Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Look for a middle-aged one. They seem to have been taught differently but still have experience.
Patina coming along nicely!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks for the tip Mark (and the compliment) :) I am looking for another surgery at the moment as there have been a lot of changes at mine over the past couple of years. I have a couple of neighbours who are doctors, and one of them did some work at my surgery for a while. He told me, flatly, "Get another doctors!" I asked him if he could recommend one, but he told me he's having the same problem finding a doctor himself!

I made it though the day. :D Finally getting around to rebanding a couple of my slingshots.

Nice set-up there Jon :) By coincidence, I got mine out last night as I still need to add bands to a couple Mike @Crazy Canuck sent me. It's been a busy time, and I cleared everything away over Christmas

Keeping up with the Joneses ...
I mean Jon JaxBaron JaxBaron :D

Nice Dan, is that one on the right a Chinese model?

Well, since we seem to have a theme going... :D

Three beauties Mike :)

My bean flipper isn't as attractive as everyone else's, but I had to get in on that...

You got the meat and the potatoes there Willie

Thank you. The HHB is just an amazing knife! The slingshots are African Mahogany with aluminum cores I made this Summer.

As long as she shoots straight, that's all that matters :) Nice Li'l Lamb as well :)

I'm glad you're pleased with it Mike :) Fantastic work on those slingshots :)

The HHB is a knife that will never leave my “collection”. Awesome you made the slingshots yourself. You did a great job.

That's good to hear Jon

She definitely shoots straight, made from an ash fork from a tree I took down a couple of years ago, Spanish attachments and I cut the bandsets out of a theraband black pt band. I get ball bearings by the gross from my mechanic, he saves them for me when people blow wheel bearings. Thanks for the compliment on the knife, I've grown quite fond of it despite it's original flaws. Yours is very attractive!

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Just name the date for AC Day...In. Your HHB looks right at home in the Pub.

5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you GT. Ari and I were caught in constant drizzle.

Good Evening Guardians. Double Treat.

OK Harvey! :D Thanks buddy, outstanding pic of those two tasty treats! :D

Morning Guardians, thought I might as well join in ;)

The Extraordinary Adventures of Linus the Lambsfoot!
Well I can't say we have done alot this week, but here are a few pictures of Linus' activities.

First meeting the siblings:

And the cousins:
View attachment 1263650

He did get in a little hunting. Unseasonably warm, so no deer movement.
View attachment 1263652

And while I was sitting on my car trailer waiting for a good shot of some eagles flying nearby, which never came to fruition.
View attachment 1263654

Windy and warm today, I might get over to the farm to check on things and go for a ride on the RTV to pick up trash that blows from the nearby neighborhood.

Unfortunately, haven't had much of a need to use him, so no action shots. I do have some mail to open downstairs...:)

@Pàdruig
Good to see Linus getting used to his new surroundings!:thumbsup::cool:

...
I've had tellers at the bank inform me that I can do my banking online instead, and I ask if they are instructed to tell me that, because I would rather they get to keep their jobs. Don't get me started on grocery store self-checkout!

Wow, I am becoming quite the curmudgeon these days. :D

Here's a pre-patina pic of my ebony big-un. It might not be "bagpipe black" but it's close enough. :)
...
My ancient grocery is obviously trying to drive us into the robo lanes. Oh, and ask one of our associates how you can help put them out of work by using our app.
...
That big'un looks downright Stygian to me, Rachel, and I always admire Jer's no-name lambsfoot!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
At my grocery store (same chain as Jer, I'll wager), they often have too few "traditional" checkout lanes open for the number of shoppers who want to use them, so the lines get annoyingly long. When a manager type comes along to announce the obvious, that there are open "modern" self-checkout lanes available, I usually inquire what percent the discount on my purchases will be if I check myself out. Invariably, the discount is 0, and I decline the offer to work for nothing.

Going with my lucky WCLF today... Go Hawks!!!
...
Maybe not as effective a good luck charm as you hoped, John, but it's still a luxurious knife!!:cool::thumbsup:

Someone a few posts back said they were enjoying seeing all the SFO Hartshead Barlow knives. Here's a couple more for them to enjoy.
...
Great photo of your superb rosewood/stag pair, ED!:cool::thumbsup:

...
We can't lose: got my lucky lambsfoot. Go, Pack, Go!
Wow, Vince, you're an actual stockholder in the Packers? Very impressive, as is the lambsfoot!:cool::cool: (The cheesehead is less impressive.)

...
Good Afternoon Guardians.

Harvey, your AC is an Aristocratic Classic!:thumbsup::cool:

...
Maybe some of the absent Guardians would be up for an Ashley's Choice day

...
That photo brings back fond memories, Jack!:thumbsup::) It was fun trying to identify individual ACs in the pile!:D:cool: This isn't my week to carry my AC, but I'm happy to take this opportunity to post a photo of Cracker Jack when he was new. I'll use a mark side shot to match Jack's group photo (even though I prefer the pile side stag on mine):

:) Good Morning Guardians! Can’t believe it’s already time to go back to work :(. Might as well make the best of it!! Today’s lambsfoot is this beauty.

Sweet stag Hartshead Barlow SFO, Jon!:thumbsup::cool:

Stan's arms are much the same. "They never 'ave any trouble finding a vein," he says of his trips to the hospital :)

It was bad! :D

They are the right tool for the job my friend :)

Thanks Gary, we should have gone straight to the pub! :D

You can have that one on me mate! :D Harlem Globe Trotter games were televised in a way unlike other sports at the time, shown during the children's late afternoon slot, and a lot more fun to watch than cricket! There was even a cartoon spin-off I dare say some remember. I wouldn't say they were that big a deal here, but they were a household name at a time when folks would have been unlikely to be able to name another basketball team
I appreciate your taking the time to reply to my random musings, Jack. :)

Horn and ebony, both splendid Guardians SFO lambsfoots!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary. Jake is good lookin' annnnd a hard worker. He would make a good catch for any single lady Lambsfoot.
;):D:p

All you Guardians, have a great week.

A recycled pic because everone likes Lambsfoot pics. :D

I wonder if Jake could be happy with a single (just one) lady lambsfoot? He looks kind of rakish to me! :D:thumbsup:
Great photo of your ironwood 2019 Guardians lambsfoot!:cool::thumbsup:

My lambsfoot this week is my rosewood Union Jack:

Exactly.
In fairness, they are trying to compete with the bigger chain just down the road that is famous for treating more employees worse. But I don't like the wait, I don't like seeing friendly faces thrown out as wolf meat, and on the rare occasions when I'm reduced to using the robo lane, it always manages to be gratuitously obnoxious.
Wah boohoo grr huff. Dagnabbit.
I need an emoticon of a cane banging on the floor.

My Purina Chows cane is a great favorite. Slim and tapered, yet stout enough for support and remonstrance, with facets for emphasis.

Not even the lucky power of the WCLF could make up for a really bad defense. ;)

Many of the smaller supermarkets here have between zero and two lanes open, and then they have three or four people standing up encouraging shoppers to use the robots, and attending when they don't operate properly. We're not alone folks, a lot of people refuse to use the self-checkouts, not enough though o_O

Yeah! Banging cane! I don't like seeing the old gals, who used to work on the checkout, having to stand up for hours at a time, encouraging shoppers to use the robots, which will eventually see them turfed out of a job

Thank you I probably won't be smoking pipes for a few days now unfortunately but at least iv some new knives to fondle

Probably a wise move Stephen, hope the extraction wasn't too unpleasant

Very nice Jon :)

You're ready for the apocalypse.

Just doing some fine-tuning ;) If those zombies are made of cardboard, they're going DOWN! :D
