Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good afternoon, Guardians!
EcsBnVJ.jpg

And a Happy Birthday to 5K Qs 5K Qs !

Even with its poor centering I’m still very pleased with the knife. I even used it to cut up some fruit for a morning snack at the office.

It's certainly a looker :)

I'm Back!!! Well, the doctors in their "Ivory Tower" at OHSU say I've got cancer in my left jaw bone. They are going to remove the left jaw bone and replace it with a bone from my leg or my arm. Oh Joy. Since I'm going to have to have a Sunny Disposition for what's ahead, I'm posting a picture of my Jack Black Jack Black SFO Hartshead Barlow basking in the Sun to kick-start my Sunny Disposition frame of mind.

uy3qkvB.jpg

Sheesh! Sorry to hear that ED :( Hope you're going to be OK buddy, that's a nice pic of your Hartshead Barlow

Saying a prayer here, Ed. I do think that it might be tough for a grumpy old dude to have a sunny disposition, but if it'll help, do it!
Nice pic of a great knife!

Too cold to be barefootin' today, so I'll be Lambsfootin'!
QVKJeJ5.jpg

Sunny disposition is a CHALLENGE! Great to see your Midnight Special Gary

Good afternoon, Guardians!

Nice pic Vince :) Good luck to our resident mathematician in counting all those candles! ;) :D

Happy Birthday Gary, Many Happy Returns my friend :)

Awesome, CONGRATS ! :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Well, Congrats! to your son, John.

Great news John, love the pic :)

Thank you, Gentlemen. :)
He will be working hard to try to earn a contract at Call Back Camp.:thumbsup:

I am struggling a bit after a rotten night's sleep, but it was nice to see my pals, and there was a very good atmosphere in the market, with stall-holders passing out drinks, and mine pies and Christmas cake in abundance.
Sounds like a LOT of fun was had by all.:thumbsup:
Sorry you were tired. Hopefully you were able to tap into your reserves for the evening activities.

I'm sorry to hear that, Ed. Best wishes for a full recovery. Be sunny, be grumpy, be whatever gets you through it all.

Ed,I posted from my phone earlier so I hadn’t read anyone’s posts. Prayers sent for a successful operation and a rapid recovery!

Lovely shot, Dan! I love seeing cardinals with snow, look forward to seeing that here.
Good Morning Guardians
This picture celebrates the Christmas season, but also the fact that my son got a "Call Back" from his last audition. :)

Hope you can get out soon Dennis :) We went through a fair few mince-pies yesterday, I took a dozen down, and a lot of other folks kept dropping packs in. We had a nice iced Christmas cake too ;) :) Sorry to hear you're missing sleep too Dennis, I have a CPAP machine I need to start using again, takes some getting used to though o_O Cool photo my friend :)

Morning Guardians, looks like we've survived another week  The Friday before Christmas is generally known as 'Mad Friday' here, or 'Black-Eye Friday' Town centres are best avoided, but I forgot my pal's little lad's present last night, so I'm going to drop it off where he works - unfortunately in one of Leeds busiest shopping malls o_O Also, like everyone else, I have a bit of shopping to do, so I'm going to head in early I think, and high-tail it back home  Hope everyone has a good Friday, the weekend is nearly here :)

Carrying the Ebony WCLF again today. ...
Good evening Guardians! :)

What classy knives those ebony WCLFs are, John & Ron!

Your AC looks right at home with royalty, Vince!

...
Good Morning Guardians.

Another majestic stag lambsfoot! Your AC looks superb, Harvey!

Thank you, my friend. I am hanging in there, be it just barely but hanging in there.
...
...
Thank you, GT, for all the fine compliments. I always enjoy reading them and most certainly appreciate the time you take to impart them.

I forgot to post this one yesterday, followed by my 2019 KOTY.
...
FBC, I hope life's barbed wire doesn't hang you up for very long.
Dylan, thanks for the encouragement. :)
If there were a "just looking" Knife of the Year thread, that jigged bone WCLF would be my nominee! You gents have sublime versions!

I've been looking for another Sheffield Lambfoot and this was on a post I'd found on Instagram.. I been looking for something similar to the A Wright Buffalo Horn that I have!View attachment 1250264 View attachment 1250265
Handsome horn pair of lambsfoot models, @madtaz63!

Hello Ray. Thank you. My parents owned an antique@curios store a longtime ago. It’s a 1950s(?) “Setko Match Heads Puzzle.

View attachment 1250365
Very cool puzzle, Harvey! I have several "math puzzles" that have the same set-up: 16 rectangles that each have a different math expression along each side, and the goal is to make a 4x4 square in which edges of rectangles that meet contain equivalent expressions (like "x^2 - 4" gets matched with "(x+2)(x-2)" in a "factoring" version of the puzzle).

...
Morning Guardians, hope everyone's week is going well so far. Plenty to do today, and I'll be doing it with my Hartshead Barlow ;) Just starting the day with some toasted malthouse sourdough :)
...
Great to see your stag HHB KOTY with some hearty bread, Jack!

...
Thanks Gary! :) Great to see the lambs stirring this morning!
Thanks, Ron. :)

...
The Doctor has been saving the world on Christmas for many years... He had to learn that from Somebody. ;):):D

Excellent photo of a grand Lambsfoot, GT. :)

Love it!!! :cool::thumbsup:
Thanks for the interesting connection and the generous compliments, John. :)

Just unwrapped this. In all honesty I expected to be sending it back for a refund tomorrow, but it is staying, a real cracker of a pocketknife at the price....(The black marks on the blade are polishing residue)
Great-looking jigged bone Wright lambsfoot, Tim!

...
I had to go into the city centre earlier, and was overcome with a craving for chips (fat-cut fries) and gravy! Naturally, I succumbed! ;) :D
...
It would be unnatural and perverse not to!

...Also had my first mince-pie of the year ;)
...
Sadly, in 68 years, I've NEVER uttered that phrase.

We have English muffins too, but they're quite different from crumpets. Biggest difference is that crumpets are more spongy. And there's no top and bottom like an English muffin where you cut it in half. Great... Now I'm hungry :p
...
I missed GT's comment earlier :) English muffins - or muffins as we call them here! :D - aren't as popular as they were when I was young, but you'll still find them in any supermarket. We have American muffins too, but perhaps confusingly, they're also just called muffins!
...
Thanks for correcting my misconceptions, Mike and Jack. :) Sometimes a picture isn't even worth a dozen words, especially if the picture is being "interpreted" by my challenged vision.

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you GT. Excellent looking Cracker Jack image.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

My favorite breakfast from Deerfield Bakery. Toasted grilled cheese and bacon sandwich with seasoned french fries...And a 1-XL cherry on top.
...
Thanks, Harvey. :)
Are you using a drone now to get panoramic aerial shots of the bakery? Looks like a good place. I looked at the menu you linked, and I think I could enjoy a different breakfast there once a week for at least a year!

...
Nice photo, Gary, but it looks like a tree made of Andes Mints...mmm!:D:thumbsup:
...
Thank you very much, Gary!! A little levity helps the day along!
Yeah, Harvey is such an entertainer, and forces you to smile!:thumbsup:

I learned in the country as well, I had a 1963 Dodge pickup when I was 16, use to have to haul water down to our horse coral every day, it was a fun old truck!

Your Dynamic Duo of Jacks seem to have you coverd for any chore, Gary!!:thumbsup:

Well that's not a 'baa-aaa-aad' heard, GT!:D:thumbsup: (though the pun is!)
...
I appreciate your compliments and replies, Dennis, to me and so many others. :) I'm always amazed that you can fit so many quotes into a single post without having to split it!
I haven't thought about Andes mints in years; now I want some!
Keep the puns coming. ;)

I had a very busy (and knife-less) weekend but got out on a walk on Monday with my HHB as company.
...
Great photos everyone; I hope your all having a good week.
Wonderful photo of your stag HHB in a striking setting, David!

Good Morning Guardians
Sorry I have been a little absent lately. I was part of a couple of committees to reformat our school for next year. It's been a long and crazy process but the meetings are finally over and all the homework that went with it. Time to relax and enjoy the holidays... after I get all the grades and report cards done.:thumbsup:

Glad you'll have some time to relax now, John. I'm enjoying your lambsfoot holiday photos!

Just 5 more days until I get to see the new Star Wars movie. :D:thumbsup:

Love the SFX pic!

Good morning Guardians! :) I’m happy to be totin my Jigged Bone WCLF today!

Sublime knife, Ron!!

...
You better not watch this then. :D
...
Memorable scenery, but even in my youth, I'd have never made that final climb!

I know I said I was going to carry my ebony WCLF every day this month...
and I have done it so far, including today. But when I got home I just had to throw "My Knife" in my pocket.
Great to see the African rosewood again, John! (How's Sköll doing with the holiday season and the short daylight?)

...
Thought I would bring this humble lass out for a spin today. She is the one that started it all...

AgiRW1k.jpg
The holidays must be making you and John nostalgic, Dylan. That's a marvelous knife!

Thinking about my Knife of the Year. This has to be considered!

HHB Especial today!

That trailer made me look up Fred's Dollar Store online, and I discovered that they declared bankruptcy in September and planned to close all their stores. :(
I read your "Holly" comment at least 3 different times before I "got it".
Grand stag HHB, Dennis!

Just received my first lambfoot today but I assure it will not be my last. I’ve been interested in the blade shape for a while and am now able to see why it is appreciate so much. I look forward to using this and contributing more photos to the thread as it gets broken it.

Great news, John! I just realized that "Horn big'un" has double meaning for you. What's the official name of your son's instrument? (All I can think of is "tuba".)

Lol... That's a good one. Now I have to find a Horn big'un.

Welcome back, ED, but certainly not welcome news. :( My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your surgical team. When is all this supposed to happen? At least they didn't mention any of that biblical stuff about jawbone of an ass, right??
Great shot of your stag HHB!

Your horn lambsfoot is looking well, Gary! Do you ever have any shrinkage problems in the cold, dry weather?

Good afternoon, Guardians!

Great knife Choice, Vince!
And thanks for the birthday wishes. :) (I received a birthday email from the ophthalmologist, too. How do you all know/remember birthdates??)

Nice pic Vince :) Good luck to our resident mathematician in counting all those candles! ;) :D

Happy Birthday Gary, Many Happy Returns my friend :)
Thanks, Jack. :) Counting candles isn't so bad if you take advantage of our place value numeration system. Just declare that red candles represent decades, and white candles represent single years, and then I need only 6 reds and 8 whites!

I always find your "brushstroke grain" ironwood lambsfoot magnificent, Ron!

Thank you, Gentlemen. :)

Excellent pic of your stag HHB! If I don't have a natural rooting interest, and tend to cheer for the underdog. So I don't very often root for the Sooners, but I will against LSU (and the SEC). Sooner or later, it had to happen!

As John pointed out, your stag HHB KOTY is an ace! You must be very proud of bringing that SFO run to the Guardians this year!

Thank you Gary, I think I had 6 mince-pies yesterday  Great pics my friend

I wonder if anyone recognised Winnat's Pass from The Princess Bride film? ;)

Mathematically speaking, 6 is a perfect number.
I didn't recall that fact about that film location, but, upon reading your post, I recognized that you (or someone else) has mentioned it on BF before; very cool! (I wonder if The Princess Bride counts as a Christmas movie?)

I was so impressed with the Wright green bone, and the Bowie, that this happened...o_O...So now there are 2....

I think I may as well order one in rosewood, it would be inconsiderate not to...
Congrats on your winning pair, Tim! My rosewood may be my favorite, so I highly recommend that you be considerate.
