Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Back from town where I got some fresh air and a change of scenery.:) Turns out I didn't take either knife I mentioned above. Changed my mind at the last second and took this "Big-un" with Rosewood covers.

Brought the percolator back up.

Two things have always worried me about the automatic drip type, I think that's what these are called:
FCoV9lZ.jpg

First, I'm drinking out of hot plastic. Second, how can they ever dry out, so how can they not get moldy.
I don't know why that didn't prevent me from using them for decades.
Maybe I should go back to a percolator. My aunt used one on a gas stove, but my grandmother just threw coffee grounds and water in a pan and boiled it. Of course, you have to pour carefully so as not to get the grounds in your cup.

They say it helps to boil the coffee with eggshells. To settle the grounds. I'll stick with the percolator, though.

Three decades on the Texas gulf coast fighting hurricanes. Moved away from that to a more peaceful area but have to put up with the occasional tornado now.
We were stationed in Orlando when Andrew came through, don't care to go through one of those monsters! I worked all the big tornadoes here in Oklahoma for the last 20 years, really pray this year will be mild, but it's a bad start for your area. Stay safe!
Nice post, Dennis, and good looking bread!
Thank you much, Vincent!
Been eating wayyy too much bread!:cool::thumbsup:
I hope you're doing ok my friend :)
Thank you very much, Jack!
I do sincerely hope your back is better! Back issues are certainly no fun!
it looks like you're being well looked after
She spoils me so!!:)
I wonder if those two sheep are still wondering what was going on there! :D I remember once being on a family fishing trip, and my grandmother being pursued across a field by a sandwich-hungry old ram. She was as tough as old boots, and it was the closest thing to fear I ever saw her show! She was hitting it with her handbag, while the rest of the family fell about with laughter  :D
Lol!:D
My FIL had goats who always felt compelled to charge you, but they would follow him around like puppies! He also had a rather large goose named Sampson who would love to chase anyone that would flinch!:D
I hope you feel better soon my friend! :) My compliments to your wife on that beautiful
Thank you very much, Ron! Hope you are doing well!
Enjoyed the rams working out video.
The secret to longevity...exercise!....or was it pizza and beer?
That bread looks as yummy as your Hartshead.
I will pass on the compliment!:)
One day.
Great video. I don't know about everyone else but it looks a little to energetic for me though. :D
They are a bit tenacious! I'd die out within the first 3 minutes!:D
A local photographer took a photo of me shopping for the apocalypse last week ;)

Who was that masked man?
Thanks Jack, no stood up fine thanks and I'm even sitting ok at the mo' and not felt the need to lie down, (which is unusual as I usually want to lie down whether I've a bad back or not).:D
Do hope you recover quickly, David! I really enjoy your journeys you take us on!
My brothers banana bread made in a bread maker. I've just had a slice and it's absolutely delicious!

Sorry you gotta have one, not the HHB, a hot water bottle, although it does have groovy turtle neck!:D I have my heating pad on my chair, and use a TENs unit a lot, which really helps me a lot.
Get well, and be safe!

There are a lot of YouTube tutorials on fashioning masks out of bandanas. It makes me a little nervous walking into the bank, though.

my grandmother just threw coffee grounds and water in a pan and boiled it.
That's cowboy coffee... and good stuff, you just gotta throw out the last bit in the cup because it's all grounds.:thumbsup:

or was it pizza and beer?
I vote pizza and beer.:thumbsup:

You should have more sympathy for her John. Sometimes, it's a difficult task to pick just one John.
I feel bad for you, ED. I really do.
Beautiful large heard you've collected in a short time.:thumbsup:

Well, crud... This blasted software lost me some quotes... Those of you who offered me compliments, you have my sincere appreciation.

Ron, I'm smitten with your new Lambsfoot - it is a lovely knife.
To those of you suffering from back pain and the like, you have my sympathies, I am hoping for speedy recoveries and relief.

This one has been close by the last couple of days.

Thanks Jack! The Ironwood is a very pleasing carry! They only do the senior hours on Tuesday morning. I normally avoid Wally World like the plague. (That’s probably not the best phrase to be using given the current circumstances!) But this may become my new normal once a week. At least for the duration of COVID! :D

That’s a great looking meal Jack! And a great looking Lambsfoot serving the cutting duties! :)

It was a good move getting that one re-handled Ron :) We're all having to make unusual shopping choices my friend. The place I've been going to is the worst of the small supermarkets nearby, but that means it's the quietest  Thanks pal, I enjoyed it :)

All that any man needs! Except for maybe including an ice cold brew.

Thanks Bill, I had a few out of the overpriced variety pack I had delivered ;)

Jack Black Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Glad you’re feeling a little better. Funny comic and tasty meal.

@JaxBaron - Thank you Jon.

@donn - fine looking mask selfie.

Good Afternoon Guardians.

Changed my mind. I'm taking this 2019 Guardians SFO with Ironwood covers by Jack Jack Black Jack Black with me today as it rarely gets pocket time and has never been to town with me.

Not a bad way to make coffee Vince :) When I live in the Middle East, we used to use a small stove-pot pan, I loved that coffee :)

Geese can be vicious! Swans too! :D Cool pic my friend :) I hope you're doing OK

Another fantastic pic Dwight, it's great seeing you here again :)

I am doing well, except for a shoulder injury from a bicycle crash but that will heal. I hope to be around here a bit more in the near future.
...
My dog was wondering just what the heck I was doing in her regular sunbathing spot and had to come over and investigate. :D
49777431318_7860ce11de_h.jpg
Hope your shoulder heals up fast and completely. Maybe you should trade the bike for a trike that's less likely to crash. ;)
Cool pic of your lambsfoot (ironwood?) and dog.:thumbsup::cool: Reminded me of the old Carole King song about how you can't talk to a dog with a shotgun in her paws.

Fab Four Flock! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

...
Rosewood featured today of course.

Both delectable, Harvey!:cool::thumbsup: Have your photos featured fewer baked goods since stay-at-home orders arrived? Has your favorite bakery shut down completely?

WCLFs always leave me speechless!:cool::cool:

...
Hope everyone is doing well :) I was just having a shave this morning when my lower back went! o_O I managed to get out for a few provisions, but it was a painful trip :( Hopefully, OK in a day or too
I hope the back pain subsides quickly, Jack; no fun! :(

My buffalo horn lambsfoot showed up today and happy to say its a much nicer example than my large rosewood was. Hard to capture in photos but the horn has nice looking color striations and the back cover has some lighter shades as well. I do like the size better than the large also. I think its a keeper this time.
Congrats on the glossy new horn lambsfoot!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

BOTH of your thumbs must be green, Rachel!:thumbsup:;) (We had several days with accumulating snow last week, and they predict more this morning, so gardens are NOT very far along yet.)

And everyone's been posting pics of their flocks recently. Here's an updated one of mine.

Quality quintet, David!:cool::thumbsup: My two favorites are on the ends, with the Eye of Sauron horn and the 2-blade.

I admire this photo! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Trying for a nice clear picture... let's see if I am capable. ;)

Nope, I'll keep working on it. :D
Your photo standards are much higher than mine, John!
I think that's a fine pic, especially with the grain of the wood background reflected in the backspring.:cool::cool:

Your Damascus stag senator is sensational, Harvey, and the "black sheep(dog)" photo is priceless!:cool::D

Thanks, guys.
I may be partly to blame for the weather. I haven't quite put away all the Christmas decorations, so the local angels may be confused. Or impatient....
There may be some truth to this. My wife picked up a boxful of random Christmas decorations last week!:rolleyes:

Just a quick stop in to post a pic.

Cosmic rays in a cloud chamber!!:thumbsup::cool: Great to see one of those fine 2017 Guardians horn lambsfoots, FBC!

I snuck in some pre-dawn sourdough mixing this morning, let it rise and proof throughout the course of the day, and pulled the finished loaf out of the oven about an hour ago. Looking forward to cutting into it in an hour or so after it's cooled enough.

Heavenly stag HHB, Dave! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
The cookies may be outside your comfort zone as a baker, but they offer me, as a baked goods consumer, substantial comfort! ;) Sourdough cookies?

When I got up this morning I knew it was Saturday so I dropped my PD Stag Big ‘un in my pocket.

Jelly and I did a lot of work in the yard today, but were very honored to receive this quite prestigious honor upon completion!

Not my yard pictured above, but if you can imagine something about 1 percent as large, with one tree, and covered with lots of pretty dandelions and clover, then you'll get the idea!
:D:D:thumbsup: I think I can picture that, Matt, but any yard looks good with Jelly in it!

Wouldn't it be wondrous if all Guardians were issued shepherd's Crookes like yours, Harvey? ;):cool:

Fresh home-baked bread and a stag HHB; you're livin' the high life, Dennis! ;):cool:
Did you ever see this video of George and others with Carl Perkins? George seems to be so happy!

Morning Guardians, you folks have been busy! :) I was hoping I'd be able to get back in my office chair again today, but still struggling a bit I'm afraid, so just stumbling along on my phone  I hope everyone is doing well, and having a decent weekend :) Got my Hartshead Barlow in my pocket again ;)
...
Unfortunately @donn 's back has come out in solidarity with mine, and he's having the same problem o_O

Sorry to hear that the back pain is not improving appreciably, Jack, and that David has a bad back now, too. :(

I'm excited this morning! :D I got a new to me Lambsfoot in the mail yesterday evening. It's totally different to me.
...
My knife is a Venture, H.M. Slater, Sheffield. It has some beautiful deeply grained horn handles. The bolsters are brass and the liners are steel. It is a big'un, which I really like! As a note, the blade looks very much like the blade on my big'uns from Wright's. The horn is hard to photograph but I got some photos to show you! :D

After losing a large multi quote for the third time let me just say “I’m not a happy camper”! :( This place means so much to me, but the site has really been trying my patience lately. :( Everywhere else I go is fine! Let me just say “Thank You” to everyone for the kind words about my daily carry choices. I also want to add what a wonderful bunch of Lambsfoot knives are posted daily. And by the finest bunch on the Porch! :D

Nice balancing act Jer :D I haven't used a drip-type coffee maker for decades. I used one of those stove-top Italian espresso makers for years, but I usually use a French-press (we call it a cafetiere here) these days
Maybe I'll try a French press if I can find one without explosion warnings. I should have brains enough left to figure one out. Meanwhile, I ordered a new percolator last night: $18, with 4.5 stars out of 8000+ reviews, should be all right. This estate sale perker tasted a little bitter and oily this morning, but I've used it before, so I shouldn't die of it.

how you can't talk to a dog with a shotgun in her paws.
