Sorry no pics as of yet but I have to say great pictures from everyone on this thread. Duncan your killing me with those Barlow's, very nice.

Have a great day,
Jeff

I just wanted to chime in that this is a really helpful thread to get an idea of comparative sizes of the patterns.
Thanks to all the contributors. I'll pitch in when I get a chance.

Does anyone else ever wonder what % of GEC's total production to date might reside in the collections (both large and small) of the people who post in this forum?

I need to take a new group photo for this thread, but my little assortment numbers 8 now I think, and those are just the ones I kept.

I think Trand owns half of all the #48s that were ever made! (or maybe, more!) ;) :p

Very funny Mr. #53 :grumpy:;) I think I started collecting GEC after the initial #48s were released and wasn't comfortable with carbon steel blades enough or you wouldn't be far off :D Even after, it took a bit of coming to terms that I should just buy what I like when I know I like it because I wouldn't be happy with just one. I'd have to check the numbers but I think I have about 40ish, not including dupes, out of the many more #48s offered.

I'm not what one would consider a Barlow fan Ed, but those two in Ebony sure look good!

Thanks Stu.

As to your comment above:

I think you're onto something.

Both the Boys Knife and the Tom's Choice Barlow are handy little knives - actually, at 3 1/2" they aren't so little. I like the looks of the Boys Knife better than the barlows and it is comfortable in hand but all three knives shown have the potential of being hard workers. I've been carrying one of the barlows for the last three or four days and so far it has handled whatever has come along.

Lovely collection Jeff. The yellow rose 66 is still my favorite of your fine group. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks Doug. The 66 is a staple in my collection. My 5 year old has laid claim to it and the wife has banned me from trading it :D. Though I have grown in my likes and wants as a user it is hard for me to ignore the comfort of that frame. I keep waiting for GEC to revive it with some new blade configurations but they already get enough of my money as it is. I would say the 66 frame is a great place to start for anyone that wants to know what GEC is all about.

I always thought that circle jigged bone was some of the coolest they've done. Nice examples!

An ebony group shot... From the top, #12 Powderhorn Jack, #15 Boy's Knife, #16 Canoe, #23 Pioneer, #33 Conductor, #53 Cuban Pen, #66 Jack, #68 White Owl, #72 Cody Jack, #85 Bullet Jack, #92 Eureka Jack.
