Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Yesterday I must have spent a good ten minutes looking for my glasses until I discovered I had them on.:p

A couple of days ago, I walked to the bottom of my street before I realised that I didn't have my reading glasses in my pocket. I went back home and grabbed the case. Later, I discovered that the case was empty! o_O:rolleyes:

Thanks on behalf of everyone for your fantastic photos of the Victorian High Country, a place very dear to my heart. Loved the photos of the Dargo pub and the flathead tails. Just makes me want to prop at the bar with a few pots, then sit down next to the open fire with a nice bottle of wine and a feed of flat head. Also thank you for the official welcome to the Guardians Of The Lambsfoot. I am currently trying to navigate my way around to post some pictures myself, currently adding to my Lambsfoot collection. But have a new phone and did not come with a USB connection to transfer photos to my computer, so i have to get one of those first. Thank you everyone for welcoming me into your fantastic world, but you are costing me some bugs bunny!!!;)

Welcome cudgee, to this wonderful thread!:)

Mr. Black I submit my application into the Guardians of the Lambsfoot.

It arrived today and Ms Sarah and Ms Jane picked me out a beautiful knife. Therefore her name is Sarah Jane.

It is a really wonderful knife, f&f is not perfect however it is very close and more than acceptable for a user. Smooth action that needs a little flush. It is extremely sharp. All that means I am very pleased and will get it into my pocket tomorrow to start enjoying as soon as possible.

Awesome Buffalo horn and good photos!;)

I've got to dash now, but I'm taking Miss Lucy out for lunch ;) Have a good day folks

Hope you and Lucy had a good lunch.

Very nice picture.

Great picture. We had those buses in the town I grew up in. I know they are popular in England, not so much here in the U.S.

Good morning, Dave. Hope you are adjusting well to the new town.

As you all know a knife is but a tool we carry to accomplish a task. We don't know what task it will be when we select our knife and put it in our pocket, so we attempt to pick the best tool we can. We don't know when the task will come, so we choose to have our knife always handy. The knife must be able to handle any task down to the most mundane, like sharpening a pencil when no other sharpener is available.
SJ, was up to her first task.

Greg, that looks like a homemade brownie. Tasty.

It was actually a Starbucks brownie that they warmed up for me. Uncharacteristically, it made it home before I bit into it, so I decided to make a photo op on my cutting board.

It was actually pretty good, but I still prefer homemade. Especially homemade cream cheese brownies. Yum!

Loonnnnngggggg day Greg! :D Yes, I took some pics of my knife just resting on the various contents of my mate's tool stall :)

I hope we can have that pint together one day my friend :)

You do get to see some fine old tools, Jack.

And, me too. :)

That's the problem with this thread; we miss the knives for looking at all the food :D.

:D

Rather than Guardians T-shirts maybe we need Guardians lunch boxes. ;)

Glad to see it already being put to use. Not surprised at all that it handled the task. :)

Sarah Jane is a beautiful horn lambsfoot, Jiki!:thumbsup::cool: Do you think you'll try using her to whittle one of your amazing "little guys"?

Sorry Ron! :D That was from the first non-standard batch I had from Wright's, ebony wasn't generally available as a cover option then, and I asked for that with a polished blade, and the etch, which they'd discontinued previously. I think I got 5 or half a dozen made, and gave them to friends :)
Thanks Jack! My first Wright’s was my Rosewood Bigun which I bought on the auction site. It’s a great knife, but it’s obviously a 2nd quality. This Ebony was my first introduction to Wright’s first quality knives. It is definitely a beautiful knife. The Ebony is rich and buttery smooth! It is one of my favorites! :)

I got an “Out for delivery” notice this morning for my Waynorth Lambsfoot knives! :D I’m totin an Ironwood to hold me over until this evening! Y’all have a great day! :D

I came to this forum for many reasons, one was to get some info on the Lambsfoot blade, boy did I get it. Now I just need to find a good source to procure one. None of my local knife shops have them available. It looks like a perfect utility edc knife, shame I've neglected to own one for the 20 years I have been buying knives.

Lovely photo Dwight
Thank you Jack. I hope you have a great weekend.

Jack, I have no idea  other than huge backlogs of parcels warehoused until Customs has scanned and inspected all the incoming parcels.
If I have mail coming from the USA it normally takes ten to fourteen days.
Dave is it also slow when you are mailing from inside Canada internationally?

Right, have emailed myself a photo. Now what do i do? Remember, i am a knuckle dragging neanderthal, who got confused by plastacine in grade one. Technology and me are natural enemies, so be gentle. In laymans terms, simple instructions-PLEASE.
On my laptop I open the email and right click on the photo. A list of options are presented and I click on "save to photos". The photo is then moved to my photos. At that point I can go to my photos and choose the photo and - post it, email it, edit it... etc. I hope that helps! :)

SJ, was up to her first task.
Sarah Jane is a real looker.

Happy Friday, Guardians! I hope it's a good day that leads into a great weekend for everyone.
Beautiful shot Greg and there is that incredible cup again!

Thanks. I don't think I've ever seen one over here.
The upper deck used to be the smoking section. Not a problem, when one was young and thought oneself cool. There's probably no smoking anywhere now.

Hope you and Lucy had a good lunch.

Good morning, Dave. Hope you are adjusting well to the new town.

We did thanks John :) Thank you for the compliment :) I didn't realise you had double-deckers across the pond at all. Off-hand, I don't recall having seen them anywhere outside Britain and Ireland

Good Morning Guardians
Waking up to my Lambsfoot and some coffee... I'll take some better pictures when the sun wakes up. :)

Cool pic John  @herder kindly sent me a gift package the other day, including an item from Cabela's :) I'd never heard of them before

The Lambsfoot is the most versatile blade shape I know of :)

I am lucky in that respect, despite the almost complete disappearance of the country's manufacturing industry, the place is still awash with good quality old tools. I was admiring a lovely roofing hammer this week, but have absolutely no use for one I'm afraid :D

Wright's ebony was excellent during that period Ron :) Hope your Waynorth cutlery shows up. In the meantime, your Ironwood '19 is a great example of this year's Guardians run :)

Great balancing act Greg, I wish I was that limber! :D The same to you my friend :)

A great reason to join BF :) A Lambsfoot is a must, hope you can find one

Thank you Dwight, well the weather is decent at least :) Someone gave a good link to a thread in the Technical forum recently on the subject of posting images. Since it comes up so often, perhaps I could add it to Post #1 if anyone can remember which thread it was

Thanks. I don't think I've ever seen one over here.
The upper deck used to be the smoking section. Not a problem, when one was young and thought oneself cool. There's probably no smoking anywhere now.

At least the buses were better ventilated back then! :D Do you remember the match-strikes and ashtrays on the backs of the seats Jer? I can remember when, on single deckers, the smoking section was the rear half of the bus! No, no smoking virtually anywhere now

My fault. I was off taking the picture.

Oh, I thought it was my connection! :D
