Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Yesterday afternoon I gave my lambsfoot a spa treatment after our camping vacation by the sea.
During our trip it helped me eat a lot of freshly caught haddock and mackerel :) as well as the usual camping duties.
I cleaned it and flushed and oiled the joints, removed the heavy patina with flitz and sharpened it.
The sharpening part took me while ( it needed re profiling). It was as if I had completely forgotten how to sharpen a knife, the proper angles and muscle memory lost. I was getting frustrated and then it came time to go to a scheduled doctor's appointment.
While waiting for the doc I reread tips about sharpening and watched videos.
After I came home I tried again and was able with seemingly little effort re profile the bevel, find the burr, and get it to shaving sharp :).
I am still a beginner "sharpener" but oh, what a sense of accomplishment I had went I went to bed.
It may not be perfect but it very easily shaved half of my legs LOL :D ( and no ... I am not posting pics of my shaved legs LOL  )

Thanks Greg - lots of errands today - my wife just handed me a "honey do" list. Haha.

I get "honey do" lists, too. I hope the errands went smoothly.

Upsy Daisy Guardians. I'm going out in the back yard and field this morning and may need to find my way if I get lost and may have to send a distress signal. This calls for my Rosewood Big-un.

Way to be prepared! Safe travels. ;)

I'll be up bright and early for my weekly trip to the market tomorrow, and I think I'm going to take The Black Prince with me ;) Have a great day folks

That's a special one.

I’m making up some surf fishing rigs for the upcoming fall run. My garage/shop lambfoot is earning its keep tonight! Hoping that hurricane decides to miss us in North Florida!

You know what they say: a working lambsfoot is a happy lambsfoot. Glad to see that you're keeping yours busy. :)

You're supposed to shave your arms, not your legs! :D

My knife focus in this post will be annual Guardians Lambsfoot knives (horn, ebony, desert ironwood); as usual, there may be exceptions if I lack self-control!
...
See you after your break, Man Jack!:D It certainly is a good looking knife, Gary!

I love the very early version that's in black and white video. Toy Caldwell singing. I enjoy watching his playing style.
...
Thanks for the Man Jack praise, Dennis. :)
Thanks for the MTB link, too. That's the version of "Can't You See" that I like best (but they sure look young )!:cool::cool:

Always satisfying to see your blond horn lambsfoot, Dennis!:thumbsup::thumbsup: But I can't figure out the background of the pic.:confused: My two "best" guesses: a burner on a stovetop or a car headlight??

This is one of my favorites songs and old video. It reminds me of walking into a bar back in the '70s spilled beer, cigarettes and looking for trouble.:cool::D
...
Takes me back to those days, too. But I never had to go looking for trouble, for some reason it always seemed to find me on it's own
...
OG
Geez, Dave and OG, you guys must have had much more "colorful" youths than I did!:rolleyes::p The last fight I had was as a 4"11" new kid in ninth grade in 1965!

Morning Guardians, hope everyone's week has got off to a good start :) Still hot here, I have a blackberry crumble ready to go in the oven, but the last thing I want to do is put the oven on! :D ...
I hope the hot spell is broken soon, Jack!:thumbsup:

Good morning Guardians.:)

...
Such dignified ebony, José!:cool::thumbsup: (I think that's a 2018 Guardians Lambsfoot, right?)

Thank you Gary! :) Valley Jack is a beautiful lambsfoot!
...
Thanks, Ron. :)

Beautiful grain on that Lambfoot GT!

I guess Curly Wurly is a good of name as any!

Guardians, I present to you Sir Curly Wurly of Norh Florida. ( CW for short) :D

Thanks, Jon. :)
Nice name; the covers of your new ebony remind me of animal fur - so cool!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Thanks, GT. :)
I'm afraid it's just going to get more busy over the next few weeks.
We have to pack EVERYTHING and move out while our remodeling is being done.
I still remember the pictures of your beautiful remodeled home. Hopefully ours will turn out as well.
Sounds like quite a production, John; I'm sure it will be worth it when the dust settles!:cool::cool:

Just throwing this out there...
Thursday, September 19th is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
I propose that on that day we all post in pirate talk and use pirate themed pictures.
My boys and I celebrate it every year. I even teach my classes with a little bit of pirate talk thrown in.
Does Krispy Kreme still offer free donut(s) for appropriate talk and/or dress that day??
Hey, maybe carrying Lamb Shark, my Taylor-Schrade 19OT would be a thing to do for that day! :D:thumbsup:

I'd be headed to a nice cool pub, Jack!

Nice Yorkshire knife/mug combo, Gary!:cool::cool: Am I correct that you have a 2017 Guardians horn lambsfoot there??

I carry a lambsfoot...

...because it makes me feel "safe at home".

How 'bout you?
:D:D:cool::cool: Good one, Vince!

Thanks Gary, nice pile-side pic of your Ironwood '19 :)

He isn't singing:

And little early-pearly
Came by eating a Curly Wurly

???!!! :D

...
Thanks for valuing Valley Jack, Jack. :)
The lyrics of that song seem quite cryptic to me, and I spent some time trying to figure out to what "curly wurly" might actually refer, and that candy kept coming up!;)

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Thanks GT. Nice to see your Valley Jack.
...
So the barrage of VW Bugs and Microbus images finally got to me. I blame mostly @flatblackcapo:)

Thanks for your Valley Jack support, Harvey. :)
Very cool Magic Bus about to run over your astounding snakewood!:thumbsup::cool:;)

...
I’ve always “flown my freak flag high.”:)
...
Wow! I haven't heard THAT phrase in a LONG time!:cool:;) Wasn't the line "I feel like letting my freak flag fly" in the song "Almost Cut My Hair" on CSN&Y's Deja Vu album?

Dignified ironwood, Mark; just splendid!:thumbsup::cool:

Whew. It's been one of Those Days. Nothing truly bad like some folks here have been dealing with lately, but just one of those days when nothing seems to go right. In the midst of the spate of minor hiccups, I thought I'd lost My Lambsfoot. ...

So, My Lambsfoot has been found. Things are looking up. Maybe the hiccups are out of the way for the day.
...
Glad you found your lambsfoot, Greg, but sorry you had to go through the mental trauma of it being missing. :(
Which knife was it??

...
Thanks, GT. The model comes unpainted and I painted the body with flat black ( my favorite color :D ) paint / primer.
...
I'm staying away from the stove too.

Your model Karmen Ghia looked good. My brothers and I went through a rather lengthy phase in our youths during which we put together many model rockets, airplanes, and cars/trucks. I was not very adept at it. :( My best glue jobs tended to be unintentionally getting fingers stuck together.
I don't remember if you've already posted something like this, but if you had a model of a 50s "two-tone" car, your two-tone horn lambsfoot would look amazing with it!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

To me, this is a fantastic photograph for numerous reason, Dan!!:cool::thumbsup:

Thanks GT, it's good to get back and sleep in my own bed again.
...
Roger that! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Good Morning folks. I haven't been able to get my Waynorth out for any adventures, so here is a boring photo with my morning coffee in a Longaberger mug on an old oak commode. I had arthroscopic hip surgery on Monday and having to behave myself a bit so I am limited in what I am doing. Recovering nicely, paying no attention to the doctor's orders. Ditched the crutches already. I had my other one done about 5 years ago and know what to expect and what my limitations are. They did have to stitch a tear this time, but still feels good, no pain.View attachment 1186570
I hope you have a fast and complete recovery, Fred. :) You should be fine, since that is a VERY hip knife you have there!:cool::rolleyes:

Good morning Guardians! :) I know it’s hard to believe, but I’m Lambless this morning! I’ll expect y’all to carry on with all those beauties so I can admire them from my ICU recliner! Maybe in a couple of days we can get moved to a regular room! :)
Oh, no, did the hospital staff catch you taking knife photos in ICU and discipline you, Ron??:(
I hope your brother-in-law continues to improve.

...
Yeah, it was a little toasty yesterday. I needed a little energy yesterday so I made myself a coffee and peanut butter chocolate ice cream shake. Sitting on the porch, enjoying my shake , this little guy decided to hang out with me.
...
FBC, that drink sounds fantastic, but I'm not thrilled with the company you were keeping while you drank it!:confused:

I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.

Does Krispy Kreme still offer free donut(s) for appropriate talk and/or dress that day??
Hey, maybe carrying Lamb Shark, my Taylor-Schrade 19OT would be a thing to do for that day! :D:thumbsup:
I hadn't heard that about Krispy Kreme, I'll have to check on that.
The Land Shark would seem like an appropriate carry for Talk Like a Pirate Day. But I'd think any Lambfoot would be fitting, it just seems like a pocket knife that a pirate would carry.
