Got my A2 Team Gemini today. Gotta whine a bit.

Great to have an explanation by Jerry, thanks!

I guess my Bronze TGSE has a stealth logo. The lines are clearly defined, but it looks pretty faint depending on the angle and lighting because the laser lines are black.

My whine is more along the lines of whether it will be possible to do a decent electro-etch if I ever wanted to strip the coating. The font size is pretty small on the "Special Edition A2" and the lines are very fine. I don't know how well it would come out. Not a big deal though as I think the desert bronze looks awesome on this blade and I don't mind keeping it coated.

Really glad to hear how sharp these are! I know A2 can take a nice fine edge. Excited for mine to gets here on Monday ‘imma beat her silly!

If I got a special addition, I would want to clearly see the engraving. Special editions are more collective to me, and thats how the knife was advertised and shown(https://www.bladeforums.com/threads...l-offer-and-specs-coming-sept-6-2017.1518449/) . This is what appealed to me with this blade (clear original label representing company history, and proving its a steel thats rarely used for the brand). I'm pretty sure you can not re-engrave the lazer etching. The blade would have to be lined up exactly as it was before. To fix the problem it would most likely have to be stripped, then remove the stock to have a clean surface, recoated... then re-lazered. . Probably why the faded look is being steered to be a cool, original thing

So the shadow ones are fine line etched with paint between the lines and the regulars look more like the originals where the whole letter is solid/boldly etched ? TGLB-1920x1280~01.jpg

By the way, I would agree that this is among the sharpest factory edges I’ve seen from Busse (thanks Garth!) which is nice if it’s a trend. I have definitely gotten a few that were as sharp, or sharper, but not often in a blade this size.

I also want to mention that the spine and guard are a lot more comfortable to me than my TGBG and TG14. (Never held an OG TG to compare.) It’s definitely not finished in the regard the way a LB is, but it’s more chamfered than the above mentioned.

Here’s a pic, though it is hard to tell with my black coating.

Overall I am very pleased with this one! I’d thought to move it along as soon as it came, but I am having hard second thoughts on this now that I have it in hand. Seems like it would be an excellent user.

A ghost logo might make it worth a boatload more later on, lol. As has happened with other older Busses.

Is it lighting or are the handles smoothed down vs the older style which has alot sharp/rough ridges on it. Looks like a nice mix between hand smoothed and the harsh original

Apoc, is your logo just in surface or did it dig down into coating? Don’t think it would be etchable without getting down deep.

Most of them look like they only make it to decarb layer but apocs looks pretty deep and gold. Hard to tell from pics.

I love the feel of the black canvas handles on mine . I also think it has a nice smooth black coating . My bgwtf and ash2 had the smoothest/tanker grey coating ever. Similar to that.
