Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

My Lambfoot Journey: I've always been partial to the straight edge of the sheep foot blade on the stock knives that I often have carried - easily sharpened and works so well for so many daily uses. When I found the Case swayback with it's warncliff blade I had to have one and it's a dandy little knife. Then, I found Bladeforum! And soon after, the Guardians thread. Hah! The LAMBFOOT is THE knife! So, I sent off to Sheffield for my very own A. Wright and Sons Lamb foot knife! Awesome little guy with it's horn handle and snappy spring and so handy straight edge. Been enjoying it for about a year now.
So, then one day, I must have been napping, because there was all this talk about the Waynorth Lamb foot from Great Eastern and I was too late to order one and people were already showing theirs off! Dang, I missed it! So, I thought there may be the off chance I could find an old one online somewhere, and wouldn't you know it - I did! An old IXL that looks like the inspiration for the Waynorth, and from a seller in Sheffield, England to boot. It never even left home! Hah.
A day or so later, I then found one of Charlie's knives on the web, and though I paid way too much, I now have one of those masterpieces too!
Anyhow, let's see if I can post a few pictures.
Ben
Welcome to the Guardians Ben. :) It sounds like you have started your Lambsfoot journey with three excellent choices! You will definitely need to learn how to post photos. This bunch won’t believe a word you say unless you can show the proof! ;):D Lol, just kidding, but we all do love the show and tell!

Great stuff, Guardians! It’ll be tomorrow before I properly catch up, but I wanted to hit reply on this one while it was fresh in my mind...

If you end up liking using a tripod, then consider getting a cable release for the camera.

For the iPhone users, a tip I learned a few months ago is that the earbuds with built-in microphone and volume controls can act as a shutter release. Just plug them in and then press either the volume up or volume down button—I forget which, and it may depend on model—to snap the photo.

That forge is something my friend bought I can't remember where at the moment but I will ask when I talk to him. I have a new found respect for all the forgers out there. I was actually a bit sore after! o_O

One from the other day.

Aye I had a go at forging once years ago, at an agricultural show I think, when I was a lot stronger than what I am now. I was utterly beat after about 3 minutes :(:D

Cheers mate. Yes there’s two types of hunting for deer in Australia: stalking on foot (or 'still hunting' as the Scots call it), and hound hunting, where dogs are used to try to flush deer from an area of a few square kilometres, which has previously been scouted for fresh sign, with hunters positioned at strategic places to try to catch sight of the deer as they sneak out of the patch, ahead of the dogs. The dogs are never used to actually bite or bring down the game - in fact it’s illegal to use a dog which has any history of biting quarry.

When stalking it’s usually best to hunt areas which are not permitted for hound hunting.

Sambar are legendary for their skill at evasion, having adapted over many millennia to elude their three main apex predators: tigers, wild hunting dog packs (Dholes), and humans.

Victorian era ‘childminding’ while both parents had to go to work sometimes involved a stiff dose of this:

No prizes for guessing what the active ingredient was!

Thanks for the explanation Chin. The biggest thing I've 'hunted' was foxes years ago.
I reckon we could a learn a lesson about childminding from the Victorians. Looks like they had the right idea.

Here's the family line up...

And what a handsome family they are
