Good for you, John! Beautiful scenery my friend!I decided to take a page out of Jack's book and go for a hike.
My little town of Loomis is known for a few things. It's the gateway to the Sierra's railroad line. It has many citrus orchards and fruit sheds. The trains would load up fruit here in town and transport it south to San Francisco and north to Nevada. We were also the state capital for a short time. But mostly we are known for our granite quarries. This was a major granite producing area at one time. I decided to take a hike around one of our local quarries, it was quiet and peaceful, and the weather was amazing. Of course I had my Lambsfoot with me.

Oh... Would you look what arrived in time for Wooden Wednesday? My first Big 'Un, and in ebony too!![]()

Some years "yes" and some years "no". This year has been a little light.Do you get a lot of rain in winter ?
Thank you Guardians !
The secret is to " embrace winter " ha ha
Here is my five seconds of fame
We were "featured" on the TV evening news a few years ago on opening day at the Rideau Canal ( temps were like - 20 C )
Funny story is .... my wife had call in sick at work that day. When the news reporter approached me to ask if he could ask me a few questions I said " Sure ".
Out of the corner of my eye I saw my wife backing away far from the camera. I asked her after why she did that, she answered me " I CALL IN SICK REMEMBER ! "
The next day a few of her coworkers were telling her that they had seen me and the kids in the news and how bad it was was that she had been sick and unable to join us
Now, I do not think "Papi's shop" is opening any time soon
Oh well, ....perhaps I can start planting my peas then ? What do you think Rachel ?r8shell

Just watch Grumpy Old Men and you'll get the idea.I’d really like to take up ice fishing, but I‘m not sure I’d know where to start!![]()
You were an excellent host.Had to shed a tear when I sent the "Extraordinary Linus" off to his next host in Nebraska!
Since moving to Minnesota two years ago, I’ve been preaching the “embrace winter” philosophy, but I’m not sure my wife’s fully on board.I’d really like to take up ice fishing, but I‘m not sure I’d know where to start!

I have a TEW lambsfoot with a hump above the nail nick. I figure it was caused by the stamping of the nail nick.
The Guardians thread always has the best and most interesting pictures and stories along with so many wonderful shots of some of our favorite knives.
As I've mentioned before, I sure enjoy seeing so many fantastic pictures from around the country and abroad, thanks all!!!
My region can grow some great crops in the summer and great icicles in the winter.

I’ve got to take my brother to Kennesaw this morning. He’s going to owe me Big Time!I’m going to wait until around 9AM so some of the madness will die down a little.
I believe I’ll be okay with just this WCLF in my pocket!

Taking my lambsfoot along to the shop to put a tie rod in the pickup, and rebuild a plow.
And probably drink a few beers...
Goodbyes are never easy, Ben.
It might help to know we are eagerly awaiting his arrival to the Cornhusker state though!
