Great Eastern Cutlery ( GEC ) group shots / photo requests

Really helpful 2xdead, thanks. Currently debating my next in ebony: conductor, white owl (spear), bullet end or eureka.

Did they ever make a spear main conductor?

Thanks guys. No spears on the conductor as of yet, they've all been clip blades.

When closed, the clip blade's spine parallels (or at least echos) the swell center's descent to the bolsters so beautifully....

I have a hard time envisioning a spear blade within the same frame, or if so, fitting nearly as well aesthetically.

I think a spear or long thin wharncliffe can fit in nicely but as a pen knife, not a whittler. I think nail nick placement can be an issue with a non clip blade on a whittler for a spear. A WC might be manageable though.

What a great picture!

I've been alternately guessing and meaning to ask, what are you using as a backdrop? I've been thinking it was an outdoor stovetop of some sort or other patio [cooking?] fixture(?), but I now see that it has Teeth.

Whatever it is, its texture and iridescence have consistently provided great backgrounds for your knives and other accompanying objects.

Thanks Sarah,

The backdrop is this guy. My wife has always had horses. A friend of hers made this for her. It used to reside by the fireplace, but since we moved to Monterey, it sits outside in the garden where it is picking up a little rust. At some point soon, we'll arrest the further development of rust, but it does add some texture.

Nice collection Peter, I too have wondered what design you had plasma cut out of metal? I have a giant bass on my wall

Edit: Nice horse, I like the rustic look ;)

Thanks Sarah,

The backdrop is this guy.

Oh, my golly. How beautiful!

I never, ever never, would have guessed!

Too late now, but it would have been a tremendous game-- "Guess the backdrop," with different parts featured or revealed over time. Your picture above was the first time I'd glimpsed [what turned out to be] the mane, which was a real curveball to my previous wonderings....

I shall keep this in mind for the future, though I don't believe I have anything nearly as interesting to use as a [very good knife] backdrop, let alone with as much potential impact in the final "reveal".

Thanks! :)

All these pictures make me realize that I made a good choice in keeping my 2 GEC's and that I'm going to need more. Thanks for the shots guys.

I believe ^ is the nicest picture I've seen yet of the 2011 BF 85 jack.

Thanks Ed, the 2011 is the best forum knife yet. Looks good from any angle!

Looking forward to your group shot(s).

I'm sure everyone recognized the above as being Ivory and if not they're Ivory...the two below are Smooth White bone with the very bottom Congress being 1 of well 1...

Nice showing, Boggs. I like how GEC has evidently started using smaller text on the etches as evidenced by that 1 of 1 congress.

O, my.

It seems my little snowflakes precipitated a blizzard(!). What an array yet again, Boggs, beautifully photographed as usual.

There's really nothing quite like ivory; it seems to have its own interior illumination in comparison with other materials.
