Tangled up in Lamb! Nice, Rachel!;):thumbsup:
The weather forecasters are still threatening more from Storm Dennis The Menace, so my mate might need more moral support than usual - or more cake! :D Have a good Thursday Guardians, and I'll hope to catch up with you all later in the day :) :thumbsup:

Ya'll are killinkilling me with the cake!:eek: :D
A pair of sweet photography's!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I decided to take a page out of Jack's book and go for a hike.
My little town of Loomis is known for a few things. It's the gateway to the Sierra's railroad line. It has many citrus orchards and fruit sheds. The trains would load up fruit here in town and transport it south to San Francisco and north to Nevada. We were also the state capital for a short time. But mostly we are known for our granite quarries. This was a major granite producing area at one time. I decided to take a hike around one of our local quarries, it was quiet and peaceful, and the weather was amazing. Of course I had my Lambsfoot with me. ;)

Good for you, John! Beautiful scenery my friend!:):thumbsup:
Also have a Big 'un in my pockedses!:thumbsup:

Thanks for taking us along John :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Looks like a beautiful day ! I just learned from wikipedia that your region has "a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen Csa) that is characterized by cool, wet winters and hot, dry summer."
Do you get a lot of rain in winter ?

gotta pick up my reply reflexes!
I'm just hustling to keep up with you... I'm like Sam chasing after Frodo. ;)

Wonderful way to start the day!:):thumbsup:
Thank you, Dennis. :)

Bragger. ;)
Seriously, nice Lambsfoot. :cool::thumbsup:

Do you get a lot of rain in winter ?
Some years "yes" and some years "no". This year has been a little light.
We tend to go through a few years of drought and a few years of flooding.

Thank you Guardians ! :thumbsup::)
The secret is to " embrace winter " ha ha
Here is my five seconds of fame :D
We were "featured" on the TV evening news a few years ago on opening day at the Rideau Canal ( temps were like - 20 C )
Funny story is .... my wife had call in sick at work that day. When the news reporter approached me to ask if he could ask me a few questions I said " Sure ".
Out of the corner of my eye I saw my wife backing away far from the camera. I asked her after why she did that, she answered me " I CALL IN SICK REMEMBER ! "
The next day a few of her coworkers were telling her that they had seen me and the kids in the news and how bad it was was that she had been sick and unable to join us :cool::D

That’s a great video, Dan! :thumbsup:

Since moving to Minnesota two years ago, I’ve been preaching the “embrace winter” philosophy, but I’m not sure my wife’s fully on board. :D I’d really like to take up ice fishing, but I‘m not sure I’d know where to start! :confused:

Now, I do not think "Papi's shop" is opening any time soon :D
Oh well, ....perhaps I can start planting my peas then ? What do you think Rachel ? r8shell r8shell

Great photos, John! Looks like you had beautiful weather for a hike. :thumbsup:

The Guardians thread always has the best and most interesting pictures and stories along with so many wonderful shots of some of our favorite knives.
As I've mentioned before, I sure enjoy seeing so many fantastic pictures from around the country and abroad, thanks all!!!
My region can grow some great crops in the summer and great icicles in the winter. :)

MN transplant here too. I’ve been ice fishing many times, but it’s too cold and too slow for my liking. I’ll wait a few months to get the boat out!

Thank you Guardians ! :thumbsup::)

That is such a funny story Dan! :D Thanks for sharing the video with us, I hope you're back in your shop before too long :) Meanwhile, good for you in embracing winter :cool: :) :thumbsup:

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Nice looking cake image. Cake soothes the Soul.

Thanks buddy :) We only had one cake today, as my mate has just been diagnosed with diabetes :( We did 'celebrate' with his favourite cake though :rolleyes: I bought it, but it wouldn't be my first choice. The guy who sells them calls them 'School Slabs', I think because they are like the sort of sponge they served with custard when we were kids at school. They are just sponge cake, topped with strawberry jam, and sprinkled with dessicated coconut - very old-fashioned! The 'slab' is rectangular, about 12" by 18" :thumbsup:

Had to shed a tear when I sent the "Extraordinary Linus" off to his next host in Nebraska! Here he is posing with his new friends for one last photo. We'll miss you Linus!View attachment 1286996

Thanks for your great Linus posts Ben, that's a very nice collection you have there :cool: :thumbsup:

I have a TEW lambsfoot with a hump above the nail nick. I figure it was caused by the stamping of the nail nick.

I think you're probably right Jer :thumbsup:

I’ve got to take my brother to Kennesaw this morning. He’s going to owe me Big Time! :eek: I’m going to wait until around 9AM so some of the madness will die down a little. :rolleyes: I believe I’ll be okay with just this WCLF in my pocket! :thumbsup: :D

Taking my lambsfoot along to the shop to put a tie rod in the pickup, and rebuild a plow.

And probably drink a few beers...

I'm sure the Lambsfoot will enjoy that Willie :) :thumbsup:

Goodbyes are never easy, Ben. ;)
It might help to know we are eagerly awaiting his arrival to the Cornhusker state though!

Fantastic pic Mark, hope Linus makes good time getting to you :) :thumbsup:

Good Morning Guardians

Looking good John :) :thumbsup:

Hi Guardians, we're still getting knocked about by Storm Dennis here, and it's rained really heavily today. I'm warm and dry again at home, but many folks aren't as lucky :( Hope everyone here is having a good day, it's Friday tomorrow :) :thumbsup:
