Got my A2 Team Gemini today. Gotta whine a bit.

I believe that only you can decide whether it bothers you enough to take action. It’s comforting that the boss man will take care of it. User or not, I still like to go through the rotation from time to time to just admire the awesomeness. Some like the patina of use and others the visuals, admittedly, I like to see the logos except on my sterile blades ;)

kinda wanted to strip and polish my blue one but don't think it'll etch worth a shit if it's got the same ultra thin factory etch. Dunno, maybe somebody will try it and have a positive result

Thinking on sending one of mine back

Ordered 1 orange 1 blue.

The orange is perfect, paint, handle, old style high vis logo.

The blue is totally opposite. Rough paint, logo looks near invisible compared to others who also got the termed "stealth logo" but my main gripe is the handle. Holy crap it is ROUGH . Maybe finish sanded with 60 grit and alot of sharp edges vs the orange thats nice and smoothed :(

From the pics in those threads the logo on the TGM A2 is a little different than the TG A2.

On one hand, I understand the collector issues. On the other sounds like a bunch of prima Donna's griping cause there's too much foam in their soy latte

I'll just throw this out there as food for thought: Y'all seem to be confusing a coated priced "Special Edition" end product with the end product of a much higher priced "hand applied satin Limited Edition". The A2 steel as a throwback is all that really made this a Special Edition, the rest of the cosmetics seem to be in line with any other CG/BG/coated price point blade. The more you send back for complaint work, the more we all will pay on future knives as one way or another, customers always end up paying for a for profit company's expenses.

When my kids whine, they don't get what they want, they get a lesson on why whining is a waste of time so they can grow up to be responsible adults who make positive change in this world. Jerry has kids at home too, so I can only imagine he gets his fair share too. So keeping that in mind, I look at what has happened in the last 8 years with some logical observations.

Public whining about surface corrosion on the very cost efficient CF got us... NO CF for years and when finally offered again as an option... yup, prices went up.

Public whining about "grinder gremlins" found hiding under a coating got us... surface grinding that killed INFI dimples without fully guaranteeing the elimination of all gremlins on coated blades, which by the way, are not advertised anywhere to be blemish free under the coating to begin with. Oh, and prices went up.

See the pattern?

To finish this off, the Busse forum is Jerry's house with Jerry's rules so I will copy & paste a very important sticky here for posterity... and for those who apparently never read it I highlighted in red the moral logic behind this:

If You Have A Problem With Your Busse Knife. . . Here's What To Do. . .
Discussion in 'Busse Combat Knives' started by Jerry Busse, Nov 12, 2010.

Contact the shop FIRST. Give us the opportunity to look at the problem and to fix it. If we DO NOT fix the problem or are so drunk that we refuse to assist you, (This has NEVER happened) then you can bring it to the forums and feel free to vent.

Given the proper tools, it does not take much to destroy a great knife. Given the internet, it does not take much to destroy a great reputation.

We have NEVER left a customer unsatisfied, when given the opportunity.

If you post about a problem before giving us the opportunity to fix it, your post may be deleted or locked.

Email both jerry@bussecombat.com & customerservice@bussecombat.com and/or call us at (419) 923-6471 (M-F 9:00am - 5:00pm Eastern)

Please allow at least 3 business days to respond to your email. If you do not hear from us, please call to make sure we received your email.

Seems like a lot of this is a little much. Never had a soy latte so I would not know how much foam is to much. Every time I end up having to buy coffee at a Starbucks I have to ask if they have coffee. I do know that many of the wines I have seen in the past few days wouldn't bother me enough to post about it.

I don' post about it, if I had an issue once or 3ice, (usuall my Goofed up)
Quick email to Garth, and BAMMM like nothing even happend, even covered the return shipping.
1. Patina rust spots.
2. Dropped a safe queen head 1st one time lol tip got little smaller.
All fixed with Very reasonable turnaround time.

It'll get fixed, just bummed atm. The orange though is perfection as usual. Probably rescale the blue as the one side sticks up about a credit card width over the tang aswell

Quit whining:thumbsdown:, use the knife or sell it.

This is not a collector piece;). Drop some $$ at the custom shop if you want that.:confused:

Also good luck finding a knife of this quality for the price you paid. Then itch about the logo being dark. It’s a knife not an advertisement banner.

Lastly it’s now “special edition limited run” dark stealth logo o_O

I got a used TGLB scratched and smoothed coating I’ll sell you for 7-900 clams. It’s a collector now.:eek::cool:

Over the years lots of us have experienced handle issues as machined handles have had rough batches and smooth batches. Understanding how machining processes work explains a lot. New cutters on the machine making the marks versus old worn out cutters can make a ton of difference in the sharpness/roughness of the machine work. My hands are pretty tough from ranch work, mechanical work, logging and other outdoor activities, yet I have had G10 handles that were so sharp I could not comfortably use them without gloves unless I spent 5 minutes and lightly sanded the sharp points down about .001" and perfection was achieved. My bruiser FBM LE was one of them and 3 of the SAR 3 blades I ordered new were also very sharp handled. Sure, it was less than ideal, but was it something that was worth reboxing and shipping off? Not to me, but I also like to learn how to fix problems efficiently so I can devote my time to other things. Others are free to do as they wish.

Heck, the original Ergo line had handle scales almost a 1/16" of an inch smaller than the spine and that was just part of that model's design. For some it felt great in the hand and for others it did not. A current model with handles out of alignment sounds like a legit problem for sure.

Despite all of that, I did not say people should not send their knives in for legitimate problems, just to keep in mind that whining publicly about cosmetic things that have zero effect on function might be a little excessive. If your issue is bad enough for you to contact Busse in accordance with his rules, then by all means feel free to do so! ;)

No Regrets! I am looking forward to seeing who strips and/or uses one of these bad boys first! :D

Yeah Ive had rough g10 before, no biggy,. This actually has some sharp spots but hell i got a full jug of citristrip and jasco "faster but nasty, also takes off cerakote"
