say the humor is wearing thin. I'll never get tired of a guy who calls himself ........"sniper", that's priceless.

It seems to be disputed by him. He says that he inadvertently insulted people. No he didn't. He knew full well that he was insulting them. He says that he only badmouthed John Fitch when in reality he kept posting that the ABS smiths made knives that were only 1/3 as good as his. That looks to me like he was badmouthing all the ABS smiths, not just John Fitch.

The fact is that you are not disputing what Shiva Ki posted, but he is.

Leatherbird - I lost interest not so much for the free agency, though I would suspect this has a lot to do with it as an underscoring point - the league wants to/ wanted to expand and for economic reasons this makes sense, but how many folks really are capable of playing at a truly NFL level, or NBA level, MLB, etc? Dilute the talent pool and you really take away from the level of the game. Add to this offensive coordination generally speaking which makes for dull, predictable and boring gameplay, and a team with extreme talent and guts can go nowhere. Add to this the free agency, in which the contracts mean nothing, as well as the players running off at the mouth and demanding to be put back into play via their lawyers/ agents, I've little time for such things.

I was stunned when John Madden, inducted into the hall of fame over the weekend, could not comprehend why the Hawks were still fighting at 40 seconds to go. Is the game so formulaic now that those buying the tickets should be denied the opportunity to see exciting gameplay if the clock is not really a strategic factor?

I really used to enjoy a solid game of football as a spectator or as a player, and truly I am drawn to the USFL - these are guys playing for the sheer love of the game and maybe a shot at the bigs, those are the guys who will really bring out the fan in me again I would bet.

I loved watching the Sox in the playoffs this year, and watched the entire marathon third game of the series, as a non-baseball fan. It is compelling to me to watch those at the top of their game doing it because they really love it, and they were so damned humble about it.

Michael Jordan was the last pro-hoops guy I really enjoyed (as well as watching a truly amazing team play together), not because he was the hometown boy, but the guy has seriously scary talent and plays just because he loves it. Now I find out the locals are talking about the prospect of Antonio Davis and his lovely wife Kendra coming to town on a permanent basis, and I find the slight interest I have in the Bulls waning. Kendra has a bit of an entitlement complex apparently, insofar as a player's wife she is entitled to act like an ass in the stands, pick fights with season-ticket holders, etc. It really bodes well for the game and the team who keeps him. I'm just hoping to keep the guy and his wife in Toronto.

I am sure by now someone out there is going to make mention about "what does this have to do with knives?"

True talent is often obscured by a reputation or a personality. It can happen easily enough. Everything on the internet can be/ is multiplied by the factor that no one is really talking face-to-face. However, given the opportunity to make a few things public, some rise to the challenge and handle it well and with aplomb, some do not.

So here we have it - football and knives tying in somehow - I hope this makes sense, I'm trying to get it put together while multitasking at the office.

No, and as a matter of fact this whole thing has gone on way too long. There has been far too much time wasted on beating this dead horse.

I think that if Mr. Ki wants to let us know anything else that he should come here and post it himself.

PS Thanks Doug,good man.Oh,good strawman.

That is a bottom line :D . I don't think so.

Having time on my hands, as well as charcoal dust from the forge, I printed out and had bound the information in this (and related) threads.

And then I committed THIS atrocity:

http://www.fototime.com/users/OleyFermo@aol.com/Cutting

The larger portion of the severed tome was sent to the Smithsonian, where it has been carefully preserved for posterity. Despite official pleas from the Smithsonian, the smaller portion of the book shall be used at the rate of one page per day to test edges unless my demands are met.

The big 'S' has offered two hundred mil for the remaining portion of the book. The offer is just a tad shy. After figuring up all the money I've spent on medical bills in the past three years, and adding additional money spent for new shop equipment, I figure I need a postal money order in the amount of $.02 from each contributer to this thread to break even.

Pay up, OR ELSE!!:grumpy:

Send mail to:
J. Fikes
c/o nurse Ratchet
Lockdown ward C
Cuckoo's Nest, AL

And while I have your attention: Have you ever wondered if there were historically significant inscriptions graven on the individual strands of hemp in the rope Shiva is cutting???

I have.;)

Just after slaughtering Kitty, I tried cutting a copy of the Congressional Record, but the edge bogged down in all the red tape. ;)

Oliver, Jimmy's evil twin:p

ps. was just looking at some neat shots of a Shiva Ki 'Grinch' being tested by some of my friends in France. Very nice cutter!

Well, I sent a couple of pounds worth of hundred dollar bills to that address as requested, but the package got sent back with a mention from your mailman, I quote: "nice try, like I would ever go back there ..." ;) :)
Nice cutting BTW! See, even books can be usefull :D

Flavius,

Thou art a gentleman and a scholar! I wish I were either. As for the money not being delivered, it seems to me that postal workers have become a bit twitchy over the past couple of decades for reasons I cannot fathom.

Haven't forgotten I owe you an email. I'm just late, as always (which might mean I'm on schedule ;) ).

And as for you, Esav Benyamin... the time of the *ME* generation has come and gone! In lieu of Flavius' couple of pounds of hundreds, I've arranged with nurse Ratchet to have me transferred to your home. The ward here is barbarically overcrowded, what with several personalities per patient. Don't despair if the money doesn't arrive!! I can always be counted on to provide more excitement than mere money, even on my 'good' days.:D

Now, where was I?? Ah, yes, picking at my hairy moles...

Jimmy

Now this thread is heading in a direction that I like. It has nothing to do with the original topic, and that's probably a good thing.:D
