Normally it isn't a big deal but the timing was a bit off in this recent go 'round. My stress level couldn't handle any more so I just said "f-it" and stepped off for a little while. Since we are on the topic though, let's keep June awesome. Our schedule is as follows:
Week 1: Guy and I will be out of town. (since you will probably ask: it is not a honeymoon. Rather the best of a bad situation, we will be in Hawaii for a funeral)
Week 2: I won't be around much as a good friend (who I haven't seen in a few years) will be in town.
Week 3: Guy will be out of town, returning with his grandmother.
Week 4: Christian won't be around much, his family will be in town.

After that things should settle in. With Guy's grandmother being here we are actually expecting things to be a lot more productive. That will be one less thing hanging over Guy's head everyday, they are very close so it has been really hard for us to be so far away from her. As a bonus, she does amazing things in the kitchen, meaning we will be eating a lot healthier than we do now.

In case you missed the latest round of excuses on the other thread.

You know, I was going to leave it alone but I can't.

I read this and it comes across as snarky. I'm sure it wasn't meant that way since we're all reasonable people filled with compassion and understanding. We wish things were going a bit quicker but we realize that it isn't all about us and the people that work at Survive are, in fact, people and may have lives outside the shop. And sometimes those lives are dealt unexpected hands. That doesn't equate to "excuses".

I know the wait is rough but the product is worth it. Having to exercise patience sucks but it is the way it is.

Again, I'm sure it wasn't meant in the way it reads...cuz that would qualify as "D-Bag Award" worthy.

Not really sure why you call a funeral, moving a grandmother from PA to ID or taking a few days off an excuse. A little crass don't you think?

Well said. Simple and to the point. And not even inflammatory, as well might be justified.

It is better to have more lighting in the hand than thunder in the mouth....Apache Proverb.

I'm sure you also work 365 days a year don't take any time off etc...
Dude there is something called a life: try it
Lol---exactly and that's why the eta on the GSO 6's is gonna take a little longer than the Fall of this year. Sorry dude I couldn't resist. No offense.

I don't expect people to work and have no life just so we can have a product. Knives are more of a hobby than a life necessity :D
I just like to know how long I have to wait that's all

Not sure of the intent of the comment, but I think the whole situation with Survive! has become more and more strained, and there is plenty to point to as both the oddity of the continuous delays and the optimism of their being a relative young company with growing pains. I have seen nothing of recent that has been reassuring, being objective doesn't necessarily imply being critical, but being overly optimistic can be equally damaging.

I am not trying to be confrontational but there are a TON of small shop knife shops like S!K where the wait is a MIN of 12 months. It is what it is. Believe me when I tell you they are aware of the delay. One of the reasons for the delay is quality control. Guy WILL NOT release knives that don't meet his very high expectations. I've tried to get him to sell me some of his test knives, like the corrosion test knives and a few test blades, and items he was testing an ultimately rejected for general release. He won't let anything out of his shop unless it was perfect. I don't blame you for getting frustrated. When I found S!Ks 3 years ago I couldn't get a knife for almost 6 months and I had to buy it off of eBay, a GSO 6. So long story short, we all just have to deal with it, except for Mondays when you actually have a chance to buy a knife.

So unless this is about a GSO 4.7 let's STOP THE BITCHING in this string. If you feel you have to bitch start a new string.

So you are the thread moderator, or don't you realize that comments are being made regarding the 4.7's that have been on order for 14 months......take YOUR fan boy enthusiasm elsewhere....or else stop being condescending.

Not the thread moderator just sick and tired of people like you bitching about it waiting for knives. Most of us have been waiting as long as you.

El Conquistador was certainly entitled to his opinion (referring to Ellie's heads up post as excuses) but did he have to copy & paste on here? Well, I would not had done it in such manner and then would certainly not have opined as so, but that's just me and I think quite a large majority of Survive! forum members. The dissenters are certainly entitled to their opinion as reflected by their feelings, but I doubt if either camp will be able to move the needle an iota!

There are a few great little workshops here in the U.S. producing knives. I didn't know Survive! from survive up until 3 months ago and the more I read and found out, the more active I became and I have already spent money with them by placing 4 separate orders in an effort to acquire their products and feel their tools in my own hands to find out for myself. So far, I am very impressed with what I have seen but this would not stop me from looking around and spending some money with other knife makers too as I like to spread things around to find out and discover things for myself. If some of you are in similar situation, well you and I can wait but not willing to wait indefinitely if projected targets keep getting moved around and some even pushed back. If this was your one shot thing and you had put all your eggs in one proverbial basket, I feel your pain but knowing knife nuts, I don't know of anyone who does that!

Personally I am willing to accept what Ellie had posted as a statement of facts rather than more excuses. That said, I would be quite disappointed if we still have no further news regarding the current "Finishing Up" phase come July or August. This is not really that complicated.

Text can be terrible to have to interpret intent, but from how well I know OBX, I'm thinking his last statement was pretty general and if anything aimed more at Conquistador rather than you, winger.

Conquistador, come on, you're better than that.

I think my frustration (and maybe for others here) comes from wanting S! to keep their standards high and keep their sanity and get their well earned vacation and to send me my knife RIGHT NOW. We can't have it all and really the only option we have if we want to spend money with them is to sit back and trust they're doing things the right way and the beat they know how... and personally I have no doubts about that.

EDIT: I took too long posting and maybe got proven wrong about intent and directed comments, but since we don't have a mod here, let's just try harder to play nice.

I wish they would've taken the whole month off. Getting burned out from the workload is the biggest threat to knives getting put out IMO.

Looking forward to the CruForgeV 4.7, I think it'll make my 5.1 sweat it's future home a little bit.

Yep---gotta agree here with above statement and with post 995.
