Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Love the scales on your MM Sheffield Barlow. I hope to get one soon with Rams Horn but after seeing yours I can only hope it is as nice.

Great photo Ron, I hope you're managing to take it easy my friend :)
Thank you kindly Jack! :)

I am carrying this fine old William Rodgers today, a generous gift from Charlie waynorth waynorth a few years back :)

I spotted a beautiful two-handed Elwell axe in an antiques shop yesterday. I have absolutely no use for another axe, and certainly not one of this size, and it was spendy, but it sure was tempting
Jack what a beautiful old Lambsfoot. Charlie is one of the kindest, most generous individuals I’ve had the pleasure to meet in person. :)

I’m sorry to hear of your tumble Jack! :( I hope all is well with you my friend. I know how we can become attached to certain items of favorite clothing and other personal items such as watches. Even if they are discontinued items it’s still better than a broken bone or a cut that requires stitches!

Today in my carries I’ve included this 2018 Ebony Guardians SFO. I hope y’all have a blessed day!

Very artistic and cool photo, Mark.
It looks glorious with the rays of light shining through.

I'd rather skin a knee than lose a favorite item of clothing. Especially if you can't replace those items easily. Hope you find some suitable replacements and that your bumps and bruises heal quickly.
Thanks John!:) I hope you enjoy your day of Football watching, minus the chores!;) Agree with you on the skinned knee as well.
Hope you're OK and watch your step today Jack Black Jack Black !:D

Thanks buddy, it was going great until I tripped on a kerb, went flying, broke the bracelet on my watch, badly scuffed a new pair of trousers, and almost ended up face-down on the pavement! o_O The treasure was unharmed, a good job I collect pocket knives and not vintage porcelain

Looking good my friend, I had pizza this afternoon, but it was mediocre :( Those two look great :)
Ouch!! hope you are OK!! The watch and pants can be fixed/repaired/replaced!!
Glad the treasure was OK!!(Whatever it is!!??)o_O

Those ebony Guardians lambsfoots are Wooden Wednesday Winners, José & Ron, no matter what day you carry them!

Good Morning Guardians.

That I*XL stag lambsfoot is a treat, Harvey!

like dragging a fridge through a drift of porridge, ...
I've not heard that phrase before, but it certainly conveys a clear word picture!

Good morning Guardians.
Today is a great day for me, finally the knife that I offered to myself as a birthday present has arrived, although quite late (the birthday was on September 18th !!), it was worth all the waiting time, because in my modest opinion is a handsome example of a Lambsfoot Barlow this knife made by artisan Michael May.;):D:thumbsup:

...
What an outstanding birthday gift to yourself!!!

...
I can't see anyone treasuring this contemporary Lambsfoot from TEW. I think this one was a giveaway, but apparently some folks actually buy these things
...
I probably wouldn't treasure it, but I could see myself buying one of those if the price was right!

Good morning Guardians. My "L'il un" with my board pattern reflected in the blade.

Really attractive horn, ED! I see a comet racing from the darkness into the light.

Spent a rather tense day in the Women's imaging lab at the hospital today with the Missus.
Looks like everything is OK though!!:):):):):):):):):):)
I may have rubbed a dent in my Ironwood.o_O

Glad the diagnosis is good, Mark!

Thanks, Gary. Man Jack's a looker, too!
Herriot practised in Yorkshire, as you know. Enjoying the book so far.
Thanks for the nod to Man Jack, Vince.
One of my favorite slapstick comedy chapters is in the fourth Herriot book, I think. The title of the story is, IIRC, "The Bull in the Bowler Hat". It always makes me laugh until I cry!

...
Thanks for the kind words Gary! It’s always a treat to see your Sambar Senator!:D
Thanks, Ron!

There is a great tv show on over here at the moment called The Yorkshire Vet, it is about a veterinary practice that is run out of James Herriot's old surgery, i really enjoy it. Have you had a chance to see it.?
I've never seen the current show, but I used to enjoy a TV adaptation of the Herriot books that was broadcast 25 (?) years ago. (Had some trouble understanding the dialect of the Yorkshire farmers, though. ;))

Marvelous photo!

TY GT :)

I don't think it's necessarily from the buffing although it may have improved the look and feel when I did it the first time.
...
Thanks for the interesting post on the care of your ebony, Dan!

...
Now I want to hear the joke. :(
...
Man Jack is looking fine, GT.
MJ thanks you, John. :)
The joke is not that great, but I really like to think about the subject matter (individualism vs. postmodern tribalism, stereotyping, etc.).
A grasshopper walks into a bar, and the bartender greets him warmly, saying, "We're glad to see you here! We even serve a drink named after you!" The grasshopper replies, "Why would you name a drink 'Bob'??"

View attachment 1207079 Good evening Guardians! It's been so wet around here lately, these guys have been popping up all over the place!
I know what you mean, Ben! We've got all kinds of weird fungus growing in the back yard after 7 days with rain, and one of the dogs thinks it's all edible!

Good Morning Guardians. Hope everyone has a great Friday. After work my family and friends are heading to our monthly food truck meet up. It’s a pretty fun event, they have around 13 food trucks and live music. I’m carrying my old stand by lambfoot.

Jon, the outing sounds fun, and the rosewood looks grand!

Good Morning fellows! Been much too busy lately for retirement :) This weekend we will be off again to a Casino Hotel to meet up with a bunch of the Mrs relatives from three different provinces to celebrate one of her cousin's 60th birthday. I know where I will spend/hide most of my time, seeing as it's at a Casino. ;)

Have a good time, Dave, but don't "bet the farm" on anything!

...
Sounds nice Gary, hope the replacement I picked up today will be pleasing to your eye my friend (PM later) :)

I find the pigeon corpse behind some potted plants in the garden this morning, unless it's a different bird!

I think I can guess that grasshopper joke! :D

Excellent pic of your Man Jack GT :)
...
I'm looking forward to that HHB, Jack; thanks for all your efforts!
It's not surprising that after leaving that imprint on the window, the bird was unable to fly/walk away!
Thanks for the good words about Man Jack.

Well, well, well. Look what the postman delivered today. As many of you already know this is one of Charlie's many fine efforts and the manufacturer did a great job on F&F. Not to mention that the jigging really appeals to me. The scales are almost a perfect match

Congrats, Bill! IMHO, that's a magnificent model!

Had to take a quick trip to town to the Dr.'s Office for a quick check up which was mandatory before getting my flu shot. Guess What!!!! I got a sucker when they gave me my shot. The Nurse said the next time they might let me sit at the tiny table in one of the tiny chairs in the waiting room and play with the Bead Puzzle. Yahoo!!!!
...
Can't beat that, ED!

Thanks! Whenever I go to the dentist, I like to read the Highlights Magazine. It's still very entertaining! :D
Hidden Pictures is the best.
Glad I'm not the only one! And I totally agree with John.

I had four shots the day before yesterday.
...
All my Wrights.
You're a pin cushion! At least you have a lambsfoot for each inoculation.

This evening's entertainment...
Amazing to me how relaxing just making shavings can be!

Happy weekend !!!

Thanks, Harvey.
Best pizza cutter ever!

Yowza! You're an acrobat, Jack! Glad you and your treasure weren't badly damaged.
Looking forward to seeing your purchase.

I’m glad you’re all right Jack! I had this treasure with me today.

Splendid pic, Dave (and I like it even more after learning the plant is lamb's ear)!

Outstanding lambsfoot barlows, José!

Superb gift from Charlie!
It's always tempting to have another axe to grind! :p

Good Morning Guardians
It will be a lazy day at home, doing little chores and watching football...
John, I've been trying not to effusively praise your ebony WCLF every time I see it, but I can't hold back any longer. What a captivating knife!!

Here is my Guardian.

In the top photo is my first Lambsfoot. I gave it to a friend who raises sheep. I figured he deserved it more than me! The bottom photo is my latest and greatest.
What I said about John's knife applies to yours, too! And that black dog is a superb Guardian, I'll wager!

Jack, sorry to hear of your pains . . . heal quickly!
Speaking of healing, how's your recovery coming along, Jeff!

Man Jack's last hurrah for the week:
