Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

I just remembered I had this forged spear-head somewhere, looks like someone's blacksmithing project  It took me a while to find it, and while doing so, I came across yet another box of knives I'd forgotten about  I really need to sort out that spare bedroom

Nice work. The socket's the tricky bit.

Very interesting Dennis, and a great pic of your Oxhorn Lamb :)
Danke Schoen, Jack!
I've plenty to do at home anyway, a couple of hours work, and lots of chores, and 'stuff that needs doing', so I don't reckon I'll be going anywhere. Enjoy your Sunday Guardians :)

Some very nice steel, Jack! A rainy Sunday is a napping day!:thumbsup:
Crikey! Now that's a hole! The sort of thing a Cornish man would dig if given the space to do so. :) That's interesting I'll look that up on Google Earth, it must be easily visible. And it's great you've got your family history about the place there.
There always nice horn covers you show there. Very translucent.
They really hit her hard during the 20th century, now it's slowed down a bunch, about tapped out, but they keep it trickling along to avoid any reclamation process. It was a real wild western town in the 19th century, with Indians, cowboys and outlaws all shooting it out. My grandmother is buried across from Billy the Kid's mom.
My photo below is some of the native copper and turquoise that came out of that mine.

Thanks for the kind words on the Lambsfoot, it is eye candy for sure.
Flint Castle in Wales from a couple of summers ago. Which right now feels like the last time I actually saw the sun.

Great shot, David!! Nice horn, but I bet the castle is a bit breezy in the winter!:D
Just had my Sunday Sausage Sandwich :)

We started on the handicapped accessible boardwalk, near the center right of the map, and headed Northwest towards the lake
Looks like a great day, Mark! A great way to start his stay!:thumbsup:
Went and saw Call Of The Wild last night, a completely enjoyable movie.
We look forward to seeing that movie as well!
Perfect black on black, John!:cool::thumbsup:
Got it today, took myself 10 minutes of sanding rough edges, cleaning and oiling, and dropped it in my pocket. For 16 pounds knife it is very nice and well worth carrying and using.
Another one from different brand should be on its way soon.

Thank you, Gary!!:D:thumbsup:
my lambsfoot for the past week has been a rosewood Hartshead Barlow lambsfoot that has lived on my kitchen counter since it arrived, except for its turn to be carried (one week out of every seven).

Jack, neat to see the Viking festival pictures, and a bit sorry to see the flooding going on. I hope it settles back soon.

Thanks for all your kind words Dennis :) Fascinating history, and that's a great pic my friend   I wish it was a napping day today, the weather is rotten AGAIN :(

Morning Guardians, hope everyone had a smashing weekend :) I woke up to an inch or so of snow, but as it's already raining heavily again, I can't see the snow hanging around long  Have a good week folks

WBMkPXW.jpg

You are getting the whole range of weather lately. Excellent picture too.:thumbsup:

The snow was a surprise, been rotten weather, with a cold wind, but the overall temperatures haven't been too bad. By the time I went out, about 11.00am, the snow on my front lawn was so thin, it wasn't worth taking a photo. It seems to be causing disruption elsewhere, but that's Britain, every time it snows, you'd think it was the first time it had happened  THanks for the compliment my friend :)

Good Morning Guardians
Ebony Lambsfoot and a little Norwegian livestock bell...

Great pic John, that's a very interesting bell, quite different to the Swiss and Austrian ones I've seen

Been a while since I came across anyone so needlessly officious o_O

Oh it's lucky then you didn't go to Durham Luminere last November and try to deal with the apes they'd hired for crowd control...:rolleyes:

Continuing-
THE EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES OF LINUS THE LAMBSFOOT

Let me apologize in advance for the load of pics to follow, but Dylan ( @Pàdruig ) did ask for lots of photos. ;)

Linus arrived safely in Nebraska Friday evening, carefully packed and with a nice handwritten note from his last host @Wild Ben. Thanks Ben, I enjoyed your posts with Linus very much!

My family and I decided to take Linus for a small hike (around 3 miles) Saturday, being the first nice day in weeks and wanting to show him around a bit. We opted for Hitchcock Nature Center (<click for info) in nearby Crescent, IA, in the beautiful Loess Hills, (< click for info) where we had a great day getting out in the sunshine.

That looks like a great place for an amble and the sun certainly showed Linus to his best. I hope it's as quiet as it looks to be.

David, regarding jeans, I'm currently trapped in "no man's land", with mostly 34" pants that are now too big for me, but I can only wear some of my 32" pants from a few years back.

Now your just showing off :D
Thanks the Eye of Sauron likes castles. You should carry your HHB more often; those rosewood covers have a nice colouring to them.

Muskie and Moley were up to no good today however Deputy Dawg agreed to play along :D

That's one funny looking racoon. :)

It was a real wild western town in the 19th century, with Indians, cowboys and outlaws all shooting it out. My grandmother is buried across from Billy the Kid's mom.

Now that's proper history. I had an article on Billy the Kid years ago so I wonder if the town and mine was mentioned in that.

Great shot, David!! Nice horn, but I bet the castle is a bit breezy in the winter!:D

Aye, if your stood at that castle with a northerly blowing down off the Irish Sea it's pretty raw to say the least.
That's a great shot with those minerals. That quarry though sound like a lot in the UK; all mined out or unprofitable to continue.

Afternoon all. Another recycled shot.

Oh, I used to run bars at big festivals, so unfortunately I've witnessed lots of appalling behaviour from psychos in yellow-vests over the years  One of the last I did was at Leeds Festival, where the 'Security' were completely out of control. On the last night one of the scum picked a fight with one of my bar staff, then radioed for the entire security team to back him up. about 25 v 18, but they were absolutely humiliated, and ended up running away to hide

Afternoon all. Another recycled shot.

Thanks for the encouragement, gentlemen. Much appreciated.

They've been re-vamping Leeds railway station for the past couple of years. I wwas down there today, and noticed this plaque to George Edwin Ellison, the last British soldier to be killed in WW1.

Pancake Day here tomorrow, and I think I've actually got the day right this time! :D After that, I'm quitting booze and sugar for a month or so, until my birthday at the end of March. Not looking forward to it, but I'll be doing my best to clear the decks first ;) Saluting George Ellison

Good luck Jack, you're a bigger man than I am.
Booze I could do easily, I don't really drink much... But SUGAR??? No way!!!
Good luck on your efforts. Working the stall without cake just sounds wrong though. ;)
I'm just the opposite, I could easily go without sugar, but if I can't have a beer at the end of the day then I start to lose my mind.

We drink lots of Canadian beer here in Western New York.
