Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

That looks interesting stuff; I guess only for 'minor' cuts? I bleed like a stuck pig so if I get cuts like that I usually use pepper or tumeric powder both of which make for quite good coagulants. Though if away from home I wouldn't be carrying either of them around with me.

Nipping in and out the garden and have been catching the Rememberance Service at the Cenotaph in London on telly, so I thought I'd post a more appropriate picture.

Remembering today all those who have served.

They reckon up to 2 inches, which is quite a big cut (I have trauma stuff for more serious wounds, but if I was at home I'd also be ringing for an ambulance!). That's a good tip about pepper/turmeric David. This stuff worked right away

I have had the radio on, I'll join you in that thought my friend, nice pic

I'm carrying in my own Goldfinger today in the form of Marilyn :)

Marilyn is looking beautiful as ever, Jack.:thumbsup:

It's wall to wall blue sky here today for a change so I'm heading out with my rosewood.
Sounds nice, enjoy the good weather.:thumbsup:

I managed to stab myself with an old dirty knife
Careful... Knives are sharp. ;)

Enjoying my Sunday Sausage Sandwich :)

Looks delicious. I'd have one for breakfast but my kitchen is all torn apart. Looks like cold cereal again. :(

Good Morning Guardians
First it's off to the laundromat,
then it's home to finish up some chores,
then finally I will settle in to watch some football.

Thanks a lot John, I hope that you can have a sausage sandwich soon. Enjoy your football with Skoll :)

Nice Rachel !, the shallower bevel is clearly visible  It's going to make a great slicer

LOL! :D Your edge looks good Rachel, what angle did you sharpen it at?
Thanks. I set a back bevel of 15 degrees per side. The diamond hones leave quite a scratch pattern. Then the fine white ceramic hones is such a jump up in grit, I didn't have the patience to polish it all out. (I might try to do that later with a flat stone.) I then tried to put a 17.5 micro bevel, got tired and finished with two passes on the SharpMaker fine rods at 20 degrees. It's a sharp but "toothy" edge.

I LOVE the white stuff! What I don't love is the accompanying collapse of society, general wailing and hysterics and all round panic and inability to cope.
We usually don't get more than 1 inch which usually melts within 24 hours.
It snows so seldom here, I love the novelty of it. The whole town shuts down. I wouldn't like living somewhere it snows often enough that you're expected to actually go about your business in it. I don't know how to drive on ice and snow. Knowing that makes me a better driver than all the folks around here who think they know how.

Many of us seem to have to re-learn every year how to drive on ice and snow.

I remember when we lived in Texas and then in Chattanooga TN many years ago it was like that.
Everything would shut down for even the slightest dusting of the white stuff or minor freezing rain :).
I remember when we first got married I was parked at a stop in a big Walmart parking lot in Texas.
We had had some freezing rain. There was ice all over as they don't have the salt and equipment to deal it.
Suddenly I got hit so hard and my old little Honda civic was literally sent flying over the ice like a hockey puck.
I got out to met this very tall cowboy getting out of his huge pick up truck ( everything is big in Texas lol ). He was very apologetic, telling me he had slammed on the brakes like a hundred feet before but he had just kept going lol.
He was very nice an paid for all the damages. We even bought with that money two bicycles at that same walmart, one of which we still have and my youngest daughter uses it 22 years later

Eastern Ontario is a different story. We got pounded soo hard last winter with ice, ice and more ice and "s*&#". Driving my children to music lessons in the dark after sunset at 4 pm, going to work and trying to clear my driveway after every dump sometimes gets to you.

However today i am very excited. Later this morning we are going to go to home depot and buy my first snow blower ever .... no more shoveling snow for me :) ( oops I just typed the "s" word :D )

Thanks for the info Rachel, I scratched the blade of one of my knives with the diamond Sharpmaker rods. I tend not to use them unless I need to re-profile, as I hate that scratchy feeling as you run the blade down the rod, it feels almost as if you are scraping off the diamond coating o_O

Thank you guys ! :)

I drive for 10 days in the snow in Baltimore, D.C., Annapolis, and Shippensburg, PA about 30 years ago around Christmas time, having never driven in snow before. I did alright, but I didn't like it!
