Got scammed of my DDR knife big time ! No longer stolen !

Greed-no, Stupidity -unfortunately yes

Well let me just say I was able to trade less expensive knives for more expensive knives before simply because the knife was hard to get so it is not uncommon tor trade $1500 for $2000. In this particular case it actually made perfect sense because the DDR is beautiful knife and some people want it bad maybe he didn't want to go sell his knives and risk the DDR will sell ! So it wasn't greed it was good deal he would get rarity and me? Well little more cash not even that much. So for me it was everyday businesses nothing suspicious there. And since he said all his money are tight up up in the knives and than he actually showed me the knife it was perfectly belivebel

Well, I think the greed part comes from most people here feeling that a 1/200 LE Rockstead Shun + two? GTC customs is a pretty damn crazy good trade for one DDR of any sort. Maybe it's just my anti-DDR bias, but it seemed like a pretty lopsided deal to me. Rockstead was at least $2000 new, secondary has seen $3000+, definitely a rarer knife than a gunhammer which DDR has made variations of for years. GTCs at least $1300 each, so you're looking at $5-6000 in trade for $3500. That's plenty enough bait on the hook to get many people to bite.

If it smells fishy...And true References arent checked and verified..ITS TOO GOOD To be true..Over zealous would fit well here

:thumbup:The baiting and waiting for the prey...is hitting its mark...

I am mystified as to why the OP hasn't followed my advice. Why go around in circles with the guy's mother rather than go directly after the guy who owns the PO Box and presumably took delivery of the knife? Call the freaking Rio Arriba Sheriff's Office!

Yes I will be calling them tomorrow I just wanted to have filed with post inspector first that's what they told me anyways, as far as the owner of the PO BOX the fishing trips company I called several times left messages and once was able to talk to someone as it is documented in here. I did almost everything everyone was suggesting , tomorrow I will be calling the PD

Have you called his local PD yet? Just curious.

This should have been done shortly after the contact with the Post Office and others involved.

The BAD GUY is the kid--Adult/Minors that prey on people like this especially thru social media..Very little way to verify many aspects..The kid knew he had a LIVE ONE..

The allowing ones guard down to a "TOO GOOD" to be true deal??.. Is the person that was led here to post his predicament..

I do hope in the end..The kid pays for his blatant deception and in hopes you get your blade back.. Its heart wrenching having a blade stolen or lost..
I have been there..But not like this..

The way I saw it was Rockstead $3000 (maybe) but $2000 for sure the gtc $1800 (maybe) $1200 for sure so (maybe) $4800 but the actual final price that I was calculating would be $3300 if I would get lucky $3800 My knife was worth $3600 so really no big deal here . I usually flip knives with $1000 + profit so this deal wasn't about me being greedy for sure;) .When I bought the DDR (as investment) I was hoping to flip it for double in the future who new Darrel will drive the company down like that.

Also let me give you example of making money on one of my knives. I had knife maker make me knife for $2800 3 years later I was asking 8k and was offered 5k that I didn't take because the knife is too special for me for only 5k. The only reason they didnt buy the knife for 8K was because they already spend 12k on three knives I sold them.

There are years I can make pretty good money selling knives (sadly not on BF) Its almost impossible to sell knife here for over $800 for me but the international market was good to me ( but I will still try from time to time;)). I love BF it's just not my number one source for selling knives and there is nothing wrong with that I still love you guys but saying I was greedy in this case feels like unfair statement to me that's all.

The kid was stupid scamming me like that I would be able to help him make even more money if he has knives like that we could have been friends and both make money, such a shame.

I understand you're ultimately the victim in this but you don't come across as a victim wothy of much sympathy when you exbound on your thoughts and intentions (trying to flip for egregious profit and thoughts of sending an empty box).

"Thinking about" doing something and not following through on it [empty box] is not something to get on OP's case about. People "think about" doing stuff all the time and don't follow through - if they did I am pretty sure there would be a lot less ex-spouses in the world among other things.

I never thought of sending an empty box or knocking off an ex. There is obviously a difference between thinking about doing something and going through with it but in my opinion that thought says something about one's character.

OP, I still agree that the punk shouldn't have scammed you, but I grow less and less sympathetic toward you each time you post.

Ahhh.…

I read the intial post as trading for 2x GTC knives and 1x Rockstead. I see I was wrong. It was one each. So I was overvaluing your end of the trade by 13-1800. That explains it. I take everything I said back (Except the part about me not liking DDRs. :p ), the trade looks more realistic now.

Just explaining and defending my actions not everyone will like it and I understand that we are all little different and we all think little different.

Yeah what it says about OP's "character" is that he was having cold feet about doing the deal and had a passing thought that he didn't follow though on.

I would argue that thinking about doing something wrong and then not doing it says more positive about a persons character than not thinking it to begin with. If you don't think it to begin with that means you experienced no stress or challenge to overcome. You just did the right thing, you didn't put in effort. By having a thought and overcoming you meet and exceed the challenge of thievery.

We are all entitled to our opinions. Obviously others agree with both our differing opinions.
