Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Nice balancing act Jer :D I haven't used a drip-type coffee maker for decades. I used one of those stove-top Italian espresso makers for years, but I usually use a French-press (we call it a cafetiere here) these days

It was a good move getting that one re-handled Ron :) We're all having to make unusual shopping choices my friend. The place I've been going to is the worst of the small supermarkets nearby, but that means it's the quietest  Thanks pal, I enjoyed it :)

Thanks Bill, I had a few out of the overpriced variety pack I had delivered ;)

Thanks a lot Harvey, my back was sore after doing the cooking, but it's definitely well on the mend :) Looks like you're living well my friend, love your Albert Oates :)

Great pic Taylor, lovely character on your WCLF

Hope it went OK Ed, and that your Big 'Un enjoyed the trip

Not a bad way to make coffee Vince :) When I live in the Middle East, we used to use a small stove-pot pan, I loved that coffee :)

You have certainly been through the wars Dennis, reckon you've earned a bit of spoilin' buddy  Thanks a lot for the kind words, I never got on too well with my TENS machine, maybe I should give it another go. Geese can be vicious! Swans too! :D Cool pic my friend :) I hope you're doing OK

Another fantastic pic Dwight, it's great seeing you here again :)

LOL! :D Outstanding collection Ed :)

Wow! I'm glad you guys put up with me bitchin' about the rain! ;) That's WEATHER! Cool pic

Happening a lot at the moment Dylan :( Your WCLF is looking good, beautiful photo :)

Morning Guardians, I'm back on the bottle today  ;)

Hoping my back will loosen up again soon, it's definitely a lot better than it was. Not sure when I'm going to get a shave though, I'm starting to look like this guy! :D

Hope everyone is doing OK, and not going too stir-crazy  I'm hoping to get a bread delivery today, which is pretty exciting! :D Have a good day folks, stay safe and well :)

Jack - a very nice brewski. Red pale ales are favorites of mine. That knife slip is a fine one; I own a few of them. The black one I have houses my "Black Jack". The brown one I have is the residence of my HHB. Your stag HHB is looking mighty fine.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Two things have always worried me about the automatic drip type, I think that's what these are called:
FCoV9lZ.jpg

First, I'm drinking out of hot plastic. Second, how can they ever dry out, so how can they not get moldy.
I don't know why that didn't prevent me from using them for decades.
They add enough cloramines to the drinking water, it probably slows the mold. :p

I've used all those, but have just gone back to boiling a kettle of water and pouring it through a Melitta style cone filter.
BOTH of your thumbs must be green, Rachel!:thumbsup:;) (We had several days with accumulating snow last week, and they predict more this morning, so gardens are NOT very far along yet.)
I don't know about green thumbs, but we are surely on a different growing cycle down here. Last frost was late February, and the peas have about another month to produce before it's too hot. The hunker-down orders help too, since I'm home more and actually remembering to water the garden this year.
This is the first time I've actually gotten sugar peas to flower. My very first little pea-pod:

So cute!

The ebony big-un has been my main gardening knife.

I hope everyone who's hurting feels better, and everyone who's not, stays that way. :D

I'm glad there is improvement.:thumbsup:

Thanks a lot John, at least I can sit in my computer chair now :)

Good Morning Guardians
With improvement in Jack's back, I am now switching back to my Rosewood.

Thanks again pal, and it's always nice to see your knife :)

Maybe I'll try a French press if I can find one without explosion warnings. I should have brains enough left to figure one out. Meanwhile, I ordered a new percolator last night: $18, with 4.5 stars out of 8000+ reviews, should be all right. This estate sale perker tasted a little bitter and oily this morning, but I've used it before, so I shouldn't die of it.

They come with explosion warnings?! I was thinking of trying one of those Aeropress ones, not that I really need a new way to make coffee  Good luck with the new percolator Jer :)

Thanks Bill, I got a large pot-luck order from an online delivery service, some overpriced mediocre beers, but that one was pretty good, like everything I've had from that brewery :) They're great slips, I'm grateful to other Guardians for gifting me a few of them :) I appreciate the compliments buddy

Sometimes 'simple' works best :) For a feller who lives on a small island, I do marvel at the extent of the temperature/weather variation across the USA :) Nice pics Rachel, and a kind sentiment :)

Thanks Jack! I’m glad to be here Jack! :)

:)

They seem to have cut our chlorine in recent years. We didn't used to get mildew in our toilets.

I remember those. Hmm.

I'm pretty sure the glass ones do. At least Mom's did.
Aeropress? Google-time.

And I can't switch to tea until I use up a quart and a half of non-dairy creamer. I don't think caramel latte would go well with tea. Maybe I can make pudding out of it.

Wow! I'm glad you guys put up with me bitchin' about the rain! ;) That's WEATHER! Cool pic

Thanks! I rode out a hurricane in 1983 but we had mandatory evacuation for Ike. We had a little roof damage but thankfully our brand new king sized mattress caught all the water that came in the house. We finally got back home a week later to find a funny smell and a very colorful mattress!

I hope the weather calms down soon, Les.
That's a handsome stag lamb with an enviable edge!:thumbsup::cool:

The factory edge needed some help for sure. I had to get the KME out and work on it a bit. Love the rosewood handle on your Lambfoot! :)

Yeah, I guess they could be quite dangerous. My two are all stainless, but I have had glass ones in the past. The Aeropress gets really good reviews, but it's a bit of a rabbit-hole

Another of my beers from last night

I'm glad you were OK :) Mattress aside! I used to know a Jamaican feller in Sheffield back in the 80's. Unusually, he was a very timid and nervous character. Air flights were still expensive then, and he hadn't been back to Jamaica since he came over to Britain as a young man. He managed to save up enough money to go and see his old mother, who still lived there, but ran smack into Hurricane Gilbert, and spent 2 weeks terrified in a cellar, losing all his luggage! There was a happy ending though, he found out he still had a lot of relatives in Jamaica, the price of flights started to drop, and he was able to go back and visit his mom several more times :)

But it comes with a dedicated muddling stick!
And now there's Aeropress Go for travel!
Travel. Good thing we cremate. I doubt we'll get Mom in the ground this year.

Anyway, I'll see how the new perker goes.

I basically use a Keurig for 90% of my coffee, but I use a Melitta cone filter quite often. Pam is not a coffee drinker so I like the single cup methods the best. Love the Ebony big’un! :)

I wouldn't have used this without first running it through the dishwasher, but maybe it needs scouring.

That would be another reason to switch to tea. You don't wash a teapot at all, you just rinse it.
I’ve got that exact same percolator. I got it from my mother. She probably got it in the 50’s. It’s a Revere Ware with Copper Clad bottom. They made a whole line of pots, pans and skillets like that. I used it for years on a Coleman stove while camping. They work best with course ground coffee. They used to have what was called Percolator Grind. This was all before the introduction of Mr. Coffee in 1972. And as they say, the rest is history! ;) Here’s a Lambsfoot! :D

Hope your shoulder heals up fast and completely. Maybe you should trade the bike for a trike that's less likely to crash. ;)
Cool pic of your lambsfoot (ironwood?) and dog.:thumbsup::cool: Reminded me of the old Carole King song about how you can't talk to a dog with a shotgun in her paws.

Fab Four Flock! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Nice rosewood/pancake shot, Dave!:cool::thumbsup: You're the Sultan of Sourdough! ;)

Both delectable, Harvey!:cool::thumbsup: Have your photos featured fewer baked goods since stay-at-home orders arrived? Has your favorite bakery shut down completely?

WCLFs always leave me speechless!:cool::cool:

I hope the back pain subsides quickly, Jack; no fun! :(

What a high-class quartet of lambsfoots, ED!:thumbsup::cool:

Snakes Alive, Dan, you speak Parseltongue, too?? :D:cool::cool:

Your daughter is a year old already?? Great shot, Taylor!:thumbsup::cool:

Congrats on the glossy new horn lambsfoot!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

BOTH of your thumbs must be green, Rachel!:thumbsup:;) (We had several days with accumulating snow last week, and they predict more this morning, so gardens are NOT very far along yet.)

Quality quintet, David!:cool::thumbsup: My two favorites are on the ends, with the Eye of Sauron horn and the 2-blade.

I admire this photo! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Your photo standards are much higher than mine, John!
I think that's a fine pic, especially with the grain of the wood background reflected in the backspring.:cool::cool:

Your Damascus stag senator is sensational, Harvey, and the "black sheep(dog)" photo is priceless!:cool::D

There may be some truth to this. My wife picked up a boxful of random Christmas decorations last week!:rolleyes:

Cosmic rays in a cloud chamber!!:thumbsup::cool: Great to see one of those fine 2017 Guardians horn lambsfoots, FBC!

That looks so good, Greg, that I'm going to have to stop for breakfast!:thumbsup:;)

Superb shot of your stag HHB, Bill!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Often there are tremendous variations just in Texas. I wonder how many Englands would fit in Texas? ;)
