GSO-4.7 Cru Forge V

Nothing here. But I don't think mine has been that long. Doesn't bode well for me...

I wonder how many of us who ordered these CRU FORGE knives can there be? i'm guessing less than 100 surely?

Good question BuckleBuilder but I don't think any of us really know the answer. Expanding on the question, does anyone have any idea how many knives Guy and Ellie produce annually?

Not enough! ;)

A while back, Ellie had mentioned on one of the threads that they ship out "thousands" of knives a year. If I had to guess, I would put that number based on nothing but visceral feelings in between 1000 to 2000 knives annually, but probably much closer to the one thousand!

I wonder how many are getting their knives shipped who are not on this forum.

You've seen pics like this one?

Heck, I'm not sure there are even 30 owners of Cfv 4.7s on here, but we know that more than 30 samples went out (LOVE mine).... How many have been seen since?

This subforum has only so many frequenters... a couple dozen? There's a lot more than a couple dozen knives in some of those shots... :)

OK - my secret "make a wish" daydream.....

I win a S!K shopping spree/lottery day where I get 8 hours to go into the shop and work 1 on 1 with guy to get as many knives finished as I can. I wold take an armload from each of those pictures!

Chiral, no I have not seen this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.,

Yer welcome  I hope my post didn't come off as critical. We forumites commonly end up missing the big picture which is why I appreciate that Guy & Ellie post pics like that. They're a small company, but their customer-base still goes WELL beyond bladeforums :) Or facebook and instagram or that matter...

I more likely was being critical. I'm fairly new to the survive Line and how things work. I let my sometimes lack of patience get the better of me.

That has always puzzled me a little bit with Survive! I don't know how I would have ever found them outside of Bladeforums since Guy and Ellie don't go to Blade Show and don't advertise. It's obvious they have a large customer base, I just can't get it in my head how that base has found them outside of the social media sites you listed.

One I did not mention was Youtube. There are thriving knife-communities via the other two as well as here on BF, but youtube has MYRIAD viewers. When Guy started out, he went on Equipped2Endure a couple of times, and he sent knives to some channel-owners with large numbers of viewers - THAT is advertising! I would bet on that being the cause of poor Guy's popularity ;) I'll be honest, I'm hesitant to send my UKE 2.0 to some of those same folks precisely because of the potential explosion of customer numbers. And from there, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and whatever else folk are using these days to spread the word - folk need never set the proverbial 'foot' in BF to know about S!K, though there are probably a number of lurkers who never post. *shrug*

Busse goes to shows... Has Jerry or Garth or Beef or one of the girls over there ever posted about their production numbers or pics like those above? That might be an interesting piece of data... i wonder.

I'd say it was YouTube. :)

Every time I see a post that i consider replying to in this subforum, I find myself thinking, "or just wait a bit and see if Fancier replies first, he'll make the same or better points anyway" Yer great.
