GSO-4.7 Cru Forge V

I'd say it was YouTube. :)

One I did not mention was Youtube.

You guys are probably right. Although I like seeing the things folks post here from their favorite youtubers, I'm not subscribed to anyone, so didn't realize there was that much exposure.

Every time I see a post that i consider replying to in this subforum, I find myself thinking, "or just wait a bit and see if Fancier replies first, he'll make the same or better points anyway" Yer great.

Lol. He can say in three words what takes me half a page :D

I more likely was being critical. I'm fairly new to the survive Line and how things work. I let my sometimes lack of patience get the better of me.
Dude. I've been there. I resided there quite a long time between orders. Being on the forum can kind of be a double edged sword of sharing in excitement while also dying of envy. The ever changing wait times aren't easy to cope with, but hang in there!

That has always puzzled me a little bit with Survive! I don't know how I would have ever found them outside of Bladeforums since Guy and Ellie don't go to Blade Show and don't advertise. It's obvious they have a large customer base, I just can't get it in my head how that base has found them outside of the social media sites you listed.
I'd say it was YouTube. :)
One I did not mention was Youtube. There are thriving knife-communities via the other two as well as here on BF, but youtube has MYRIAD viewers. When Guy started out, he went on Equipped2Endure a couple of times, and he sent knives to some channel-owners with large numbers of viewers - THAT is advertising! I would bet on that being the cause of poor Guy's popularity ;) I'll be honest, I'm hesitant to send my UKE 2.0 to some of those same folks precisely because of the potential explosion of customer numbers. And from there, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and whatever else folk are using these days to spread the word - folk need never set the proverbial 'foot' in BF to know about S!K, though there are probably a number of lurkers who never post. *shrug*

Busse goes to shows... Has Jerry or Garth or Beef or one of the girls over there ever posted about their production numbers or pics like those above? That might be an interesting piece of data... i wonder.

Youtube was my first exposure to SURVIVE! before I even had a Bladeforums account. I first saw the GSO 5 and SK 4 on Gideon's Tactical and then saw those interviews on Equipped2Endure.

A few years back there was a nutnfancy chance fiasco with some major surprise publicity.

Chiral, please don't ever send a freebie to a YouTube reviewer. I'll never be able to get another shipment of your UKEs. And I'm going to need at least 5 more eventually!

Today makes 3 full weeks since the official notification that the GSO-4.7 Cru Forge V would start shipping (July 18th). How many of you have received your knife or even a shipping notification?

I'm on youtube all the time, that's where I first came across them.

Mystery solved! :) Thanks fellas.

I know it's not fun waiting, especially past a certain timeline, but I trust that as soon as people here start getting shipping notices and deliveries we'll hear about it.

YouTube has definitely been a big influence. In the beginning, Guy used youtube to show what the knives were and what they could do. The ex-business partner was a marketer and definitely continued the YouTube approach. Just to clarify though, we don't really send out free review samples so a lot of the videos you see on there (especially more recent ones) are from folks who actually bought the knife. I turn down a lot of requests for review knives so I felt I should mention that.

I believe that most of our popularity comes from simple word of mouth though. We get a lot of emails from hunting buddies, team members, family members and other folks who associate with SURVIVE! owners. All along the lines of, "My [insert association] has a GSO-[insert model number] and I want one! We did [insert feats] and it did great. Can I please get on the list for one?!"

I'm certainly trying to do my part, word of mouth can be the best advertising (or worse but certainly not the case for SKs), I've been passing the word to many of my friends and those I served in the Army with. Just don't see a better knife with a price/performance ratio as SKs has and only regret I have is not stumbling onto these before I did.

Great news to hear Zamboni! I'm hoping mine will be coming through soon , order number 8593 ordered on 4/16. I will go back to quietly but no so patiently waiting.

I ordered on 4/23, guess i'll be waiting for a while yet. Good to see another batch going out though.

I did order sooner.... fingers crossed for Monday, hoping one of those black handled ones has my name on it.
