Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Strange about the snow Dan, a great pic though :)

Actually I was just told that in these parts of Ontario it is very normal to have a green Christmas. I was just talking about it to my brother in law who is a professional landscaper and he explained to me the plant hardiness zones and averages temps per region etc.
It seems that where we live, although only a 7 hour drive, old winter man can be a lot harsher.

How 'bout you?

That’s a well loved Horn hafted Lamb, Dennis. Wishing you the best, my friend.
Thank you very much, my friend!:)
Yikes! Well-rescued Dennis  :)
Gotta do what I can around here, Jack! This morning I swept and made coffee.:D:thumbsup:
;) Have a good day folks :)

Thanks, John!! I panicked when I couldn't find it on page 1 :confused::p
Good Morning Guardians.
I'm going back to my Old Faithful Lamb today...
A dandy of a shot, Mr John!:thumbsup: Great grain structure.
I too want snow so I can start my series “ An xc ski in nature :D “ lol
Have a great day Guardians

Nice shot, Dan.
It has been around 60° all week here, a little snow, a fire in the fireplace, and a cup of Irish coffee is more than due!;)
Good morning Guardians. WCLF relaxing, showing off it's stuff.

Great to see your Hartshead Barlow out in the field Dan, those are fantastic pics :)

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Hartshead and mince pie is no “blue plate special.” Fine Dining.:)

JohnDF JohnDF - Thank you John. That Big ún remains one of my all time favorites.

Good Afternoon Guardians. Took Linus and Ari out for a long walk. Kind of dark and foggy when we started.

Thanks buddy :D Hope you enjoyed your walk, that is an incredibly atmospheric pic, I love the subtle colours :) Great pic of Linus too of course! :D

We went to a local Irish Pub for lunch, The Boxing Donkey.
Had the Guinness battered fish and chips. They were oh so good!!!
They also have great Corned Beef and cabbage, and Shepards Pie.

That's an unusual pub name John, menu sounds excellent :)

You gotta earn your keep buddy :D ;) I am always glad to get back to normal after the holidays Dennis, increasingly so as I get older. I was on my own yesterday, and had a craving for some Chinese, so I ignored all the rich food in the fridge, and made a simple stir-fry with noodles :D This time last year, I was too ill to eat anything, and had to give all the mince-pies away

Blimey, is it Friday, I've completely lost track of the days?! Good luck with your appointment Dennis, hope it goes well my friend

Morning Guardians, I'm beginning to feel a bit like I'm stuck on Groundhog Day, haven't been out of the house since Christmas Eve  The weather isn't great here today, but I thought I'd travel up to Ripon, a small market town, 40 miles away, get a pint and a short walk in. It really is a nice journey, passes two castles, several rivers, and some fantastic scenery, with an incredible cathedral at the end. Hope everyone has a lovely day

Just out of curiosity... what happens if I move it???

The Ghost of Christmas yet to come appears and shows you the error of your ways. :D

I was given a WW2 Army blanket by my granddad, and I carried it for years, though sometimes, in the summer, I didn't even have that, and would just lie down on the ground to sleep. Even when it was wet, it didn't really bother me. No wonder I am so decrepit now!

Yep, sleeping on the ground in the UK will do you in. :D
Last year a mate of mine came across a bundle of WWII wool blankets in a charity shop and snaffled the lot. Your right they are very warm, but I'd still want something betwixt myself and mother earth when taking a nap. :)

What a great shot.

We have some ferel cats around the place so I thought these cats were spot on for Christmas Day.

An oldie Lambfoot that's seen many a Christmas Day with Stag covers. No Reindeer were injured during the construction of this knife!:)

Very funny. :D
A fine picture of a fine old lambsfoot.

donn donn - Wonderful interior image. Very warm and comfy.

To all the Guardians who celebrate Christmas, I hope it was a merry one. In that spirit, Here is a portrait of Linus and his family with their presents.

Thank you.
A great Christmas shot of Linus there.

A GREEN Christmas!

There's an old saying here in England. "A green Christmas makes for a fat churchyard".
Us Brits' are a cheery lot.

Kind of dark and foggy when we started.

That's been the UK for the past 3 months. :(
Great shot on the oranges. :)

I'm a bit late wishing you all a Merry Christmas, as I decided that, for two days at least, I'd turn off all electronic gizmos and just enjoy Christmas.:)
Peace and goodwill to you all.

It is an unusual name, but kind of fitting.
They serve a five pound burger with two pounds of fries and a drink.
My son finished it a few years ago but had to stay home from school the next day. :D

That sounds like a wonderful trip.:thumbsup:

Not again!!! ;)

Peace and goodwill to you all.

That's a great Nativity. :cool::thumbsup:

The prime directive was pretty flexible. One week you can't fire in front of an alien to save Spock's life, the next week you can destroy an entire alien planet if they don't release your shore party.
Kind of like the Pirate's Code, more like guidelines. :D

I don't think closed-cell foam mats came into use here until the mid-80's David. Folks were tough in the olden days! ;) When I was a kid, camping books advised you to make a hollow in the ground for your hip! I remember going camping with a short-lived girlfriend around 1990, and she sneered at my 'Karrimat', and refused to buy one, only to expect me to give her mine (she was disappointed)! I don't think I'd care to sleep on the bare ground now, but I can remember doing it in Switzerland about 12 years ago. I regret losing my old blanket, it was nice and warm, and pretty big too, so you could basically wrap it around yourself. Army surplus stores were full of them once, but I think a blanket like that would be pretty pricey these days. Your mate did well :)

Hope you had a good one mate :)

Oops-
Every shore party should be issued lambsfoots.

Blimey, no wonder he can lug that marching tuba around on his shoulder John! That's quite a meal! :D

Thanks my friend, I just got back :) A nice run out, but unfortunately when I got to Ripon it was raining :( I'll see if any of my pics came out

Good Morning Guardians

Nice pic of that ebony beauty :)

The 36 bus stops at the bottom of my street, and goes all the way from Leeds to Ripon. With its plush extra-wide leather seats and 'all mod cons', it's a very comfortable bus, and I guessed that today it would be empty, as were the roads.

The journey, particularly the section between Leeds and Harrogate, has to be one of the most beautiful in Yorkshire, and you get fantastic views from the front of the top deck. Today wasn't the best weather, but I still saw deer, red kites, and a heron. The pics I took are really shakey unfortunately :( One day I'll have to try and take a video as I was surprised not to be able to find a decent one online (most are bus-spotter videos which focus on the bus itself  )

I live on the north side of Leeds, close to the open countryside, and the beautiful Harewood Estate and Harewood House.

By the time we got to Ripon though, it was raining :( This is the ancient market square.

Lots of old lanes and attractive old buildings.

As it was raining I decided to curtail my walk, but did stop to pick up a nice bottle of rum :)

Found this feller on the street when I got back (Teddy's aren't just for Christmas).
