Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

It's really a great knife Jack! It just hasn't been in the pocket for a while and I'm questioning that... LOL! Thanks again for this lil beautiful knife.

You're more than welcome my friend :)

Nice pics fellers :)
Thanks Jack! :)

Me neither Ron, overall I think it may have been the best we had from Wright's, the matching wasn't always the best, but the stag was really first rate

I totally agree with you Jack! The matching could have possibly been better on some knives. Overall, I’m sure they did the best they could with the limited supply of vintage stag they had available. This stag was really First Rate! I have fading visions of a Bigun with such wonderful stag in my head! ;)

Fine pic Dylan, hope you're keeping well my friend

Nice to see your AC as part of that lovely composition Dylan :) THat looks like a tasty beverage :)

Thank you, Jack! I am as well as one can hope for, I would imagine. This Stout is quite good, not overly rich and heavy, but a good, flavorful Irish style stout that I've found some good enjoyment in.

Wolf Brand tastes alright, but it's too smooth-blended...more of a chili sauce than chili, in my opinion. My recommendation is to brown some ground beef and onions, then add the Wolf Brand to the pot. Beans if you like them, and peppers if you like it spicy. Then there's something to chew on.:thumbsup:

I meant to jump into the chili conversation earlier but there is no time like the present. I would have to agree with you, I like my chili chunky and hearty and since I grew up with my dad making chili with beans in it, that is how I continue to favor it, although I still like a lot of meat in it as well. I don't like overly soupy chili, needs to have some "meat" to it.

When I was in Denver last year, I went to a local brewpub that served a chili burger. I guess Colorado is known for their green chili so having an open faced burger served to me covered in "green soup" was a new one. The flavor was quite good, though I would certainly have liked it to be more hearty.

For Christmas dinner last year, I used a new kitchen gadget that was one of my holiday gifts, an Instant Pot. I broke that in by making some chili in it and aside from some tweaks that I would do to the recipe, it turned out really, really good.

And because this is a Lambsfoot thread, I will share a recycled pic of one of my favorite "working" shots. I may have mentioned it before but the mushroom is a King Bolete and is one of the tastiest mushrooms that I have harvested in the wild.

All I need is for those in charge to dispense truth and scientific fact based information in one non-partisan voice.

Not in this hemisphere. :confused::D

I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in ...
This week is time to carry my Valley Jack, the 2019 desert ironwood Guardians lambsfoot SFO:

That t-shirt is cracking! :D
And the lambsfoot's not to shabby either.

And the Avian Zombie Apocalypse that's coming...

Oh I sure do hope so...

Cool photo, had to look up your stove, very cool!:thumbsup:

My shot for the day, although not carried!

Aye Trangia's have been about since 1925. You literally can't kill them; that's my second as my first got stolen. Great shot there; is that a chair?

Perhaps a little late in the day to post my breakfast photos,

It's never to late for breakfast, especially breakfasts that look as delicious as that one.

Cool, hope to see it in action sometime

Just a question, and I know we don't talk buying but I can't think of anywhere that has more expertise. I've seen a number of A Wright SFOs. Are those done for this group, or for a distributor? Just curious as to when or how I would be able to find those in the future when they come around.

Thanks!
The SFOs I'm aware of were for our own Jack Black Jack Black . My understanding is there won't be any more due to the disinterestedness of the new owners of Wright's.

Just a question, and I know we don't talk buying but...

That's one 'but' too many SnackPack SnackPack , I think this (below - from my opening post) is quite clear, and you're inviting other members to breach the forum guidelines. If you visit this thread regularly, you'll find out about the SFOs, or read post # 1

The Porch was set up for the purpose of non-commercial discussion about traditional knives - to talk about KNIVES, not the BUYING OF KNIVES. I think that's all that needs to be said, this is a public forum afterall

Thank you, seems an awful shame though.

I'd appreciate if you edit your posts gents

I'm not sure that 'matching' is something they understand, but I think the Sambar was of outstanding quality :) I think they did a great job :) I had 2 large sets of covers in really nice dark vintage Sambar, and had meant to get them put on a Big 'Un, probably won't happen now

Good to hear Dylan :) I hope I see that stout over here sometime

I'm not a fan of thin chilli myself

That looks like a great feast my friend, and - WOW! - that cepe is incredible, excellent pic

Nice work David, good clearance there too

Thank you, Jack. :)
But it doesn't look that good any more... It looks better. ;)

:D

I’m going to the Wayback machine today. Sometimes I just like to admire my old photos. I hope all the Guardians are doing well.

Great pic Dave, and it's good to see you here :)

Morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a good week :) It's not raining here for once, so I suppose I ought to find some reason to go out before it starts again! Have a good day folks :)
